This is why I love the Vision Pro it immersive experience is awesome yes it is heavy but I love it that said I do expect the usability to expand way more with vision pro with more developers getting their hands on it and I expect it to get lighter with the second version tho not as light as the third version will be which will have learned from the first two versions but better either way is it still worth $3500 that's for you to decide its a awesome headset either way it just depends if you want to pay for it or not
This is my favorite game and the visuals on the Vision pro for the game looks great ❤

If i ever got one of these id only want one for movie watching tbh, if they released a basic version for that alone then id definitely consider it.

Sorry that it wasn’t comfortable. I’ve personally had no comfort issues with my Vision Pro.
Also, you can use your Mac trackpad as a mouse for Vision Pro when it’s connected.

Loved this! Tips for screen size, display setting, go to extra large and make sure that regardless of which setting you’re in two-handed pinch use that on the address bar in Safari and most other apps also respond to get even bigger !!
What I do is use the biggest setting plus walking away from where I plan on watching from placing the app or window and going back to your viewing spot then as an extra you can enter the environment of your choosing and it would be effectively placed further than you would be able to otherwise just careful you don’t grab the bottom bar lol when resizijg it’ll jump back to you ofc
Make sure two hand zoom is checked you can boost size in any display appearance setting lol

It would be nice if you also tested the Meta Quest 3 which is the more open source superior device.
All the other VR headsets have a front to back strap to help with weight. Apple chose the side to side, but I don't think that really helps as much. I think the big screen beyond glasses size and weight is closer to what is really needed for this tech to catch on day to day.
I said the same thing, move the M2 chip to the battery and remove the screen, glass, etc. The main feature should be LIGHTNESS and clarity, nothing else matters.
I'd love to have one some day, but right now it is waaaay too expensive for what it does right now. Hopefully it will get some more computer-like features, better battery life, and most of all a cheaper price tag within the coming years. Those three things are what's holding me back from buying one.

I think the reason they decided not to put the compute in the battery module was to reduce the latency as much as possible.

The reason you cannot have the M2 chip in the battery pack is due to latency. The cameras and other sensors on the headset need to be connected to the M2 and R1 chip with the shortest traces possible to reduce signal degradation. Having a significantly long wire between them just isn't feasible to achieve the near-instantaneous pass-through video that you get with the current design.
Also, having fans in the battery pack to cool the chips will make it impractical to carry it around in your pocket.
Is this really true..? There are VR HMDs with no compute on board. I think it's possible to achieve off board 8ms passthrough.
@@eon5323 It's inaccurate to say that VR HMDs have no compute on board. They still have microcontrollers and low-power SoCs on board to handle the processing of the cameras and sensors to handle passthrough without requiring compute from the PC hardware. Also, I couldn't find any current PCVR HMD that is capable of 8ms passthrough so it would be helpful if you could point me to them.
For transmitting sensor and camera signals through a long wire, you'll need additional components along the chain to digitize and amplify the signal for transmission and this will inherently add additional latency.
In theory, you could have the R1 chip on the headset to handle passthrough and off-load the M2 to the battery pack but I don't have enough information about their architecture to know how tightly they are integrated with each other for this to not be possible. In any case, they went for the approach that minimizes the overall latency and that is only possible if you have the chips on the headset itself.

It is the future but it came out before content. The second or third one with a price normal people can afford will be the one that probably sets off the VR apples way trend. Until then I will just enjoy content on my phones, tablet, and computer.

You didn't disappoint with your true review. Most say its so great. You and ltt and snazy are one of the few who are really transparet and truthful. But i think with the ps vr2 doming to pc this will be the best one then. Sony just knows how to make wearable stuff. The apple vp is just an expensive toy with little use.

In my opinion, they should market this toward emergency services. It would be perfect for fire fighters, police, military & medical field, for how immersive it is. Just imagine being a firefighter & being able to actually see the flames around you & making it seem like you’re really there. It could help a person see how they would react in certain situations.

It's become pretty clear that while the Vision Pro is perhaps the best VR/AR headset out there, that's still not enough for VR as a concept to become truly mainstream. More technological advancement in portability, materials, screen resolution, battery, software, and lots more needs to happen before VR will be truly necessary for most people. Right now, it's best use case is for games and entertainment enthusiasts, i.e. stuff tech nerds appreciate. Right now, the best VR headset for that stuff is the Quest 3. Since Apple is a "serious" brand for casual people, I think the only reason for Apple to release the Vision Pro now is to prime the market for what will come 5-10 years down the line when the tech catches up.
Is it possible to change the outside screen (the one with the eyes) to show something else? It would be fun to have some fish swimming there, like in a fishbowl :p

The Quest 2 and Quest 3 feels more like you are in another world because of the POV. With Apple Vision Pro feels like looking inside a toilet tube a vr content. After you try Quest 3 and going to Apple vision pro feels a down grade in VR tech because of limited view. Save your money and get a Quest2 for $100.

Hi, wait, any more watch here videos there videos? Ehehehe. Welcome to Virtual reality, but wake up, there is only a two hour battery limit, don’t get lost in the so os good Virtual environment. Ok back to reality 😊, I guess that you are right the Vision Pro does seems like it needs a lot of hardware and software enhancements, but remember is the first version released of the Vision Pro 2024. Having said that, hopefully in the next version the Vision Pro will be more like a pair of glasses better yet sky glasses like you mentioned. Other than that, for now the Vision Pro seems to be more to be used around the house than outdoors, but that could change in the near future and it does not look that bad when wearing it even with the light red marks. Question is how to solve the red mark issue, right? Have you tried the Quest? Wonder what your review would be like of a Quest 3 compared to Vision Pro? It's a future gimmick...
I wish it didn't have that computing stuff in it. Just give me a display like this, and let the rendering be handled by a powerful computer with a dedicated GPU. It's pretty useless replacement for monitors if you're limited at maximum of two virtual displays.
And guess which of Apple's lineup has a dedicated gpu? If you think they would let it run with devices outside of their ecosystem you're nuts.
