Mark, I can't for the life of me figure out why people would whine and complain about the stop sine sawing, sometimes you just have to think outside the box and improvise and adapt to get the job done and keep everyone safe in the process. I have always enjoyed watching the challenging logs being sawed. thumbs up!👍
I like the stop sign method. Very interesting and challenging. You’re very good with the sawing. It’s a thinking man’s game. Great job love to learn things Thank you Mark and team
Being new to this kind of work, when I first heard you say you were making Stop signs, I thought you were actually going to make some but I soon caught on that it's the way you are making cuts. Awesome 😎🇨🇦🇺🇲🙏
If you understand the geometry of the log, the ability of saw, and the need to maximize the amount of lumber, you understand the need for the stop signs.
I don't believe many bandmills would handle that log too easy by the look of it. A swing mill would turn it into a big heap of dimensional in a hurry I suppose. You do great with what you have, and I challenge the haters to do better. Good job Mark and Eddie.
Hello Mark & T.H.E. as to Buzzy I really don’t have a clue !🤷♂️ Also to the non- stop sign people , huh ! What’s Mark supposed to do with the log ? Keep doing what you’re doing , it’s enjoyable !
I clear cedars. Like watching your show. My favorite part is seeing the log roll on to the carriage. I worked in sawmill in Chadron Nebraska yrs ago. Love the smell of pine being sawed.
Gives me appreciation for the big white pine my Grandfather sawed back in the 1920's and 30's. Thanks for all the work you do. Not sure what ol Buzz Saw was doing but he certainly didn't sound dull.
Didn't recognise Buzzy. He cleaned up better than I do! GOOD sawing and I remember hemlock about that size around 16 to 18 feet long on the old mill and when the rime to turn came, EVERYBODY danced over the mandrel shaft and grabbed whatever hook, bar and pole there was because it was going to be a JOB! I can see a white pine still standing about that size on our corner that's still growing. Maybe someone will want that for boards one day. HAPPY Week, Mark and no, you do NOT need a blasted band mill. BLESSINGS!
Unlike some of your other followers, I particularly enjoy watching how you do a stop sign cut. It's really clever and I swear I can almost hear the gears turning in your head as you try to figure out how to cut into the monster logs to get them down to a workable size. Each time I see this technique I ponder the value of a second laser line. You have a green laser shooting straight down to show you where the saw cut will be, but would a second laser of a different color showing you the max height of the blade be useful? I'm sure there would be logistical issues of where to mount it for it to both be effective and not in the way of the log deck or anything else.
Hey the reason some people don't like stop sign logs is they think you are wasting a lot of wood! A lot of people don't understand that you can take the first cuts and run them thro1ugh the resaw and make lumber out of them , it's not all waste!
I had a friend who bought the cutoff slabs from a nearby sawmill. They’d dump a big load of slabs in his driveway and he’d cut em up and use for firewood. He mostly heated with firewood with a wood stove in his fireplace. Heated his one floor ranch pretty good.
Since I am new to your channel, I have been going back and watching the older videos. Love what you are doing. Heard your say the one guy had been in jail 18 times and prison 2 times. I told my son I would guess it was for making moonshine. I haven't heard you say what it was for. Love you'll stay safe, and God bless. Dan 🇺🇸
Anyone can saw the nice straight perfectly round logs. It takes a real sawyer to handle the giant, ugly looking logs (that often hide pretty wood). Well done, Mark.
Mark just a idea for Ya On you power over the carriage swing arm run a air line and right at the bottom of the Knees weld on a bracket to attach the air hose with a Nozzle pointing at the landing where Bark sometimes stays on and install a inline Solenoid valve u can control with a push of a button too possibly blow off the bark ! Just a Thought

What ever it takes to get the bus motor happy!😂
Anyone that doesn't like the " stop sign " doesn't appreciate the art of sawing logs!
Mark
It’s awesome to watch you take a log that looks like it’s nothing but firewood and turn it into something useful.
Thank you for sharing
I like the stop signs, I like watching you trim them down to where you can make lumber out of them!
I just love Gordy's violin piece during the edging. Very much. Thankyou David Gordy

I guess if they don’t like the stop sign, they may have to try another channel until your done.

Amazing what a small blade can do in comparison to that very large log
That one log that needed to be cut with a top blade also
But great job getting it sawed into lumber.
