Guduchi - The Most Divine Herb in Ayurveda

My teacher and mentor, Vaidya Rama Kant Mishra had an encyclopedic knowledge of over 700 herbs. Yet he described Guduchi as his absolute favorite herb. It has been known in the ancient texts as 'divya aushadhi,' or divine plant. It has an amazing property known as ‘jivanti,' which means it can restore life back to lifeless bodies, and is 'chinnodbhava,’ or able to grow when cut. This means it can grow even without soil or water, subsisting on prana alone, much like the great sages and rishis. As a result, it is described as one of very few amrit or ambrosia plants.
Why was this herb given such an elevated status as a sacred herb? This video fasts forwards us to modern times, where Guduchi, due to the fact that it contains high levels of berberine, can be used for three of the most deadly diseases: cancer, heart disease and diabetes. So much so that even mainstream medical doctors are starting to factor berberine in their cancer protocols they give to their patients. And Sloan-Kettering describes how berberine is used to fight both diabetes and heart disease, due to its effects on lowering both the blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerides.
However, Ayurveda teaches us that it’s not good to isolate the active compounds out of the herbs, which is a modern pharmaceutical approach. The active compounds may have some benefits, however over time side effects and toxicity could result from taking the herb out of contact with the way nature intended.
Which is why we use the whole herb of Guduchi.
Aside from treating cancer, heart disease and diabetes, it is known to treat recurring and persistent fevers, especially those that come from toxins entering the bone marrow. Many children nowadays receive too many vaccines in one day, which overwhelms the bone marrow, since the chemicals in the vaccines head straight into the bone marrow. This is why some children are now having recurring fevers that can persist for weeks and even years. Guduchi can stop these in their tracks since it is one of very few herbs which can clean the bone marrow.
It is also considered the absolute best herb to both prevent and treat autoimmune diseases, since it can clean both the liver and the bone marrow, two very important parts of the immune system. Toxins building up in these two areas can predispose you to an autoimmune disease, which is why I immediately put most of my patients on this divine herb, as many of the modern toxins found in pharmaceuticals, air pollution and pesticides can deposit in the liver and bone marrow, triggering autoimmune reactions over time. And Guduchi is perhaps the best herb to use to prevent and treat leukemia, whose origins reside in the bone marrow.
It’s best to be under the care of an Ayurvedic practitioner who is trained in the use of these extremely potent herbs, so they can tailor a protocol based on your own unique imbalances.
