I couldn't play an instrument to save my life, but I watched this three times. Why? To listen to Toni strum her guitar, to listen to Toni talk, to watch Toni smile. 100% beautiful. Thanks Toni.
Chord diagrams are so much better than the “third finger on the third fret of the D string....etc...etc....” seeing both hands is so good for chord changes and strum timing. Great job!
Yah - that is so stupid. Show the diagram the way Toni is doing here. You see her hand and finger positions and general transitions and the chord diagram. What could be better?
I just learned more about playing guitar in 3:39 mins., than I've learned in a lifetime. If this doesn't become the go to channel for beginners around the world, then something's amiss. Well done...
Thank you Toni for providing this. For some reason, I just saw it for the first time even though I've been following you for quite some time. You couldn't have made it any simpler and I appreciate it.
Agree with others: your singing and chord diagrams put you way ahead of most RUclips teachers. Slow tempo is also good teaching tool. For what it’s worth, I know that you and Reina have recorded this tune in a nice 6/8. But at this slower tempo in a lesson aimed at less advanced players, I hear the more familiar 4/4 time signature with your strumming as 1-2-and-3-4-and. In any case, this is one of the clearest song lessons I have seen.

Strum Chum Sessions. Love it! Every single day I'm a beginner. Thank you for posting!
Really like your technique of showing the chords, chord diagrams, and words, all together on the screen. Nice! When I had to go back for the B flat 9, I saw right away how to make it. (Now I just need to strum that chord a hundred times. Haha.) Very well done. Thank you.
A different approach to teaching unlike any other you tube guitar instruction. The different graphics are very helpful and give options to learn. Carry on please Toni.
You are amazing.I have played guitar for 50 years (with songs on the radio in the Czech Republic) and I am no way near where you are. You have exceptional talent, and I look forward to watching many more videos from you. Well done!
Thank you so very much. I am a latino trying to play and sing in English. You make it very simple to learn I got this song down after several days thanks to you.
This one is a definite keeper. My father used to play this on an old 45... brings back memories and truly is a timeless beauty. thanks so much for sharing it with us
You have a winner in what you are doing. Most recreational guitarist are not looking for complicated songs. The chord graphics are great. I would encourage beginners and or those that need a tuneup to get motivated ,stay tuned for great things to come from you. There is nothing wrong with KISS .
Oh Toni! I have absolutely no interest in playing the guitar. But, I would watch this all day long just to see your smile. This is great teaching. Strong and consistent visual cues with strumming, chord progressions and tablature. You have a very encouraging tone and manner. Limited verbal input. The screens were apportioned perfectly. Excellent. I wish you success in business.
Thanks Toni! I'm working on 'Never going back again' by Lindsey Buckingham. I dont know if I've ever struggled so much with a tune. If you could learn it and show us what's up that would be great! You're awesome girl!!
I absolutely love that song and would love to do a lesson on it! Those Lindsey Buckingham guitar parts are always iconic. Great suggestion, and I'll get one up on it soon!
Absolutely brilliant lesson! Super easy to follow along and learn. I play free shows at assisted living facilities and a resident has requested this song for the longest time. Thanks to you and this awesome tutorial, I’ll finally be able to play it for her. Thanks again!
Hi Toni, this is a wonderful lesson. I learned this tune in the past and it was even simpler, so I'm enjoying this "easy" lesson with more chords and use of the capo. I've never heard the term before so can you expand on the "Tag?" Thank you, I look forward to more of these great lessons.
A tag refers to a slight change in the last section of a song, usually an expanded cadence. It’s where you emphasize the chords by letting them ring a little longer than in previous sections. It may also use some different chords. It’s supposed to be a bit of a dramatic ending of a song and let’s the audience know that the song is winding down. AKA coda in classical music.
I love that song.My daughters 1st or 2nd grade class sung that song quite a few years ago.I will now learn it & probably sing it is n church. Thanks kid & you do a good of singing & playing it.
Toni, have been enjoying you and your fellow musicians for quite awhile. Been play guitar longer than y'all been alive! And now my algorithm found your site! What a wonderful world indeed... love the easy strum lesson. Will pass it on to my grandchildren, two who I've inspired to pick up the guitar! You're a much better instructor, better looking too... thnx for sharing ❤
Thank you so much for this very clear and informative lesson. Especially appreciate the presenters friendly personality and patient way of presentation. God bless everyone
thank you for saying "louis" how he wanted it to be pronounced. Recently learned that he wanted it said like "lewis" not "looey". So thank you for pronouncing it right!
Thanks for this, Toni! This is one of my family’s favourite songs. We often played it for our kids when they were young as a precursor to bedtime. Can’t wait to see you and Reina play live again. We have to get Covid under control and get the border open so we can bring you back to Canada!
I have started collecting vinyl albums again, after opening a box that had just over a hundred in it, from when I graduated, nearly 50 years ago. I just picked up Louis Armstrong's album, just for this song. I keep doing that, and now my collection is just shy of 400.
you know what ? that was just so simple and easy to follow that just about anyone could pick up a guitar and learn this as there first ever song ! everything was there strum patern , chord placement , chords in order of play, close up of struming hand and chord playing hand ,and with a bit of rewind, pause and playback. you could teach yourself these cords at your own pace. well done young lady!oh and for the record ! there is nothing wrong with easy version in any song lol
Loved it. It's a snowy afternoon here in DC and I can't think of anything better than learning this song, with your video as my guide, right now! Thank you.
I did not realise you have such a nice voice. You are brilliant at everything you put your hand to, and to play and sing like you do must make life a breeze, l,will add, most of the time because we all have not so good days. I hope all wishes come true.
A pretty simple song to play and yet you make it sound like thewonderful song it is .. it's always a pleasure watching what you bring to the table Toni ..

Really sweet. Your voice has perfect "even ness" that lends itself to laying out the song. Thank you. Satchmo' is The Man.
I just learned more about playing guitar in 3:39 mins., than I've learned in a lifetime. If this doesn't become the go to channel for beginners around the world, then something's amiss. Well done...
