I made this video to compare the sound between Genos 1 and Genos 2. The CFX piano from Genos 2 seems to have some dynamic and midrange frequency issues. When striking hard on Genos1, CFX makes a hammer action sound, but CFX on Genos 2 does not even strike very hard.

Many said Genos 2 is very good, only me saying Genos 2 is bad, I don't know. I am waiting for Yamaha to release new firmware, if not change, I will sell it.

Agreed. I think the genos 2 voices were altered by Yamaha . Genos 1 of course sounds like a masterpiece

Not long had my genos 1. I just ramp up the reverb on everything and gey presto....I have a genos 2😁

i had sell my Genos 1 there are 2 years ago and now i bought Genos2 and i like it.....
Genos 2 not bad at all, but I will show some problems by next demo: the Reverb was cut everything higher than 12000 Hz, at default. CFX piano very poor, at bass notes.

@@hoangtruong7166 just kidding bro! But I think it might be the compressor they use on each one of those sounds, because the sample should be the same right? or even better (bigger)
We should expect, that more sample memory makes the sound more lively and natural, but sometimes it doesn't work.
There is a piano module, shaped like a triangle, price about 500 $ and with 4 GB memory and the piano sound isn't good.
In my life, I've always found that feature that convinced me to buy the next model (at least for my use), and I owned from the Tyros2 up to the Genos1. The exception came with the Genos2, which I decided NOT to buy and stay with my Genos1. I have nothing more to say.
So which one is which? I’m trying to decide.
For me, the sounds of Genos 2 are somewhat thicker than Genos1. However, CFX piano has issues with dynamic issues, no dynamic sound when heavy strikes on keys. Also, Genos1 is richer, more sparkling, and glitter than Genos 2.
Thanks for the quick respond! I’m new to Tyros and genos. Used to play in band 30 years ago. I’m trying to decide whether I should buy a used tyros 5, genos or psr sx900? Thanks for your honest opinion.
@@bvang09 If play band, you should go with MODX, Motif XF, or Montage, the real tools. If for one man band, going Genos, don't go with Tyros5 or SX900.

I prefer to play Genos 1 than Genos 2 because the sounds of Genos1 are richer, more sparkling and glitter than Genos 2. In my opinion, the sound of Genos1 is similar to Roland. The sound of Genos 2 has a strong "Yamaha" identity.

El sonido del genos 2 me es muy similar al sonido de korg, demasiado tosco y poco inspirador. Los sonidos del genos1 son realmente más dulces, inspiradores y hermosos, en mi opinión

Genos 2 as an arranger is more on clarity. Genos 1 when used with a style has less clarity on instrument used.
Playing with Genos 2 on sound system today, sound like the horn speakers died. I don't know what happened. Could be flaws caused by firmware.
Why are you not showcasing the new piano sounds? Absolutely makes no sense to compare the SAME sounds... Ridiculous
I only need the piano that is a popular use, CFX Stage and CFX Concert are 2 sounds that I use the most in gigging. I don't care about something else such as Character piano. Thank you for your view. Genos 2 is superior in some cases such as ambient drum and reverb, but I like the taste of sound Genos1. Genos 2 sounds a little dirty for me.

What kind of stands are you using for both your keyboards? I also have the genos one and genos two, but it can't find a good setup to have them both in place like yours. What are you using to hold your keyboards

Chất âm nghe không ấm áp ngọt ngào và rộng như Genos 1(có lẻ sound card, sampling hay gì đó, không biết). Sound G2 nghe rất khô khan va mệt mỏi.
Mình thich g1 hơn, nên có ý định bán G2
@@hoangtruong7166 I have the PSR-SX900. The Genos 2 sounds a lot better and easier for me to use. Its built-in USB audio interface means I wouldn't have to use the external one I got for my SX900, which could save some time when unplugging everything and then plugging it back in after a performance.

genos guitar stink badly.best arranger today is the Ketron Event.but The genos is way easier to use, and has better pianos, other than That Ketron is way ahead of Yamaha.genos 2 is not advanced

I disagree. The Revelation reverb, new styles and voices (including FM technology and Ambient Drums) make this a new thing for me. Do you also think the Genos 1 should be called the Tyros 5 Pro or Max?
@@DJIncendration agree. There is much more plus in G2 compared to G1 like it was between t4 and 5. Many people stuck with G1 sounds, complaining about sounding a bit different. But 99% of the watchers of such videos don't have and idea how the G2 is full with extra features. Like ambient drum feature alone as a game changer.... FM (DX7) synthesis and many more. Of course if somebody want to sell his opinion that g2 is worse he can. I'll go for the G2 this week for sure.
@@MaverickM1 Just buy G2, gigging in the sound system, and you will know. I still keep G2 at home, but I prefer the sound quality of G1

Yes, Genos 2 is very bad, use the same pedal for both, but Genos2 sound like no sustain pedal. That is bad
@@hoangtruong7166 oh yes and that's why you play in different pitch as well??? I feel you are trying to prove yourself. Never seen any video except this one where the G2 sounded any different in base sounds and had its extra features (like FM synthesis or ambient drums and so on) as an extra. I also compared Peter Barttmans G1 and G2 demo and the G2 is just way better.
