Good stuff! I use a 1700 case (basically a gun case). Every place I go to has a oil drum or trash can that I can set it up on. I utilize the top for tools as well and used picture frame hinges and bungee to help keep tools on the lid from falling out when TSA goes through it. Pro tip, if you carry heavy things, mount them on the “bottom” portion so that when you’re lugging it through the airport the foam settles towards the bottom and stops, vs settling and squishing the rest of the tools over time.
Great video! Nice job keeping every tool under 7 inches to avoid getting taken away by the TSA. Had to throw my parktool breaker bar away because it is "too dangerous "
Agreed. Tried to take bike tools on my carry on for a domestic Canadian flight. Cone wrench heads were too long. I turned them in to lost and found and had my buddy claim them.
Instead of tracing around the tool, make a photocopy of the tools (or scan and print), cut the contour of the image of the tool. Trace (for better precision) or cut around the image directly. Youll do a more precise and clean job than tracing around the tools themselves and the fit will be better and you'll appreciate it when traveling a lot.
To take full advantage of these photocopies you can also use the images to draw their contours on your tool pegboard or better yet, cut the shape from colored vinyl tape and place on the pegboard as I did. With these image on the pegboard, the tools always go back in the same spot, you know what tool is missing if working in a shop environment involving many mechanics and it looks amazing not to mention very professional !
yep its a bit overkill but gets you a better fit- I upped the over the top-ness by then using my work laser to cut my foam layers. (not kaizen foam thou)
I declare and bring my Leatherman (without knife every flight) they also now have a list of tools allowed to include multi tools, basically, don't bring a gun, knife, or sword, oh, and please no bombs or weapons of mass destruction. Easy .

How to do you make a photocopy of the tools?
@@rodrigomoreira5519 - Simply put it flat on the glass of the photocopier as if it was paper, close the lid as much as possible ... and press copy.
Killer idea!

I take the piece you cut out and slice the top layer off then stick in the hole spot it came from then it doesn’t look so bad when the tool is removed
How sweet people share such a wealth of knowledge.... experience,,, thanks
Our pleasure!
Sure people with money
Great video, in my workshop I have tools from Unior, Pedros, SuperB and IceToolz.
Oh never mind I see that a accessory for pelican case
Nice. Did you get it all setup?
now I need to save money to get this setup 😩
How did he attach the bags to the lid?
Very nice!! But those foam layers are so thick!! Is that necessary?
Hi Reid, the thick players are necessary for the thicker tools.
Do you take that as a carry-on a plane?
What mesh bags did you use to put the ATC mesh bags in for the lid? How did you attach the mesh bags that stay attached to the lid?
Its a lid organiser sold by Peli. You buy the whole thing complete and it sticks into the lid.
a video done really well, I will definitely take inspiration to create my tool box,
very good
Tanks Antonio. What do you have planned for you box? Would love to see some shots when you get it all dialed in.

did you get the mesh 5-pocket lid insert from ATC? or was that home-brewed? cheers!
"Carry-on compatible" -- LOL!
Bob Watkins possibly the worst one of all the films, although carry on Columbus and carry on Emmanuel were pretty bad
Just gotta put the long tools in the bike bag!
I will buy one to fit my computer in it :D
Hey! Sweet set up!
What thickness of foam did you use for this?
Thanks!
Dan
Hi Dan, this set has the following foam filler:
One convoluted-foam lid
Two 2" Kaizen™ foam for the middle
One 1.75" Kaizen™ foam for the bottom
Check out kaizeninserts.com/t/pelican-case for custom sizing as well.
Brilliant idea, but those Pelican boxes are soooo heavy 🥴
Great job I will stack kaizen for my dewalt tstak storage''!
Hello. What is the height of the kaizen foam you used in the peli case 1510?
Two 2" pieces and one 1.75" peice. The foam was purchased pre-made from www.thecasestore.com/shop/foam/pelican/kaizen-foam/kaizen-1510-4pc-foam-set
Nice inspiration for my upcoming toolbox 💪🏼 thanks for the good video
Ok but HOW DID NO ONE notice the two wrenches swinging in the background? spooky
You got an eye for details! C I A is hiring 😉
TSA does not allow any tools on carry on baggage.
As long as the tools are under 7 inches they let them on. You can fly with this kit if you pack the longer tools separately in your bike bag.
Yes they do if they are under 7 inches in length.

Every tool in that case would fit in a small handbag..
Pics or it didn't happen.
Calls Knipex Channellocks lol
@interceptor it just has a better ring than Knipex 7-inch Alligator Pliers Part #8801180
@@artscyclery875 Lol spot on mate!
其實你沒裝幾樣東西,不要海綿,全部散在裡面,不會找不到東西,因為你工具太少了。
