5 uses of a stapler without staples: - to hold a curtain - sinker for a fishing rod - support for a uneven chair or table legs - to put a dirty lid of the pot while cooking (using it in a side position) - a hanger
For those wondering manholes are round so that they can be rotated easily in order to open them. However not all manholes are round as there are different designs it is just that most counties including the UK, US and many other european countries started with that design and never saw the need to switch them
The fact that's Loughborough Uni is supposedly one of the most prestigious sports universities in the world and not one of these people could answer the tennis ball question with confidence is slightly worrying
Manhole covers are round so they won't accidentally fall into the manhole itself (square’s width is less than its diagonal). Additionally, there are no angles for alignment, the round shape makes these heavy covers easier to put back on once they're taken off, and round covers are easier to manufacture.
i was crying after he said you could climb a tree without a staple. t The people you pick on (in every sense of the word) arent really in the best shape are they Max, but its impossible not to laugh
Man hole covers are round so you can't drop them into the sewer. Tennis balls are fuzzy to make them spin more and slow them down. You can use a stapler as a door knocker, a paper weight, a penut crusher, a door stop and a percussive instrument. Facts.
Idk about tennis balls but golf balls have dimples on them, so they create turbulent flow around them which dissipates the momentum around the ball more evenly, which then doesn’t create that much of a low pressure zone behind, so the drag is less, something like that, tennis balls should be the same, these are fast going balls
Why is a manhole cover round? So that the cover can’t fall down the hole - a square one, if turned to be vertical and then diagonal between the corners, could fall down.... not ideal Proud that I knew that but it’s also a bit nerdy 🤓
I would have to guess manhole covers are round so that they can't fall into the manhole. A square cover turned diagonally would be able to fit through the hole, whereas a round one wouldn't so long as the hole is slightly smaller than the diameter of the cover.
