Is there still anyone lying on bed, reminiscing memories with this song after 8 years passed? Thought i was over shit that i've been through but seems like it would never go away and i am just trying not to think about it. This song is more than everything said in the verse, everytime i listen to this closing my eyes i feel like the whole past time scenes playing in my head, where i was hanging out with those neighbour kids who are now drugs addicts and criminals, when my grandpa was carrying me on his bike to school, making joke of me that i was fat like a piggy, he committed suicide 7 years ago leaving me completely numbless that i didnt know what to do and how to feel. Idk but sometimes my mind would reminisce the past automatically and i couldnt control haha. It's the midnight sitting at a coffee shop working overnight and youtube just lead me to this old fav song made me wanna "gossip" but i have nobody so im just writing down here.
I hope y'all now have a wonderful life as how y'all deserve. Stay safe and take care

I come back to this song pretty often too. For me it's a song about my wasted potential. I was a clever and ambitious kid. I didn't drink, smoke, or do drugs. I wanted a lot out of life. I changed in college. I guess my depression caught up to me. I finished school with a degree, but I was a husk. A walking corpse. It's been years since then. I never found a job with my degree. I've had highs and lows. I sold my soul for a degree, and I've been picking up the pieces ever since. I'll always come back to this song because there have been many nights where all I've wanted to do is leave a stain on the wall near my bachelor's.

This song isnt just about hating your job. Its about regretting choosing to leave the things that actually matter behind for things that dont. The lyrics says good times skateboarding with his friends, with the people he's bonded to was traded for a good wage and benefits. But whats the benefit if, in search of healthcare, we dont care for our hearts? All the markings of a made life is only going to make a life of regret. Dont just grab life by the horns , also grab everyone you love and never let go.

You know what sucks about life? Even if you hold on to those you love the most, that doesnt mean that they wont let go. Sometimes we lose the people we need the most, just because they dont need us, even though were trying our hardest to keep them by our side.

Seeing n,n. come from rock bottom to making colllabs with dashboard confessional and nearly 1mil view videos on RUclips, garnering a huge fanbase, makes me happy. Happy that music this heartfelt is still appreciated by millions and millions of people. Thank you n,n. And thank you if you're reading this and you are a fan of n,n. Because, aside from his personal talent and drive to succeed, you are the reason n,n. can continue to make such amazing music.

+escuse me Same here. I've changed jobs so often because I have yet to find a job that I spend all day everyday on that I really like.. Almost all of the people around me say that this will be bad for my future. That I need to get a good job and stay in it so I'll be able to make a career out of it and pay my future children and wife.
But all that is not what I want in life. I don't want to spend my whole fucking life on working from 9-5 everyday, marry a woman, have children, have lots of money, buy a house for my family, etc. etc.
That's just not what I want. And people judge me for not wanting that. They literally judge me for wanting to do what I like to do instead of following the system that pretty much everyone follows. Something is going wrong in this world...
I know my way out of it though. I will start working part-time soon. Where I am from this still earns me enough money to live off of it. Just not with any luxury bullshit (that no one actually NEEDS anyways). This way I will have free time to concentrate on producing music. I don't care about how this will affect my future or how anyone feels about it. It's what I will be happy with. I'm not gonna waste my life doing something I hate and then realize I'm too old to do the things I actually wanted to do.

    [Hook]
A couple quarters in my pocket
A few dollars in my wallet
    I've been doing well
    I've been working overtime
    Couple cars in my garage
    Can you see me now
Haven't heard from you in months
I wonder what you're running from
    Can we talk it out
And at night I go to bed
I see the reaper in my head
    Won't you kill me now
    Seeing through these curtains
Spending too much time in my bed
    Only thing I know now
I've got too much time on my hands
You've got too much blood on yours
You got what you asked for, yeah
    [Verse 1]
Time to grow up, get a real job
    5:35 at the bus stop
Heard they got benefits, and it's evident
That you got what it takes to get to the top
Know you been going through things
But you can feel better when the money comes in
And every night you can question your life
While you stare at the ceiling
    No fucking feelings
    [Verse 2]
Bringin it bringin it back to the good ol' days
To the run down park where we used to skate
Paul and Connor John Bert and Lopez
Not one day did I feel this hopeless (god damn)
And they try to get me to go to therapy, please
No human alive could revive my mind
Would you think it's a lie
If I said I was fine
    [Hook]
A couple quarters in my pocket
A few dollars in my wallet
    I've been doing well
    I've been working overtime
    Couple cars in my garage
    Can you see me now
Haven't heard from you in months
I wonder what you're running from
    Can we talk it out
And at night I go to bed
I see the reaper in my head
    Won't you kill me now
    [Verse 3]
Swear to god I've been trying
    I've been just finding
All of the things that I keep in my mind
But I can't even write them
    Let alone say it
I'm losing my mind while I'm losing my patience
At the end of the day I'm amazed
At the pain you'll sustain for a paycheck
So it's back to the basics
I'm picturing life when the music don't pay
    In an all black Acura
Got the kids in the back and the wife in the passenger
    Man I've been spectacular
Got my own office and a gun in the cabinet
See I'm thinkin' about blasting it
Leave a stain on the wall near the frame of my bachelor's

This song and video spoke to me on so so many levels.
Everybody grows up and some of us go to school and get "real" jobs but it's not what we truly want, we just want to be kids forever. Spending days at the skatepark with all my friends when I was younger are times that I'll cherish forever and wish they lasted forever. What you do in life is ultimately your choice but there's just certain time periods you'll never get back.
I also love the mixing of hiphop and alternative rock type music, I feel like a lot of skaters that are 18-26ish all grew up on the same type of shit and that's so dope to me.

Don't live to work, work to live. Do what you love. I'm 19 and just starting college and I've been struggling with this immensely. I'm one of the ones fortunate to be going into a career which allows me to create and express myself. It's a sad life if you don't leave anything behind, or take anything with you. Do what makes you happy, because no salary will be able compensate for the experiences you push away.

There are many things in life that hurt.
    Regret is a scary one.
But even worse is the fear of regretting.
The fear that something won't be worth it.
And that something will be wrong.
That somewhere in your life, you're going to fuck up so bad that you'll feel as though you wasted all your time unto that point.
So all you gotta know is.
    Pain is something beautiful too.
Just because you're living doesn't mean that you're not dying.
We're dying and living at the same time.
Regrets are deep, they expand what we feel.
Without regret we couldn't appreciate happiness
I know a lot of you know this already.
But sometimes I feel like people should remember it.
If you weren't so sad, if you couldn't cry.
Then what's the point of being happy?
If you couldn't feel every feeling, even the bad ones.
What's the point of living, without dying?
Also, when the dude is typing at 0:37, LOL FK IM GOING TO CRY

First time watching this. My apartment is cold but as the view cut to the ocean I felt a rush of heat through my entire body like what you feel when you’re embarrassed. The feeling wasn’t embarrassment for me though but rather a release. I’ve hated my job for a while - like a year or two now but time really got warped by the pandemic. Living vicariously through the video, the ocean felt like the moment of escape from an artificial, digital, greedy, inhuman corporate bubble and back into the loving arms of the natural world. I hope I get to feel the warmth of that freedom for real soon.

You don’t need to live a life of other’s expectations. Be what you want.
This song has a back-and-forth nature. Two different ideologies on
doing well and how they relate, or don’t relate, to happiness (doing
    well).
