My father also keeps a ledger. He writes almost everything down besides the expenditure. He has written about the good days his children made him feel. In one of his ledger from 1994,he had written about buying his first couple stuff for him and mom like mugs,towels,etc. I found it by chance and it's so lovely.
I also keep a ledger where I write down my important expenses. I learned to keep a diary from him and I am so happy when I look back. He also keeps files for 4 of us( Me and my three younger sisters) that records all our school years including school calender,fee slips and stuffs. I always say it's too much accounting for him but it reminds us about certain important things which we might forget so it's good. Hope you'll start keeping a ledger like your Mom suggests. It's worth it.

Deposit some of your earnings in the best and most reliable bank and open a time deposit account (I don't know if such an account works in Korea and how it works). Invest in whatever is the most reliable investment instrument in your country. This way, you can secure your future a little bit. Mom is so sweet and right.😊
I don't see how she's so wonderful. If she talked to him like this all his life no wonder he's alone, living with his mother and apparently can handle money well even though he's an actor. She's torn down his self-esteem. A man that doesn't believe in himself will only go so far. He needs to put his mother in her own house and live his life. It's not normal to have a grown man (in his 40s) still living with his mother while she seems to still by trying to raise him. He's grown. Her raising days are over. Whatever she didn't teach him in his youth it's too late for now. Let him live his life. If he messes up, that's part of being an adult. He'll either learn from it and finally mature or keep making mistakes. This is a toxic parent/child relationship. Nothing cute about it.
In Korea it is normal for children to live with their parents until they get married. Ji Chang Wook also lives with his mum.
Also its normal in many asian countries for parents to live with their children even after marriage.That way the children can look after their parents.Its a cultural thing that differs from country to country and even family to family.
