every time I listen to this I feel like my soul gets cleansed
one thing i never really understood with emo music though i guess ive been listening to it for like 8 years is why so many mainstream emo artists rap about shit that happened when they were 17, like literally children. especially when it comes from the perspective of a full grown ass man.
when you want to put out a fire, where do you throw water? at the base. same with trauma, you must know when it started and "attack" the source. No point in trying to fight old trauma by thinking about recent events.
Our minds trap us in that moment. With that moment comes all the 5 sinces. Memories are very powerful. All those emotions can come rushing back. It's the close we ever get to time travel.
The main actor in this (Ryan) used to be my best friend and we had a unexpected falling that might’ve been deserved idk fully why it even happened but I wanted to listen to this song because today I just felt some weird nostalgia and loneliness and I forgot that he was in this. I’m so proud of him and so so sad that he probably won’t ever be in my life again, I’m in tears just seeing him remembering all of the good times and real conversations we had. He was such a good friend and now I don’t have any idea of what he’s up too. I hope you see this one day Ryan I miss you so much man
