I have the prior version to this model. Purchased it in San Francisco right after the 1989 Earthquake from one of the shops in the Union District. In 1989 this watch was $475.00. SF was still recuperating from the earthquake and there were no tourists and these small camera/watch/electronic shops were willing to negotiate. First shop kicked me out when I offered $200, second shop took the deal. 29 years later I still wear and dive with this watch.
I bought mine in 1998. Years later when I sent it to Citizen for servicing they said they no longer supported that model and offered me the "Duplex" model instead - which I took them up on. I have always regretted that decision. So keep your original Promaster - it is a great watch!
Best watch I have ever owned, great for diving, swimming, at work or anywhere. You can still buy them new in a few shops even after they have stopped the production.
I was Gifted the first Gen of this watch. The bezel was dinged- The action is bad, well I don't dive- I changed the THREE batteries and only the Digi was working. Took it to a Watch Repair near me, he got it going for $15!! It is a rare and unique piece. Love it!
Tak, I have the same watch. I have it apart on my desk now... LOL In Pennsylvania. I will stop in Copenhagen next week. Working on changing the batteries. I usually sent it to Citizen to do it. They didn't even charge the last time. Just put a new crystal and batteries and sent it back. Now they say they do not do it there in CA anymore. Crazy bullshit if you ask me. So I took out the jewelers screwdriver and took the back off. No problems. All done.
I heard these are very royal watches in Danmark. I may sell mine for the right offer. It is a 1997 I believe. In mint condition. Used when new on a few dives, worked flawlessly. Since then it was maybe worn for a year or so then put away in the safe. So in perfect condition and works perfectly. New band on the watch, and batteries. I do get to Danmark fairly often. Born there, been in US for 60 years. So I don't even look Danish anymore. LOL More like an old Swede.
No better Dive watch ever - I purchased my first one of these ( C003) back in 1991, nearly 30 years later - it's still the only watch to wear. Moved on to the JP 2000, still, have the original. Unfortunately Citizen have stopped servicing the JP 2000.
The crown prince got the nickname “Pingo” from his team mates because he often had to wear a tailcoat on formal occasions which pretty much makes you look like a penguin. The JP2000-08E is also (or was at least) an issued item for members in the Frømandskorpset. A true combat divers watch!
Kunne måske godt have ønsket der var safirglas i, eller man kunne få muligheden for os "normale" mennesker. Alt i alt et fedt ur, og jeg er super glad for mit.
The Crown Prince did not wear a JP2000-08e, since it is a remake of the original. Many watch dealers tell that story, and call it the Pingo-watch, but it is simply not true... His was a previous generation, since he used it in 1995. Furthermore - It was the golden one, which makes it a JP2004 with a CO22 inside. Much harder to come by these days, since they are 30 years old now.
Just lost mine, had it for 12 years, incredibly tough watch, if only they would make that with automatic movement. But for quartz-watches, haven't seen/heard better ones.

Pleasant review. I was wondering if the depth meter protrudes into your wrist? Can this be a problem or not? Thank you.
Super god review. Jeg bruger selv dette ur i ekstrem vejrforhold Grønland, under søredningsøvelser.
I have the 1st gen both the c022 and c023 and 4 pingo's jp2000 2nd gen.
do you know if this watch has the exact same dimensions with the older model with the 6 screws on the back ?

It's a self winding or battery or automatic ? :)
Battery quartz
Would be better if you went through the functions of the watch.......
If they need to upgrade the watch, it has to be eco drive, make it thinner and shorten the lug to 22 or 20mm.
is the Aqualand 1..no 2…
