I believe Italy belongs on this list as well…only 2 years of marriage required if living in Italy, 3 if living abroad, if I’m not mistaken. The only danger is being married to an Italian 😂
Well, well, in Italy you need to be resident at least for two consecutive years. Then you can start the application process which can last four additional years (they were just two until 2019). So, no, it's not definitely a fast process.
Forget Spain!, yes, you can APPLY after 1 year of residency BUT the whole process will take you 3-4 years at least!, lots of corruption and bureaucracy in Spain plus super high taxation
Does Argentina actually grant citizenship through marriage or does the spouse still have to reside there for two years after? I've read conflicting things about this
@@boumalcomedy8366 If I am reading their laws correctly, once you marry, it's automatic. They "waive" your 2 year wait period. Also, in their Constitution, if you settle in a "frontier or colony", you get instant citizenship. That means if you buy a house in Tierra del Fuego legally you are entitled to instant citizenship..
Iran too. The moment you marry an Iranian man, you immediately become an Iranian citizen (unsure of the reverse). And I know this was about Europe, but someone mentioned Argentina which not Europe.
You can literally travel anywhere in Europe for as long as you want immediately? A child could get around the 90/180 limit. Spend 3 months wherever, fly to a non shengan country in Europe like Romania, take the train out back to wherever then train back and fly out of Romania and repeat. Know loads of people that have done this. Oh wait but if I wait 3/10 short years I could become a resident of some corrupt s-hole after paying thousands of pounds! Sign me up

@@rivenoak . As as I said 4 months to process application so very fast. You need to pass A2 language level of luxembourguish deposit your wedding certificate and after 4 months of processing you become EU citizen
Where is Luxembourg in all this? To my knowledge, marriage to a Luxembourgish citizen may qualify for citizenship after three years of marriage, even if the couple is living outside of Luxembourg. Additional requirements apply though, notably the Luxembourgish language test.
A2 luxembourg language level, integration course. Apply immediately if living in luxembourg or 3 years if outside of luxembourg. But it s the only eu country in which you can apply immediately if living in luxembourg and if you pass the language test
I had an opportunity to gain a second citizenship with Spain. I wasn't too sure then about all the legal aspects, and it made me a bit apprehensive. Over 500 years ago, the Spanish government/church exiled many Jewish clans. They slaughtered the ones who wouldn't convert, or accept exile. As an apology, 500 years later, the Spanish government put out a letter with a list of names they had of the exiled clans. I am a Caribbean islander, born and raised on the island of Puerto Rico. We have a tradition about how we use our names... we legally use both our father and our mother's paternal surnames, but informally, we use both the paternal and maternal parent's names, which means informally we have four surnames. Of my four surnames, three were on Spain's list. There were several requirements to obtain that citizenship. First, a Spanish test, which I would've passed with no problem. My problem came with having to prove Jewish affiliation, which I do not have. So... I didn't pursue the process, and I think they might've even closed it by now. Sometimes I wonder what my ancestors would've wanted me to do, decline or accept citizenship to the country which killed many of their family and friends. At one point, the political unrest in the US made me wonder if I should pursue another residency, especially when Trump commented on the possibility of basically evicting all Puerto Ricans back to the islands. When my husband and I saw that online, he immediately said, if you have to go, we're going with you. Thankfully, it didn't happen. But, who's to say it couldn't? I think it's time to look into one of my sister islands in the Caribbean, and prepare things, just in case. Unfortunately, in this climate, you just never really know.

it depends on person and regions (and the person who is in charged with your application @ the immigration office)here in Italy.
