Laura you are a lifesaver! I love succulents and cactus but am design challenged. Your ideas have helped so much. Thank you, I have learned so much from your videos
Thank you! I'd love more videos on other zones. I'm in Central Florida, zone 9b. You're so thoughtful to post this video for your fans that are in different zones than you.
I have learned so much about succulents since I started watching your channel. You’ve inspired me to try my hand at using succulents not only in containers but I recently created an in-ground succulent bed. I’m in zone 8 and this video confirms to me that I used the right kind of plants in my bed. Thank you for the knowledge and the inspiration!
OMG. THANK YOU. I live in 9A. Up by Redding Ca....been 110 for days on end and have been wanting a “dry” cactus/succulent area in my back yard......thanks to you I now have a direction to go in. This may be an old video, but it suits my needs to a t. So so happy, thank you Laura!!!!!!
So inspiring to see a video with plants specifically for even zone 9. It gets so blazing hot with lots of humidity. Keep them coming. Sure like when you show the names of the plants. Thanks!
Thank you so much Laura. I am in AZ 4800 feet zone 8b and I do have some of those plants already in my garden but the palm and the aloes I am definitely going to look into getting. I just this past spring purchased a Sahara Echeveria that had 6 pups and looked like crap for $20 brought it home cut it up reported them and with our monsoons they are doing wonderfully. Mother plant is throwing off a bloom or I think another pup not sure. Our sun is so intense here most sun loving plants need dappled shade to look their best. Thanks again for doing this video!
Love this again I am learning so much from you thank u I am in Australia sometimes super high temps then winter frosts no snow but in a month sept it starts to warm up I will do a garden bed otherwise beginning with pots so many plants to choose from it’s amazing love your work again thank you
Yes, thank you I'm from Florida so this works perfectly for me and my area ! I've been taking notes but it's like you answered all the what if questions 💕
Love all of your videos ! I'm in zone 8. This one really helped me. Love the arrangement ! Give Bentley a scratch behind the ears for me. I just love him. Big ham ! Lol, lol
Beautiful design. Living in the heat of South Texas, watching and learning from you, I've been inspired. I finally gathered the courage to take care of some of these succulents, and even made a small hanger pot for my mother as a gift. Thank you for encouraging us as you have done me, inspiring strength in us to grow these beautiful plants, and your continued effort providing these tips to help us grow along with our leafy friends.
Thank you Laura that's beautiful we have a huge Barrel Cactus and it's starting to get like the little balls on the top is that pups coming out and if that's the pups do we remove them and propagate them thank you
Thanks for always naming your specimens, rock & gravel types, soil types! What is the name of that spray that I've seen u use that keeps rocks looking wet??
That's excellent. When you use the word heat are you referring or including that they heat is from hours of full sun? So these can be in full sun for many hours and grow well? Thx B
Thanks for the magic as always! I love u and Bentley is always adorable. I'll ck your site to see if by chance you have a helpful links page to find zones, products you use or other specialty tips!
Thank you so much for this video! I've been waiting for a video like this so I could figure out how to do my own 9b succulent garden in the future. However, I am having a hard time finding large specimen plants, such as your echeveria sahara, at my local garden centers. Is there a source that you would suggest?
So i live in a zone 12 that gets lots of water and everything grew except the barrel cactus it grew a blackness on the bottom of the barrel. My question is does it matter how much rain it gets or is it my soil?
You are awesome Laura! I absolutely love your channel and love your dedication to succulents! Could you please recommend the best way to take care of the smaller succulents in a zone 8? Our area just north of Sacramento gets pretty hot outside with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees. However, inside we keep our house at 68-70 degrees. Would you recommend I grow my succulents inside or can they handle being on the patio without direct sunlight? Appreciate your help in getting my succulents the best chance to survive :)
Trial and error is the best teacher! Try them out on the patio, but keep a close eye. Long term, they likely won't do well exclusively indoors. Acclimation to outside is best. Have patience and faith in your instincts! Good luck❤️
Hello !! Tennessee gal here 😊.. I would LOVE an outdoor succulent garden however it's crazy weather here... Super cold in winter.. then 98+ in summer with rainfall in abundance.. could you suggest some plants for my area ? Thank you!!
Hi Laura!! I stumbled onto your channel by accident and now I'm hooked! Every night before bed I watch at least 2 or more of your videos...I have a system and I started at your very 1st video and now I'm here at "succulent design zones 8-12" I just went online to USDA plant hardiness website and I'm in zone 9B. I have started implementing some of your tip of the days and have made small arrangements using cuttings and hopefully when I'm up to date with your videos I can start to work more on my yard. I would love some ideas of what to do with my yard. I have a very unusual property (compared to all my neighbors) and I really need some ideas of how to tackle the landscape. Do you ever travel to do landscape design? Anyhow...you may not even see this post...but if you do, tell me how I can get in touch with you...I would even be interested in coming to SD area to help with some of your design installations!
I love your work. I'm 9b and plant the succulents that you use in your area. I do see here in the California Bay Area the same succulents you use down south. Do they not grow as well here in the north?
phenomenalgrl I feel you! I'm on the hunt for some that will last longer than a week. Currently, I'm buying at Home Depot, too. I'll let you know if I find some good ones.
This arrangement will work here in Corona Ca correct? I am planning to do this design to my front yard, but I am kinda scared😱, but you inspire me so much and I have been doing little arrangements here and there...don’t know😩....
Hi Laura good morning:) what does "specimen" mean? I have a big curl echevaria i planted together in a pot with mother in laws tongue. Was that a good grouping? Thank you ♡
Carolina "specimen" simply refers to a plant that is lovely enough to stand alone! All plants that have similar light and water needs are considered "compatible" Your sansevieria and Echeveria should be very happy together💕
Ms.Laura, I can't seem to find your email. I have a question about a succulent type of mushroom growing in my planter. I'm in South Texas, zone 9b. Can I send it to you by email?
Love watching your process Laura!

Thank you Laura that's beautiful we have a huge Barrel Cactus and it's starting to get like the little balls on the top is that pups coming out and if that's the pups do we remove them and propagate them thank you
Dallas Guidroz you can remove and replant or just let it ride. I’m letting it ride as I lake the look of all of the barrels clumped together.
That was awesome! Thank you!
May I please know the music? It's wonderful!
What about zone 7 or lower? Could you do a video on that sometime please?
Ardo Con I'm working on it!
Laura Eubanks, Yay!
Thanks for always naming your specimens, rock & gravel types, soil types! What is the name of that spray that I've seen u use that keeps rocks looking wet??
hollyjoyn wetlook 2000 or Glaze and Seal
I really like this. Very helpful.
That's excellent.
When you use the word heat are you referring or including that they heat is from hours of full sun?
So these can be in full sun for many hours and grow well?

Hi Laura, Can you do a video on pulling the pups off the barrel catcus please. thanks

shadey538 it was just for demonstration! I broke it all down after the video.

The succulent dog Bentley is listening to everything you say, Laura. But he’d rather let you do the work. 😃

Brenda Jenkins depends on your microclimate. Many of the softer succulents are sensitive to temps above 90F and below 40F.
That 🐶 is bigger than you!! The echeveria is my fave.
Most of all I love the dog
I love your gloves. I keep wearing through mine (purchased at Home Depot). Do you recommend a brand?
phenomenalgrl I feel you! I'm on the hunt for some that will last longer than a week. Currently, I'm buying at Home Depot, too. I'll let you know if I find some good ones.

How do you know when to water when the rock is covering the dirt?
Rose Eshe push the rock aside and check the soil for dampness.
I love your work, I just wish I could grow succulents like that. I live in Canada, Zone 2...I grow better snowmen...
