I know you can ALL guess how I managed to beat this dumb Akuma Boss! You all should try beating it too. If you have fought this boss before, let me know in the comments how it went for you!

Justin getting a taste of what so many of his tournament opponents have felt for years 🤣🤣
Haha Foreal tho
Sweet vengeance. 😋
Bruh for a sec I thought this guy was unbeatable
Akuma said otherwise 😂😂😂
Yeah, spamming the safe dive kick.

I hate how they didnt give a stage for Akuma on this one, feels like he is just walking around the city beating up people.
That is very in character actually 😂
I saw the “Frame 1?!” In the thumbnail and clicked as I shouted “I MUST KNOW!”

I think I recall spending 5 hours trying to beat THIS akuma using Ken
After watching this I recall how much of a menace this boss was, I beat him with both Ryu and Ken, it took about 30 minutes with Ryu, and around 5 hours for Ken, and yes, I killed him both rounds
@@kaiserbts8007 what tactics did you use
@@slingshotdon I don't recall it all exactly since it was years ago but it boiled down to a few things:
Trying to predict where Akuma would throw his ground fireballs and trying to get a jump-in
Constantly abusing crouching light kicks into a sweep to get some sort of damage, probably by looking at where he would use his super teleport, and if I couldn't do that, just sweep
If I woke up next to him or thought he was going for an attack right next to me, immediately using a super
Trying to avoid fireball wars
Unfortunately couldn't use an alpha counter since he was too random, he's just too hard normally, that super teleport really defined how hard he was
@@kaiserbts8007 apparently if u die a certain amount of times and cpu has full health bar or high percentage of health left in succession it activates an slightly easier A.i.
Took me a damn long time also. Recorded a video of that win followed up with a 1cc afterwards. Neutral jump roundhouse ultra-lame tactics for the win.
Justin forgot what game he was playing a few times. He kept throwing out single attack pokes which could have been magic series chained into stronger attacks.
When I first got into the FGC, SF4 and MVC3 were the main games, so back then I didn't get why ppl called you lame, you were hype as hell. Nowdays, watching you play all these old school games, I realise that was a well earned title lol.
The most distinctive thing is how he enjoys it.
Justin is cool af .

The sequence starting at 6:29 was brutal 🤣
I know it’s purely because the CPU was input reading but the sequence at 6:30 is so clean. The way it covers options is so smooth
I landed a sequence like that on a friend once and he asked me “are you reading my mind, wtf”
If you can get a Sega Saturn emulator, the Super Akuma in Alpha 2 on the hardest difficulty makes this Akuma look like child’s play.
Is he harder than Cyber Akuma?
is that exclusive to the sega saturn version?
@@Heowolf He was playable on the Playstation version as well though the pattern to get him selectable was different from the Saturn.
But because hes so offensive its really easy when you catch him once otherwise “you already dead!”
@@boitahaki Tough to compare with different mechanics of the games but I would say yes. The Saturn Super Akuma was polling your control inputs to counter with the best possible response with more damage to boot. If you were Ryu and performing a Fireball the computer knows it based on the motion even before you finish with whichever strength punch you would have selected. It's a different type of unfairness compared to something like Mortal Kombat II where the computer will throw you out of a sweep attempt every single time.
I feel so much better about myself, thanks Justin.
Took me 80 matches to finish SF2 the other day. 60 of those were Claw and Dictator.
When i beat super Turbo on the Anniversary edition it took me over 99 matches because it stopped counting at 99 😆
Zangief was like 50 tries
This version of Akuma was a pain to deal with, but Alpha 2's Shin Akuma was worse for me, but in my case I deliberately disable the timer, that way only by KO I can win.
There u go no runnin out the clock shizz strait up puttin in work
Bosses like this are so frustrating, yet watching someone else get bodied by them is actually fun 😆
Akuma is just the best character Capcom ever made fighting game wise. I mean not saying he is ultimate in every game he appears in, but this guy can just do some truly insane BS.
he's my favorite video game character, period. Makes you feel like you're fighting a demon, and his fighting style is so cool
It's so damn good that he made the Tekken fanbase CRY. A lot.
This CPU is doing Akuma some mad justice. 🤣
That monkey scream every time Justin misses is always funny. Justin's content is just so wholesome. It always makes my day.
The boss in Eternal Champions had all elemental forms if I recall correctly, while you only have 2 chances to beat it... so yeah, beatable yes, insanely frustrating for sure.
The only tough forms was the dragon and shark. Other than that he wasn't too horrific. Challenge from the dark side was easier because of infinites.
If I was playing a shadow I was never losing at that game!!

I feel SF Alpha/zero had the best representation of Akuma. Its also the best street fighting experience I had.
2:33 I noticed Akuma just high kicked and crouched high kicked at the same time ! It s like you were playing against MVC Akuma
Ryu: Melee don't work.
Chun-li: So let's be a zoner!
This looks like something that Max should do as part of a Boss Rage.
Nooo
Dat man max done stopped boss rage since 2017 I think
I like how Justin wins the game with his own strategy !!
This game is absolutely one of the best fighting games ever made, and i think is alo a litle bit underrated. The mechanics, the chain combos, the new visual style, it was mind blowing for me.
I dont know why but that throw sound effect at 3:59 was hilarious
This is actually the hardest arcade version you can play him on , the sfa alpha anthology collection for the ps2 , it took me a lotta losses too , but the best strategy is to jump kick him as soon as you are off the ground and watch for his sudden teleports and quick reaction supers , he basically counteracts everything you throw at him , which is why you need to tackle him from the air , also in this version the chain combos come out a lot faster , notice how he is able to pull off an almost 16 hit combo with his fireball super , its insanely hard to block , if he gets it on you he connects all hits everytime ..., but nevertheless it takes patience to learn his patterns in this version .... :)
Reminds me of the Simpsons. "What do you do for a living?" Homer's relative "My legs hurt"
Also an additional thing about Akuma, you better pray your CPU opponent/whoever is playing with you in dramatic battle against Akuma knows how to beat Akuma like this or knows how to play around him, he can destroy your health bar if you both get hit by any of his supers/special moves
My brother and I replayed the dramatic battle against bison is street fighter alpha 3 about a thousand times
When one of us lost they other would go for revenge , it was so epic
Justin just felt what's like to play against Justin being a casual
FINALLY. THIS IS THE ONLY SF I KEEP PLAYING IN YEARS
3:27 the walking made me laugh 🤣
Anything to bring me closer to beating 3rd Strike with no losses. Running strat is cool, but Gill will catch me every time
The Best parts are the monkey whiff sound effect
Being lame against an unfair AI is a matter of survival
Man, I played this game so much when I first got it. For one thing, it was the only game i had for a while. I used to perfect the whole game on the hardest difficulty, including Akuma, and get master rank at the end. I think it had a team mode too where you fight Super M. Bison with ryu n ken🤔. Sorry, but I think the Alpha series is the sickest of the street fighters.
props to whoever programmed that Akuma
I remember this so well.. Shin Akuma was a real problem.. broken controllers.. walking away from the game.. I remember landing on the ground after a getting attacked resulted in instant Raging demon. I cant lie though this dude made me develop true skill. By the time Alpha 2 came out i was doing point blank super air fireballs like Vegita's Big Bang attack. My favorite akuma move was the air roll that can be turned to a jump kick, sweeping kick and air fireball
6:09 - That chip damage.
I used to best this on 8 star difficulty in under 30 minutes, all perfects with Sodom. Never knew you could get to him like this. There's tricks like jump back kick full screen always baits a super etc.
All perfects on the hardest difficulty? This comment is suspect
@@ironmictv It's true. I didn't even main Sodom, I didn't use him at all in fact, but I found a few patterns that screwed up the AI. Yes, it's true. People speed run Mario in under 5 minutes, and I was devoted to the game and none of my friends would play me. I basically spammed a lot of st.rhxx360rh and cr.rh. As I said, I learned how the AI would react, so at some point it's just a matter if execution lie a combo trial. I'd get super salty if I got hit because I'd start all over.
I see Jwong + Alpha and I tell my wife to stop talking and leave my presence so I may watch in peace
I wonder if there's really a strategy to beat him properly. It's an old game so somebody must have figured it out by now.
Appropriately I don't believe but giving him back what he does, maybe, for example if you notice sometimes when you throw a stand weak punch 1:26 , Akuma jumps, that's a way of predicting what he will do.
I have a video of a victory with Ken Vs this Akuma, without timing out. Ultra-lame neutral jump roundhouse tactics did the trick for me.
I was good enough at SFA to reliably fight Akuma at the end, and I still only beat him once. Through sheer luck. Amazed that there's a viable strat for him!
I never really played Alpha but the stage is interesting to me. It's a reference to Bruce Lee vs Chuck Norris fight at the Colosseum in Rome. Complete with cat.
Playing the computer makes it feel like your inputs are actually a pre-programmed computer response, lol.
Jwong rocking that beastars shirt.
The easiest way i beat Akuma is, wait, bait with a whiff jab from anywhere and HP or HK when he's close. The Alpha games had pissed off CPU not smart
I'm from the war gamer community, and it's the same old arguments, playing lame enrages people there to, but truth is, it's often the way to win
Napoleon learned that. All the Russians had to do was stall.
J Wong is a beast wit these fighting games but dude is also a very funny man. I legit be cracking up every video😂.
Ken was best vs him cause Ken had the SUPERIOR DRAGON PUNCH BETWEEN THE 2 OF THEM...
Not really since the ai Akuma has invincible frames in his DP when jumping all the way up while Ken loses the invincible frames going half way up. if Akuma does his at the same time as you then he will knock Ken from his DP.
Imagine this Akuma in a competition !
The way too o beat him with no suffer is air to air ,he always challenges air to air ,also doing this you avoid 1 frame super reactions ,this works in alpha 2
Really good editing and content
thanks homie
Shotos have been input reading/counter DP'n since world warrior.
Try playing against comp Ken 8th character Sf2WW all he does is walk at you, if you press a button, get dp'd if you dont, get thrown.
Justin killing it with these uploads lately. Keep it up, GOAT!
The devs made the Ai inspired by early Snk fg's. I wish the later Capcom fg's kept this kind of Ai.
Capcom made SFA2 more balanced because casuals and kids refused to play. Arcade operators started complaining and threatened to stop purchasing Street Fighter games. Sure you may think Capcom shouldn't pander to the casuals but they made up the majority of arcade customers. SNK refusing to listen to their customers is why they went bankrupt in the first place. And for a game company that focused on fighting games, it is a major mistake.
Just do a lp far from Akuma and he reads your input and do its supers from full screen and he will be always with empty meter. Do a lp near when Akuma is fallen, he will do a dp and you punish him. The trick is to just conter his input read.
This video is giving me flashbacks of this hellish fight. Went through this about a year ago with Ken, and learned through several ass-whoopings that this version of Akuma is made to punish you if you play normal Street Fighter. Trying to punish him when you normally would be able to, is too risky. I found the key to be neutral jump roundhouse. Shuts down a lot of his BS.
I am a normal human you the great Justin Wong... Commit and beat akuma
I used to beat akuma in alpha 1 arcade the old fashioned way by winning without losing a round, i found it easier to do it with birdy and ken coming second, you have to be really careful and dont mess around with combos, sweep him as he lands and use slow fire balls, and short dragon punches, but for some reason he is really vulnerable to birdies short range super combo grab, i had it down to an art to the point I had a few people watching at any one time.
Brings back memories, I beat him a couple of times. I used Ken.
Great feature they put in Alpha/Zero
I guess be a bit more aggressive. When he throws a fireball, you dragonpunch through it.
In general more dragonpunches and also Ken's special. But yeah it can be over pretty quickly if you let him dictate
Justin you have the best Strategy playing Chun-Li against Shin Akuma! Next time use
Her lightning kick super to counter his fireballs!
yo the throw and the sound effect at 3:59 killed me, i'm dying lol
"I am power incarnate, feel my wrath and cowe....huh? Time ran out? Aww shucks, well then I guess I'll just go home. Say hi to the kids Chun!"
How was I even supposed to know I wasn’t subscribed. RUclips recommends this every time u upload something.
I remembered playing this cat on my friends japanese version. This one isn't as tough as the SSF2T on the 3DO. Because they had better spoon fed defense tools in alpha.
Try to beat magneto in X-Men Cota on the highest difficulty, that's another cheap boss you have to play lame to beat 😆
Hell, Magneto on 3 stars is bad enough. He's one of the few Capcom bosses that I think are as bad as most SNK bosses.
Isn't that the one where Hyper Grav is unblockable?

I remember it took me about 35 tries to beat Akuma in the Playstation version of Alpha one. All of the sudden I feel better seeing Justin lame his way to victory here. It's not (only) that I was not good at SF, but the fight is legitimately hard.
Man, I remember I had this battle memorized/ingrained in my DNA after playing it so many times in alpha 2.. it's exactly the same in alpha 2 (with Ryu). You cannot give him a single opportunity to land the single frame super.. training against this battle will make you such a better player. Good memories... lmao Also, this battle is 10x funner if you don't run...
No it's not the same. I beat Akuma in alpha 2 using sakura and i consistently managed to take him rounds. But in alpha 1 not a chance.
I fact checked the thumbnail.
It's not a frame one projectile, but it has 6 frames of startup which is pretty fast.
Info taken of off Akuma's entry on the SRK Wiki.
If you think i'm wrong please reply with your feedback.
Justin you gotta play Alpha 2. Shin Akuma on that game is unbeatable I swear.
Facts 💯
true!
first time? this was an issue with alpha 2 too , cpu reads inputs, has frame 1 react, does 2 or 3x more dmg than you depending of how far you are etc....
Hey J, Idgaf what anyone says cause, One Quarter, One Chance to when the game. So THIS IS GOLDEN and so are you J!! Thanks again for sharing your point of view!! Cheers!
Damn I remember Akuma coming out on SFHD Remix and I must have played him 50 straight matches before I won and even after winning I felt like... Ok the computer let me win
When I Started watching you saying in the first matches "l play lame... super lame" .... and watching you playing fair and square... trying to match akuma-CPU-inhuman-reaction-SuperMoves toe-to-toe xD!..............., but at the end you reach very quickly to the same conclusion that I saw in arcades from people who defeat Akuma .. run and jump, wait to akuma to spend his super-bar and also wait to an opportunity to make akuma eat a level-3-super-move, great gameplay and video!
Goenitz from 96, all other e bosses from NGBC and Magneto from CotM are great options
Edit: CotA, actually
Try to beat Super Akuma on Street Fighter Alpha 2, he’s a secret boss. If I not wrong, you need to finish any round with a perfect or super combo

LMAO😂😂😂 you did the EXACT strategy I and I'm sure many others did when this SF game originally was released. You had no other choice on beating this version of Akuma no way.
I used to beat Akuma all the time with Sagat it was ridiculous.
Street fighter alpha 1 > Street fighter alpha 2
The best way to beat akuma with Chun-Li is to use jumping medium kick a lot and wall jump using the headstomp with medium kick because he's going to use a lot of fierce attacks and your medium kick is going to Trump his fierce..
Let me throw in a boss who I think you cannot beat, Gil on Street fighter 3 third strike for Sega Dreamcast! That dude is a block of pure cheddar and I would love to see you beat him specifically on the Sega Dreamcast version! And for an honorable mention I would like to also throw in pyron on the PlayStation version of dark stalkers because it took me all night to beat that game once lol.

If you want a better challenge, try challenging Shin Akuma in Street Fighter Alpha 2 or Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold.
I was cheering so hard when Justin started running away with Chun li.
Akuma in the SFA games and SF3 from an AI standpoint its certainly easier compared SSF2T. Everytimes he pressures TF with aerial hadoukens and he knows exactly when and where he's going to grab u on the either side of the screen and just one jump in results in a devasting combo.
Akuma is very strong but he's a glass cannon.
SFA Akuma: Let me introduce myself.
As someone who constantly played against the computer in Alpha 1 for the PS1 on 8 stars with Ryu, whether in Arcade vs CPU or Dramatic Battle... yeah, Akuma is beatable. I'd never swing on Akuma on his wakeup, you crazy lol. I think the only thing that beats his wakeup DP is Ken's DP... (Not cleanly obviously)
I love this version of Akuma. It's the first real version of him in a SF game. Unique sprite (standing at least), full moveset with supers. I loved how he looked casting level 3 Messatsu Go Hadou. His fireballs were even unique. His roll was trash. His music tracks, the best.
Also, I never saw the time over icon in SFA1 until now LOL.
Edit: Try Alpha 2 Shin Akuma. No votes for A3's since personally I felt that one was too easy.
Naw I'd go in. More exciting that way. At least if I lost I went down swinging.
