Love it man! You should really keep doing this kinda stuff. There aren’t many youtubers who cover aircraft maintenance and as a new A&P myself, it’s very cool and informative seeing what working as an A&P is like. So keep doin you man!

Interesting rolling box. Like it. I think you can squeeze a lot more in but it’s looking great. Good job on cutting the foam. Hard to do well. Watching from Ontario Canada

I just found your channel recently and as a fellow A&P I'm really enjoying your content! I'd recommend you take some of those silica gel snack packs that come with shoes and electronics and stuff and throw a few of those in your box. They prevent your tools from rusting. I'd also highly recommend you get a magnetic socket tray that stores the sockets horizontally. You don't have to shadow that area and it lets you take all your sockets with you out of the box if you need it. They normally store the standard and deep sockets and have a pretty small footprint. Personally I don't like the box wrenches laid out one by one so I store mine in canvas or leather tools wraps. It keeps them organized and takes up very little space in your drawer although depending on how many wrenches you put in them you might need a drawer that's at least 1.5" or 2". I really like your Bosch drill too, I have to steal that part number...

Out of passing interest, Knipex makes & sells replacement button assembly kits for all their push button pliers, They come with a new pivot pin, button 'cap', leaf spring & screw. I 'think' yours takes a P/N 8709180 kit (but double check before ordering). Currently under $12.00 on Amazon. It's an ezpz job, give the cap and screw a little dab of Loctite, & press down the button cap before installing the spring. IIRC, the replacement screw is a T8 Torx.
Those Knipex parallel smooth jaw 'Pliers Wrenches' are very much more useful than they look!
Oh, and stay the hell off those tool trucks! If not in a hurry, everything imaginable can be had for pennies on the dollar off eBay etc. Life's too short to be slaving away for some tool truck guy! Just saying...

    • @aerocrafty6006

I am a certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic. It cost me around $1,700 dollars for all the test because I didn’t go the school route. I went the 3 years apprenticeship way. But to get the certification I hold and your looking at schools, they cost anywhere from $40,000-$60,000 but you can finish the education in one year instead of three.

check your local community colleges. very cheap compared to schools like AIM or something. check on FAA website, there should be list of approved AMT programs.

I bought the one Snapon has. But craftsman make a great one. The only thing about Snapon one is it comes calibration date and due date which is good for FAA audits.

Having just begun A&P school, I’ve started to invest in some tools. Can you confirm or deny that aviation is all SAE based fasteners? I’ve heard this from other sources but figured it depended on the country of manufacture. I’m assuming that all American produced GA planes like Cessna or Piper are SAE but was curious if you’ve ever come across the need for a metric tool? Thanks for these videos; gets me excited for the start of my career.
