as someone with a persistent, constant paranoia that no one in my life actually likes me (due to my trauma. its 7:30 am and i havent slept i dont need this i do. this is the most eerie and calming thing ive ever listened to. it brings me a sense of distrusting comfort. like im laying on a bed on the floor, and i saw a large spider on the wall. but im far too comfortable in my bed. so i sit and wait for the spider, and it never comes.
This feels like being in a dream/nightmare for a long time for what seems like days even though it's just over one night, feeling tired of it all, the surrealness is exhausting and the strangeness is tiresome it's probably just the art that's giving me this, idk

I didn't know of Arnold Böcklin's works before I stumbled upon this album. Marie picked a great artwork for the album cover! both her and Arnold's works are incredible and filled with fantasy, it's really inspiring ❤
Just finished listening to it while working on an essay. I must say that it's perfect for concentration! When I first saw it on my feed, I foud the artwork to be quite uneasy, much because of the colours and the expression on this unicorn's face, but the more I looked at it, the more I realized that it had more of a strange, dreamy yet frightening, almost ethereal aura. It does look like some kind of dream or nightmare, and I think it the same vibes of fairy tales in their original versions: dark and frightening stories made to teach children about the world. Magical and, at the same time, nightmarish. And it tells a story, too. Where is this unicorn going? Why is there a woman mounted on it, and where is she going? Why does the animal look so fearful? What place is this? And why am I here? It feels like I was suddenly thrown in the middle of something so big and strange that's happening all around me, but I can only see the immediate part that I was exposed to. Like when you move to a new city and there's so much new and strange happening, you don't know anyone and you're just there, inserted in a whole new story without being part of it. It feels like I wasn't supposed to see this.

I was making a tattoo design when this come to my ears at 3:59 AM, and upon inspecting this scene, it appears the protagonist here is this devilish unicorn, with a Trinity eye (or kanji-shaped pupil?) and a young woman on his back. However, the woman lacks details, she's covered in shadow, she's crusty and quiet. She looks like she's false, made out of wood. You might think at first she's the one riding the unicorn, nonetheless, the more you look at her, the more you realize she's a bait that the unicorn uses to hide it's true intelligence. The unicorn seems to be covered in blood, or that's what his fur tone is telling me. It knows more than we'd like. Moreover, we can only see half its body. Where are the other two hinder legs? Perhaps there are none, maybe the unicorn itself is a bait, too, of something hidden in the darkness within the forest. The trees look skinny. Not thin, I mean skinny, meaty. The one to the left seems to have an articulation, like a knee, and some eye-shaped bulbs above it. I believe this tree- I'm sorry, the trees* are watching us. They can move, but they just chose not to. And if you pay attention, you'll notice a little man-like figure all the way to the left. It could be a leaf, but I think it's a fairy, mocking us, dancing before us, or maybe alerting us of something. The floor is red, too red. There's a high contrast with a sick, putrid green. Light works as if we're aiming an incredibly strong lantern at the scene, but the darkness is too thick for our pale light to compare. The worst of it, is that light seems to be abundant; it's the day, a white cold day, in contrast to the brute warm colors of the unicorn and its surroundings. We see in the background there's white light, but said light also reminds me of a smile. The forest is playing with us, laughing with us. Perhaps we should prepare for the encounter with the unicorn, Its inevitable. But did they find me? Or did I find them? Why should I prepare to meet them? No. That's wrong. I'm not in danger, I'm not 'scared' as you might think. My intention is not at all to sound edgy, I'm just being sincere. I haven't been searching for this unicorn or this forest, but they stumbled upon myself. There's nothing they can do to me that I haven't done to myself. They better be ready to interfere with my path, because I cannot go back even if I want to. I'm doomed to continue walking forward, and nothing can stop me, not even myself. This music is charming, calming. This forest and its beasts are trying to deceive me, to trick me, but I can clearly see through its tricks. I'm not alone, I can't be alone even if I want to. I must continue going forward. Thus I continue working on my tattoo. That's why I'm here in the first place; I just finished working on the main part of the tattoo, now I must draw some flowers on the background. I must draw Hell's flowers, so I'll do it once I get past this annoying unicorn and its wooden doll. I know their names, but I won't give them the satisfaction of saying them.
