I don't think the Ptolemies had botox. Actually, if you want a depiction of Cleopatra look up "Esquiline Venus". It's the most likely candidate for her appearance.
The only things we really know about her is that she was Greek (at a time when Greeks were notably "whiter" than they are today), with a small amount of Persian in her brought from the Seleukids in her lineage (who intermingled more with their own populace, and Persians were also "whiter" than modern Iranians are today), she was probably short even compared to other Makedonians, she was particularly extravagant when it came to makeup and clothing, and her divinity was often compared to Aphrodite, Venus, and Isis. But there's no direct mention of her beauty or plainness until Plutarch. Her contemporary depictions contradict eachother on hair color and eye color. And she may have been an incest child; this is unclear though, the Ptolemies may have married politically but they also used concubines to produce heirs. Their sibling marriages may have been to placate the Egyptian people, as incest was common in prior dynasties, and maintain an aura of divinity. Cleopatra was 3 centuries removed from the diadochi, 2 centuries removed from when the Ptolemies began to seriously practice incest marriages, and the only abnormal externally noticeable feature of the Ptolemies is that they were often fat. So we don't quite know to what extent incest affected the Ptolemies.

Better ? Caesar was 30 years older than Cleopatra. And here they have the same age. Shit is everywhere when we don't just stop at a skin color. 🤣 Cleopatra was 20, Caesar 50. Wonderful representation 🤣🤣

@@youtpfpm6097 and what is your idea mate? Would you want to bring two actors one who’s 50 and another one who’s 13 ? According to your idiotic logic..
The skin colour matters when you depict a history related documentary.. if I make a documentary about Martin Luther king, I won’t make it be played by Steven McQueen for example.
By the time of Cleopatra Egypt was ethical mix and Ptolemy house was Greek and Greeks are white or slightly darker.. as matter of consistency with the period where the events took place, you cannot mislead historical accuracy (both in depiction of the facts and the appearance of the historical characters) just because you’ve to please a bunch of idiotic activists that whine about the world that is not too black, gay ecc.
You compared two things that make no sense, because first 13 year-old people during that time were utterly different than now, you can document yourself about that, the concept of adolescence for a human was born approximately after 800 ( and this goes for any culture) second if you watched a documentary, there’s a scene where Caesar was sleeping with Cleopatra, would you feel fine showing two people one who is 45/50 and the other who’s 13 even if is it fiction? Draw your conclusion before letting that brain of yours fart.
Sick and tired of this politically correct.
      Grow up, fuck sake’s

What is this garbage? Who cast a blonde guy to play Ceaser. Also there’s nothing whatsoever in the historical records to say she was smart. Ceaser didn’t need her. This man was supremely confident in his ability. He never lost and he wasn’t afraid of a bunch of Africans. There Is evidence that he became infatuated with her and he may have even loved her but don’t get it wrong he definitely never felt like he needed her for victory.

what @dawoodwilliams said. offhand she spoke 9 different languages. and she was the first in her dynasty to actually speak Egyptian.(all the others of her dynasty were Greek descendants when Alexander the Great conquered Egypt. Specifically a Greek general called Ptolemy I Soter.). Some of the languages were Hebrew,Ethiopian ,Latin and Koine Greek(which was the prefered language in which the Romans prefered her to speak.). she was also supposed to be a brilliant mathematician ,chemist, and philosopher and wrote several books on it.
