Another thing you can do is make blobs in the general shape of the highlights you want and then erase the ends of them similar to this video. If you use a brush that can change its opacity based on pressure. This will work well.
Is the setting similar though?? Im asking because Im a beginner and I don't know these things. Also Can I use the exact similar things in Infinite paint?? Please tell me.
@@blaze26700 The blur settings are slightly different in the 'filter' mode. And the blur tools outside of 'filter' mode act more like a blurring brush. You also have to manually change the eraser to the one you need, you cant just hold then set it to the same brush as your drawing one. As for the infinite paint question, Idk.
@@blaze26700im also a beginner and have both the free versions of medibang ibis paint and brought procreate. Procreates interface is different like if your used to ibis like I kind of am(i know where everything is on screen) it'll take you time to learn where everything is and how to use it. I at times get so frustrated with Procreate because i can make nice sketches but have no idea how to color them in it. To the point I switch from procreate to ibis paint 😂😂. I still like procreate its just harder for me to grasp personaly.
In the long run that's not super helpful but appreciated, I would say look up references and know what direction the light is coming from. Just like the hair is separated into multiple parts it's also on a 3d surface which means that only part of the volume will receive light and the other side will be shaded. Hope that helps someone.
@@Ms.NoNo2 I use a hair brush and soft round brush for the shine its simple and everything between is just painting the values lights and darks. The hair brush saves you so much time from drawing line for line but its still your work.
it would be easier if you just did a lighter tone on top on a separate layer, blur or blend by choice & then add little white highlights. at least that’s what i do lol
I typically make a thinner white line on a new layer and use the smudge tool while zigzagging across the line. Just angle the zigzag with the direction of the hair flow and you get a nice effect.
I love your videos. They are so nice in specific parts of kind of looks like you’re ripping the top part of the hair off and it’s like sticking like glue I think it’s really cool.
Using hair shine with perspective of the hair that is wrapping around a curved plane pointing out on parts of the hair that are pointing in (hair beside her neck) betrays the perspective of the hair. I'm not an artist, but it just looks wrong (the copy and pasted ones which are placed in areas that don't apply, not talking about the first one at the top). Also, I believe there also needs to be a bit of stray light with stray hair. And other blending modes could be uses to make the shine effect better.
Thanks, I couldn't do it the exact way with the perspective blur but I did find away to do it with another blur tool in my program by following the steps up to that! This was very helpful! Thank you!
A fine example of trusting the process!
Didn't look it til the last few seconds, damn

As an artist I feel like there is an easier less technical way to do this.
As an artist, this isn't technical at all 😅😅

Am i the only one who saw her blink
That was pretty interesting. I’d try it if my drawing program actually could
i get this is anime style, but i think it's good to keep the light source in mind too. especially if you're learning
Ah... Using prespective blur to make it blend into the drawing is so much clever... Indeed it would be easier for some ppl to replicate

Traditional artists looking how to do hair shine: 👁👄👁
Its official, hes wayyyyyyy better then explaining then Kooleen.
Really had to trust the process. I think this is proof that even the best art has an ugly faze lol. It turned out really good.
This is a great example of trust the process
I always learn so much with these videos. thanks for the upload!
Awesome! It looks easy 😊

Look at Kooleen , she has so good tituorials ! ( This guy is soo gut also , i like his art)
So cute ❤
Thanks for sharing!!
I tried this and it also works in ibispaint too!
We need this same tutorial for Infinity painting 😢
Thats so cool! 😎 Thanks!
Now do it on 4c hair
Also, i love your "Bye" at the end. It's so cute!
That seemed awfully complicated but it’s a nice final outcome. Whatever works best for you
yeah exactly, he also didnt talk about the foundation... How is someone gonna know where exactly to place the highlights?
@@soelemonthat’s why you do realism first and actually learn the fundamentals instead of instantly doing anime
Exactly. People want to actually learn how to DRAW the hair shine, not use digital art tools.

I absolutely loved this!
I really needed to trust the process the way it was going at first, in the end it wasn't too bad.
That would be nice for beginner artists

Wow I’m going to use this next time
I typically make a thinner white line on a new layer and use the smudge tool while zigzagging across the line. Just angle the zigzag with the direction of the hair flow and you get a nice effect.
Digital art low key js makes things way to easy
Like at that point is there really much talent

I love your videos. They are so nice in specific parts of kind of looks like you’re ripping the top part of the hair off and it’s like sticking like glue I think it’s really cool.
I just use a white thin pen setting and scribble (curving with the head angle of course) then maybe blur..
Amazing technic 😍
You just saved me 30-60 minutes of manually achieving semi-decent hair shinesb😮
Using hair shine with perspective of the hair that is wrapping around a curved plane pointing out on parts of the hair that are pointing in (hair beside her neck) betrays the perspective of the hair. I'm not an artist, but it just looks wrong (the copy and pasted ones which are placed in areas that don't apply, not talking about the first one at the top).

Wait- The quality of the video was so good that I thought it was an ad for procreate ☠️
Very useful for other programs too. Thanks bunches!

honestly there are so many ways to draw highlights. The most important part is following the headshape.
I don't think this kind of highlighting works for this specific masterpiece...
But it diffenitally works:)
