I have a room full of guitars and stopped playing after my wife committed suicide. Just never was able to really want to play again but watching your videos has made me get them back out. It just clicked. Thank you so much for your vids. What a blessing!
I've used this tutorial ever since you first put it up. It's simple and effective and the best I've seen. Thank you soooo much. You're a great teacher.
Pete, aside from having to take more of your time which I'm very grateful you give as much as you do for we aspiring guitarists I doubt anyone watching is going to complain that this is dragging on when it adds so much to our knowledge. Thanks for all you do on this site.
There are no words for how "Great that Lesson" is or was or whenever? Past. Presant or Future lets all hope it lives on Forever! You are a Great Teacher and well mannered too!! Thanks a bunch from Ft Myers Flordia USA!
I just came to watch it again. I forgot what you did for the key changed chorus. But just can't get over how great this tutorial is. It's the best tutorial I've ever watched!
Positively the best RUclips instructor I’be seen. And I’ve seen a lot of them. You get to the point, make the point very well and don’t “yak” incessantly. Keep up the good work. You’ve made me a much better player.
What I like about you, besides your teaching style, is that you do songs that I would never have picked to learn on my own. Then I watch and realize how great these songs are to play. Thank you!
Holy...Shnikees? I've always loved this song!!! But what a beautiful and brilliant (bright, yet melancholy) chord progression this makes as a slower, acoustic ("unplugged") ballad-like progression...and I always thought it was that dancing bass line (which is brilliant in its own right) It truly is so beautiful and moving. I've met at least 4 people that were deeply affected by this song after a crushing break up, including myself. I would play it again and again way back then as it was popular at the time of a harsh romantic loss and I would roll around the floor sobbing (give me a break, I was like 19), anyway I'm a strange ducky, I thought, but later learned I was not alone in that. Bittersweet kind of thing. I am performing this as soon as possible!!! Thank you so much for this!!!
Man you really nailed it ... thanks a bunch - you always find the simplest ways to catch all the good stuff. I stumbled upon that simple sliding lead they work in ... on the B string, on the 10th fret a few times (maybe sliding in from the 8th > 10th), then repeating the melody by sliding on the B stg from the 10th > 8th > 7th > 5th > 3rd, finishing with a slide from the 2nd to 3rd fret ---kinda hitting each note twice prior to the next slide down.
Just dusting off my 12-string while my other guitar is in the shop and for no reason this song came to mind as something to try on the 12-string. Your instructions are brilliant. Seems very accessible.
Very clean player. The run at 3:30-3:35 adds a lot to the song. Love watching your vids, and tutorials. Not gonna make a request cause I'll take anything! Thanks for sharing Pete
Wow! Thanks man. This is my favorite song and I have struggled with playing it over the years. I am mostly a bass player and have always loved the bass run and enjoy playing the bass part immensely. Your video really helps with the guitar parts. Thank you especially for the alternate playings after the key change. Love those!
Oh how I Iove this song, especially the bridge and Chrissie's multitracked harmonies on the key word 'part'. Lots of subtleties here, so am very glad that I didn't try to work it out for myself! Really well done - many thanks.
Just want to express my appreciation for the many tutorials you have shared with us. They have improved my guitar playing list and saved me a lot of time trying to break down songs the hard way, by ear or sheet music. Keep posting them. Thanks
you sir are fantastic. I'm an old metal guy trying to "college rock" my repertoire. thanks for making it sooooo easy in plain English. my god I wouldn't know how to play one of my favorites if it wasn't for your help. thank you kindly
beautifully done! i heard this on the car radio and thought...oh yeah I usedta love! this song and most things Chrissie! a totally rite on ez lesson, thanks!
wow. you have enlightened me. that song means a lot to me. oh can still play my own standards songs I grew up with songs I learned long ago but this song has been on my heart I've been told to learn it I don't know why but it just draws me it's awesome thank you
Thanks for the help on one of my favorite songs. And the variations of chords help us fit the song to our style. You saved me about four hours of transcription. Keep it up mate.
OMG, you are a genius! Thank you so much for posting this tutorial; being a somewhat beginning guitar player, I can't play B or even the B power chord yet. But taking the E shape and moving it to the 8th fret to play B and then to the 6th fret to play A is just what I needed! Thanks again, I will be learning this song from beginning to end tonight, until my fingers fall off!
Hi georgiarose16, hope you are well. Pretenders genius so concisely presented. I have also looked for 'Don't Get Me Wrong' tutored by you. Thank you from the UK.
I had never heard the English version till now... 😂 I just happened to watch this tutorial and learned that I've heard this song before but in Spanish... it's the famous fotos y recuerdos song that Selena sang even the Selena version has the original intro. Nice 👍
Hi... nice job and thanks for multiple voicing options... really nice touch... all of us struggling guitar players appreciate your time making these vids.... all the best! Also,...wanted to add, what seems to be a j200 has a inspiring tone. That's a keeper...
I love your vids there always excellent and you teach really good versions and no long intros my repertoire has grown since I found you there all really good songs I can sing on my own with nice little fills and the songs sound interesting thank you!!!
Wow sounds great! Love this song and your instructions make it easy for me to sound good. I've played this before with other chords and it never seemed good at all. Also takes balls to try and sing like Chrissy, no one can. Cheers from the states.
your guitar sound pretty good, very natural sounding, great lesson, just the words needed...merci Great Lesson! Cool chord changes. Vocals get the point across and help frame it . Great Job!
Thank you awesome lesson im enjoying many of your videos. My concern is if you have difficulties with Christies voice mines really gonna be brutal. Lol thanks again . Ed from Vancouver Canada

Great instruction, sir! All those distinct chord progressions in the song make it recognizable in a way that other videos just didn't cover. Bravo!
That realisation that you've been playing a song all wrong for years. Cheers for correcting me and shared with the guitarists in my family.
Smooth and patient teacher. Thank you so much! :) Wayne- Colorado
