This was one of my and my wife's favourite when we moved into our new home after we married. After 46 years of perfect unconditional love, my soulmate (in every way) passed away - I think of her, and miss her, beyond belief, every second - she was my entire life, my entire world - all I want...is to be with her again.

This song brings tears to my eyes. I was married for 35 yrs. I tried to make a happy home for my husband. He passed. He never left me until death. Now I'm in another relationship. I'll try to make a happy home for him. As Gladys said "as long as there is peace with him". He's a tad younger and he deserves it.

For some reason I find this song deeply touching. That's less of a surprise when you learn it was produced by the wonderful Curtis Mayfield. What a guy. But then with Gladys & her boys doing the honours, it's not a surprise at all.
This song reminds me of Sunday morning. Sometimes we wouldn't go to church. My daddy would take us to the beach and mama would stay home and cook fish and grits and play music.

All those soul groups that started already forming in the 60’s but really had their hits later. Gladys, Marvin, the Dells, Spinners, OJays , Aretha , Barry White, Dramatics and Chaka. THAT WAS MUSIC,!!!
