Owned a base mazda3 turbo sedan for a little over 2 years now (26k miles) and I haven’t needed to do much besides regular maintenance. I always say getting in the car makes me feel like 1000 bucks 😂. It’s a great place to be after a long day of work and I never have to fight with the driver assist electronics after some infotainment adjustment. Minor complaints - fuel economy could be better, and the gas tank is relatively small for someone having to move themselves around Texas. Great review Brian!
Wife has this as a daily, great car overall if you understand what it’s trying to be. The damping is what impresses me the most, it’s just a really comfortable car to drive. I often steal it for my 90 mile commute instead of getting beat up in my Focus RS! :)
@@eriknephrongfr8847 Get the Burger Motorsport JM4 piggy back tune. Unlocks 40 wheel horse power. I installed mine today and I'm in love. Waiting on exhaust system next. Hurry up UPS!!!
I have a 18 manual hatchback as my daily, it's fun enough. Mazda makes some understated cars. I think the current Mazda3 sedan is one of the best looking compact sedans on the market.
Had my turbo 3 PP or about a month now & couldn't possibly be happier with it. The compact size, ride height & drive are exactly what I wanted (after years of considering a Veloster turbo). And, the stereo... Glad that I waited, pondered & kept looking, because this was absolutely the right one for me.
I just got my burger motorsport JM4 piggy back tune put on today and it's got pep now!! Just waiting on UPS to deliver my CS 80mm cat back exhaust. Love this car!!!
I was thinking same thing - not anything else quite like it at the price point. The new Integra has some similarities in trying to have more upscale interiors. But until the Type S (not sure what the includes), not nearly the power, nor the AWD. Perhaps more room in the rear seats. (That part is a little disappointing.)
I loved my 2019 with the Soul Red paint. Amazing looking car but the paint chipped way too easily. Driving a 2023 Carbon Edition now. Luckily got the Bose before they deleted it. I wasn’t sure about the paint at first, but it has really grown on me and so far seems to hold up better. The red seats and blacked out wheels are a great contrast in person.
i was lucky enough to get a top trim 2021 m3 turbo in late '22 as my first new car. a few months ago, my daily commute went from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours and this car is what makes it tolerable. also the app calls it a '2.5 Turbo PP' and that is hilarious
Considering selling/trading my 2019 Ford Fiesta ST for one of these. Just picked up the car a couple of months ago, but it was pretty heavily modified by the previous owner, and while he was a Ford technician, and did a great job with it, I'm finding the loud exhaust just a little bit tiring. Guess I'm just getting older now, as I'm not looking to modify cars like I was in my younger days! And while I would prefer this in a manual, my wife can't drive a stick so this just gives us another car that she could use should the need arise. And when it comes down to it, I still have my 6 speed Camaro 1LE for a fun sports car during the nice weather!
The Mazda 3 is so good. Always has been. But I will weep the day Mazda's current lineup goes away. I fear that with the CX-30, and CX-50, and the upcoming CX-90, that Mazda is taking a very strong look at driver comfort over driving performance, and becoming very VW/Audi like sporty, and soft. Where, if you look back in the early 2000's and the launch of the old Protege, they talked about how even the base model Protege embodies the spirit of "Zoom Zoom". Now they talk about tuning the suspension so your head doesnt nod too much over bumps, and making sure NVH is reduced significantly. It is much more about driving enjoyment, than driving fun. And I can't help but think that it feels like they are getting softer and softer in their approach. Also the fact that not all Mazdas will be made in Japan anymore is another very worrying point of contention for me as well, but thats another topic for another time.
