Me voluntarily watching a video (mind you, all the way through) about Illinois is only something you can pull off my friend! This was a great watch, and I like the sense of humor and sound effects in the editing.
This is the kind of video I could see doing quite well and blowing up (even more than your other videos) due to how the editing/voicework is more laid-back and funny. Good video! 5:15 is probably gonna get you smite by the community though lol. That's a unique Studio C beta setup.
Illinois has alot of interesting stuff when it comes to CEC/Showbiz. From the unique stages to the animatronics in Volo. I'm happy to see you cover some of the stages, and I hope to see more great content from you!
Appreciate it man! Thanks for the support! And also thanks for filming the stages before they got removed or remodeled, your footage was SUPER helpful! Really thankful people like you are able to document stuff like that before it’s gone forever. Keep up the great work! 💛
Darien was actually my local as a kid. I remember that I had my birthday party there in 2011 when it still had the CEI bots. I went again back in November of 2022. It turns out those curtains that they used were from West Des Moines Iowa which is why West Des Moines only had their center stage curtains until their remodel. Those curtains are also not hooked onto a curtain track. Darien hasn’t had a curtain track since late 2011. Some guy just took zip ties and zip tied the curtains to the ceiling 😂
Nice video! I’m from Illinois myself so it’s cool to see others talk about “my” stores. One thing I’d like to mention is that Darien actually kept Pasqually’s brick wall, his platform, and the old big TV from Chuck’s stage for a while before being removed about a year or so later.
I grew up near Springfield and remember seeing the 3 stage as a little kid. Kind of weird to think the same bots are still there. The CU-1 stage might be unique but it looks pretty depressing, especially since those bots have seen better days. Hoping it becomes a retro store so they give the bots some repairs, or that they’re given to collectors.
I never knew that 2 of the “Studio 3 Stage” shows were actually a thing, I was only aware of the one with the curtains on the sides of the stage. But this was a really interesting video! I’d love to see more stuff like this
fun fact: pineville nc, hicksville ny, and yes, SPRINGFIELD, IL, were basically just announced to become legacy locations/retro stores (meaning the stages will be staying!)
The M.A.T.T.E.S.O.N. IL CEC location was my home Chuck E. Cheese (I miss that location with EVERYTHING IN MY SOUL 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭) then I looked at the one in Huntsville… little would ANYONE KNOW, since MOVING from Illinois and NOW living about 25… 30 minutes FROM Huntsville…. Thinking I would WORK at this location (giving me NOSTALGIA from my home CEC location with THEIR Bots) it is GRAVELY UNFORTUNATE that they met the demise of their fate… undergoing 2.0 👀🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭😭😭😭 I was GRIEF STRICKEN and could not barely FATHOM or STOMACH the very sight of seeing Huntsville in that state!!! However, in ALL of this (before moving from Illinois) I was BLESSED with the GRACIOUS OPPORTUNITY from God, to work at the CEC location in Joliet, where I worked as Game Room Attendant… and CHUCK E CHEESE HIMSELF 😄 (Best job I EVER HAD… and I got to LIVE OUT my Chuck Dreams/Fantasies lol 😅 like I had ALWAYS wanted to do…. 👀 Aspiring to be the NEXT A.R.O.N.Z.O. T.R.A.Y.L.O.R. 😆😆😆) And THEN, just shy before moving from Illinois to Alabama (I was ALSO GRACED to get to see Tinley Park’s animatronics ONE LAST TIME 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭) And I am FOREVER GRATEFUL for that!! So all in all, the Chicagoland CEC’S have a LOTTA HISTORY SIGNIFICANCE and RELEVANCE in my life, and I feel like this video did them well!!! Much love, and much respect 😌✌🏽❤️
Never thought i would see the fairview location mentioned, lol. It was my local for a while, and it's nice to hear someone talking about it and also talking about illinois stores in general as a resident of the state.
As someone who lives in Illinois, we were pretty lucky to have the Rocker stage in Rockford until they took it down (I unfortunately never got to see it in person)
Should of mentioned that Fairview Heights was a corp owned store gaining a Cyberamic stage well into once Studio C was mass installed. Also the fact Waukegan was a franchised locationed. Also it's a 1-Stage that's what people call it or a 1-Stage with 2-Stage props if you wanna give detail
I live in Illinois. My local is the Tinley Park store. I honestly have to just applaud the store for kind of making my RUclips channel. Without this. I would still be at the same stagnant place. I was today. The location is honestly still my home location. It's just ever since it got 2.0 i've never gone back
I'm curious, i grew up near the Batavia one. Is there any chance you have any history on it? I have vague memories of both a stage with 4 or 5 animatronics but also a studio c stage! Cheers! Also Waukegan is pronounced like "walk" then the letter "e" and then finally "gan" like "can"! "Walk e gan" Thanks for the great video haha!
@@BeachKai I greatly appreciate it and you did far better than I do with pronouncing most places! Moved to Milwaukee for college here and it's a nightmare haha! Thank you again for the great info and your time! I kinda fell down the rabbit hole of things the past couple days and it's been refreshing seeing folks put so much time and care into both preservation and sharing the surrounding history with others! I'm a computer engineering student, I really love music, and I grew up going to CEC from time to time so it's been a great time discovering this community! All the best again and if I can help with anything just let me know! C:
I hope the Springfield Illinois CU 1 Stage gets historically protected, as it's a unique setup with the CEI bots. 2.0 is just super depressing, from the blander colors to the blander designs, to the fact that the performers now have to be out a lot more often if they even bother to put on the CEC suit on at all, it really makes Chuck E Cheese just another bland pizza place. Which also prompts me to ask: why go to a 2.0 era Chuck E Cheese when there are other pizza/arcade hybrids that offer the same experience for less? And in the case of Mr. Gatti's Pizza: with higher quality pizza. I know I've said this a lot, but the pre-merger PTT era of Chuck E Cheese was the best, as the chain had better quality showtapes, characters, and theming. I'd even argue the merger hurt both Chuck E Cheese and The Rock A Fire Explosion equally.
So you're telling me...next year I can go back to volo AND see Chuck E. Cheese's stages??? (I'm headed back to Chi-town for another year of stem camp for context)
I don't understand why they couldn't fix the compressor, or even replace it?? Sure it's expensive asf but it's better than having the stage stick out like a sore thumb
Chuck E. Cheese in Chicago be like
You didn't mention Tinley
Can you do chucky e cheese in muncie indiana nobody has went over it
🤨
As a Chicago citizen, this is true
DOWN IN CHICAGO
SWAG LIKE CHICAGO

Thanks! Also interesting note! I believe I read that somewhere but wasn’t really 100% sure as I couldn’t find it anywhere else. Thanks for sharing!
WE NEED TO SAVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Springfield is not removing it's bots when it gets 2.0 I'm positive
Crazy
Funny that one of these unique stages is gonna end up being one of the last 5 stages to exist at all...

Illinois is simultaneously the best and worst state to be in for so many reasons, this being one of the many.
Long live Tinley Park
Nice video!
oh my god it’s wau-key-gan lol

I know what we should call the 3 stage/studio C we should call it Studio 3
