Rolling Stock: General Electric = P32AC-DM Locomotive #203. Bombardier = Shoreliner I, II, III, IV; Comet II Coaches and Cab Car #6125.
Well, guys, I know this video is long overdue, especially since I filmed it almost a year ago, but it is finally here and I am glad that I was able to get this out for your viewing pleasure. Also, how fitting that my 853rd video on RUclips is of Train #853. I promise you all that this was a coincidence, considering that I did not even verify the uploaded video numbers until the day this video went public.
Shoutout to fellow railfan, Kirk Zevola, as he was the one who recommended that I attempt this ride, considering that I have done on-board videos of super express trains in the past, such as Train #8353 when it ran express from Newark Penn Station to Aberdeen-Matawan and PJL Train #59 running express from Secaucus Junction to Harriman, NY, which served as inspiration for this ride-along.
Compared to New Jersey Transit, the cosmetic appearance of some of the equipment is terrible, especially with the unit leading this train, General Electric P32AC-DM #203. It is truly in desperate need for a paint job. One aspect that MTA defeats NJT in is not just the view, especially provided by the Hudson River, but the map of the entire journey on the MTA TrainTime app was unique since it shows not only the stops, but the great distance between Grand Central Terminal and Beacon stations, which I found to be pretty cool. Furthermore, I did not notice one sun-damaged window on this entire set, which is rare on New Jersey Transit, even though it is not nonexistent on Metro-North.
If any of you wish to gaze upon the views of the Hudson River or if you are a railfan that enjoys high speed action and long-distance stretches on express trains, then visiting the Hudson Line is definitely for you. It was a great experience and I am sure you guys will enjoy it as well. The line traverses through Manhattan, The Bronx, and upstate New York consisting of Westchester; Putnam; Dutchess counties.
If there is any questions that you guys may have, chances are that it was already answered in the video. If not, go ahead and ask away and I will get to them as soon as I can.
With that being said, the video pretty much speaks for itself, so I will leave it at that. If you guys enjoyed the video, feel free to drop a like, comment, subscribe, share the video with everyone you know, and I will see you all on the next one! If you guys have any requests, feel free to leave them in the comments section and based on the time I have, I will be more than happy to fulfill them.

38:42 incorrect Amtrak train. It’s Amtrak Lake Shore Limited #48 to New York Penn Station.
1:24:04 inccorect symbol. It’s MN #2850 deadhead from Poughkeepsie to Croton Harmon came off of MN #849. MN #851 short turns at Beacon and then deadheads back to the city as Metro North #2852 to become MN #883.
1:43:22 Actually Poughkeepsie IS a yard where some Metro North trains head depending on which assignment they’re on to be tied down and blue flagged for the night. The Metro North trains that head into Poughkeepsie Yard day and night are Metro North trains #809, #843, #853 (Mon - Thur), #4835 (Fri only), #857, #869, #877, #883, #891, #895, & #897. On weekends it’s Metro North trains #8841 (Sat only), #8845, #8847, #8855 (Sun only), #8867, #8871, & #8897. Hope that helps and hope you enjoyed your trip on Metro North #853 up to Poughkeepsie.
