    These lectures give me a healthy type of expression to my beliefs

  • @WildAlchemicalSpirit
    @WildAlchemicalSpirit Год назад +13

    Science as of late has become just as dogmatic as religion. At least religion considers the metaphysical though, so in a sense it's far more open-minded than science and science is even more dogmatic than religion. The scientific record is equivalent to a god that determines all beliefs and if it's not in the scientific record then it's not even acknowledged. Pretty closed approach. I get that the idea is empiricism but in this world rarely is anything as it seems. Thus true empirical evidence is in short supply. A good majority of what is accepted as scientific fact is actually just the most popular and authoritative opinion in the scientific community or the prevailing theories of what is thought to be true, not necessarily what is in fact true. But Manly expresses all of this far better than I can here.

We have the whole transgender issue now too that demands people ignore science regarding anatomy and chromosomes in lieu of their personal beliefs. Being that Manly was an actual hermaphrodite I would be curious what he would think of all that.
