Will it work on a L3560?
Hide a “Tile” locator on the tractor and anyone near it with the Tile app will ping the location. Better for stuff that ends up in a city but may be a cheap solution. I hide one in my headrest of my truck! Also will help you remember where you park!
But will it tell me where my keys or glasses are?
Speaking of diagnotics tools, what is Kubota's stance on "right to repair"?
I can't speak for them. As I understand, there is a customer version of the dealership laptop coming out. Several companies offer these now. Its one of those issues that on the surface sounds good and all but once you understand the realities its not so rosy. Personally, I'm very in favor of right to repair with electronics, but I don't think it makes much sense here. I think a much more important issue to discuss would be who owns your data.
@@MessicksEquip That surprises me, A lot of farmers like to repair, rebuild equipment in the off season.. and have been doing so for decades.. You would ask them to stop because companies insist on more and more things being computer controlled or monitored?
@@Morpheen999 when a company serially controls components requiring a dealer tech to "program" or assign it to the machine, that is 100% a money grab. If kubota feels like JD about right to repair, then they are black listed in all products in my book.

Three months later and the government is now cracking down on it….. farm equipment was infact included in the stroke of the pen…..
I would love to something like this to at least be able to do a forced regen. We rented a Kubota track loader and even running wide open it needed a regen every day. The rental company needed to send a service guy out multiple times and it was brand new. It was cold as hell though, but still if the bugs were worked out of the emission crap it shouldn't have been an issue.
you can do a parked regen at any time... certainly something wrong with that machine.
I would be super interested in this, Neil, there will likely be a huge market for this in the smaller tractors, I heard you mention BX, are B series going to get this?
I would guess so, but its starting with construction equipment

Sounds like a good idea but now if the tractor battery is dead or unhooked, wouldn’t that disable the tracking. Unless the units have a built in battery backup. Maybe I’m thinking too much into this.
It has an internal battery also.

And at what point will the insurance companies lower their rates to account for the fact that we, the owners, are paying to have tracking for our equipment, which lowers their claim payouts? I have asked my insurance company about this... answer: great idea but no rate reduction.

You must register your equipment with Kubota Sir. If you call in we can walk you through the process.
@@troyquin I got it figured out. My dealer when they installed the telematics unit apparently one of the connectors wasn't plugged in all the way.. thanks for the reply though.

Interesting April 1st video that's real, but about as scary as it is useful. The theft prevention and data availability is great, but it raises the questions (in my mind at least) of: who all gets access/ownership to/of the data? and how secure is the background software/network? would be rather ....unpleasant to have an expensive machine bricked by ransomware or other unfriendly actions.

LOL, just seen that.
I had an electrician explain the upside down plugs in an office setting to me. He said that if an appliance isn't plugged all the way in and dropped a paper clip or similar on it it would fall off to the side instead of crossing terminals.
I've been told that's the current building code, for the reason above.

Sounds very simmilar to Cat product link. The bigger customers like them and they are used in our rental fleets as well.

I would like one of these for my mini. My question is, though, from a theft standpoint what happens if the thief knows to look for this technology and simply unplugs it? Are there built in software safe guards to prevent the machine from running if this device is unplugged unless the machines computer is reset (or something similar)?
Not totally sure, but I know it has an internal battery.
I like the Messick videos but the Kubota AP sucks.

When I added my 97-2 track loader , using the camera and QR code , it adds it to my equipment but only gives me manuals. No telematic information like fuel , battery , geofences , etc. any advice ?

I have an older tractor do you know of any gps systems that can be hooked up to any standard machine
I’m looking at ones from Ag Junction (wheelman) and farm pro for autosteer they have gps recorded precision planting, mowing, composting etc. for any tractor. Cellutrak sold by Kubota can also do gps for theft

@Messick's Equipment the machine is showing up but not the telematics stuff, no fuel, Def, hours, etc. It may or may not have AT&T service. Does it have to be AT&T?

Kubota would corporates with the GPS companies so they know how to fit out Kubota equipment. I do Trimble, Raven and Outback. They all can be setup on Kubota's.

I use “Tile” for my expensive equipment and trailers.
That will really depend on location. It might work where I am if I get lucky and have a forgetful person steal my stuff, but there's enough space that no one would walk close enough to the tile to pick it up.

I’d be curious about my L4060GST as well. It would be a bonus if it would come with a reduction on the ktac insurance as it can be tracked. I’m not sure how much the theft portion is on the insurance.

@@PaytonDeflorio If they are on order, its easiest to go back to your dealership and have them install telematics during prep. Its available for all of those models.
