@BadGoy as also, she could not raise 9 generations .....she is one generation.....the one after her is the second generation no matter how many times she delivers cubs......NOW, her offspring and their descendants may be in the region and have produced 9 generations, but she would REALLY be rare if somehow she did that herself.......

Spoiler alert: She moved to LA to be closer to her agent and further her acting career. Unfortunately there hasn’t been a lot of work for ‘ageing Brown Hyena’ parts since this BBC documentary, but her agent is hopeful that she can get an audition for the next Madagascar movie...
nature does not work towards longevity or happy endings.
The fact that someone kept track of the amount of generations rear by a particular wild hyena at a remote ruin in a middle of a desert for 15 years is just pure dedication.
Or like a lot of these documentaries, someone just made that up. Who is there to fact check it? No one.
@@AlisCave These Hyenas are a protected species and for years are part of a Safari tour and have been studied and looked after for many many years so they know exactly her movements and problems etc.

I watched this full episode the other night and I cried. The loneliness and the will to survive in these beautiful creatures is amazing and sad. A Mother’s love is unmatched. The lengths she travels just to feed her babies ❤️

this is a series which called, “Seven Worlds, One Planet.” This is the last episode of the series. The episode 7 (Africa). The end is very sad. It shows what humans have done to the natural world.
It's probably because the food is scarce so their body just adapts to it, having a smaller size so they use energy less.
Seem cute, but will also attack and eat humans as well.
Brown Hyenas mostly scavenge carrion or hunt smaller prey like seal pups, rabbits, and rodents. Their success lies in that they are actually omnivores, so they could also eat shrooms, vegetables, and plant roots if food becomes really scarce.
Such a cute wise face when she looked through that door frame. And the leg pattern is gorgeous.

literally EVERY TIME I watch a production from BBC Earth, it has me saying WOW or WOAH at least 3 or 4 times (the longer programmes theres at least 15 wows). really quite amazing though.

Unbelievable.... Heard and seen ghost towns in China, around Chernobyl and even India. But this is the first ever ghost town seen from Africa.
Alot of African countries are developing. Most country on the continent where growing fast had a civil war and now have to go back to redevelopment often somewhere who's somewhat recent memories aren't plagued with the thought of death and suffering. I'm happy they are growing past that.
Maybe that's because we "westerners" don't hear much about Africa at all.
Actually there are many ghost towns in Africa. You have not heard of them because you do not know much about Africa. I live in Africa and from my experience most people outside Africa know very little about the continent. VERY VERY LITTLE. I sometimes get shocked by the ignorance

yeah... this is so saddening. I don't usually root for predators, but... it's not their fault that they've been drafted at the top of their food chain and have to kill to survive. And seeing this female search food over a 20 miles distance each day is saddening to me. Meanwhile, I am eating whatever I want, whenever I want and while watching youtube and I still complain that life is hard. That's just not fair :(
