What a WILDLY BEAUTIFUL trail 😧 that was so fun to watch, Kathryn! Glad you weren’t trapped in the mud pit for too long 😂

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I really liked being able to create a full video start to end. I’m think that might be the new format 😁

Saved this longer video for birthday viewing (a special treat!). And…
    1. 2 day discount? Challenge accepted! Glad he followed through.
    2. What a landscape!?! Every shade of gray!
    3. Were you guys using preloaded maps or was GPS working?
    4. That mud sink was impressive!!
Great video!! Love the new format 💚

I am so behind with RUclips comments 😫 trying to get caught up! So I'm sorry this response is so late!
Happy belated birthday! I love that my video could be a part of your birthday 😁
Yes! I was determined to receive that discount ha. I love free things 😂 The landscape was incredible. I wish it had been a bit brighter the first two days to show just how colorful some of the mountains and plants were, but I'm glad I could at least show a bit of the beauty.
yeah I luckily have a map on my Garmin (watch) that I could track with gps and I also have AllTrails pro so I can download maps for offline use which I usually always do. If we hadn't had those it would have been almost impossible to do this trail. It completely disappears for large chunks of time. Even with gps the trail is just non existent for a lot of it so you basically just have to keep working in the general direction and along the imaginary red line on the map haha
and yes! that mud sink. I wish I could have gotten a video of them pulling me out or at least of me in the mud, but my phone was in my pocket sunken below the surface and my GoPro was in the waist zipper pocket of my pack also below the mud 😂 if they had not been there I am certain that it would have taken at least a full hour if not multiple hours to get myself free.

Thank you! sorry for such a late response, I'm just getting caught up on comments now.
and don't be fooled, we were lost at times too 😂 even with gps that trail was simply non existent at times. It was difficult!

Looks a little wild in places, I see where is the trail, it was very narrow, or a bit wider! But all three did it!

Yeah definitely wild in places. It was hard to record while we were super off trail, but I wish I could have shared more from those moments. The beginning and the end had a clear and obvious trail, it was the 20 miles in the middle that had no trail, just occasional cairns. And yeah! we all did it which was a great feeling.

I did this trail around the middle to end of February 2022. Are you considering trying it? 😁
