  • Headphones highly recommended! A longer ambient piece made on the Volca Sample. Majority of the steps has a chance of being randomly played (enabled via Pajen Firmware). I never considered the Volca Sample a tool for ambient, but the Pajen firmware changed my mind on that.

    Thanks for sharing. I was looking at a few granular synth devices and found that they were in the $800 to $1k range, and then found you doing something similar (for ambient music) with a very affordable Korg Sampler. Very well done!

    Thanks for sharing again. I was revisiting your music and found that the first time I saw it I had not read your notes about the Pajen firmware. It seems that this makes the Volca Sampler into a serious ambient workstation that is very compact and minimal. I would be curious what would happen with the output being run through the Eventide Blackhole effects pedal (which also seems good for ambient musicians).

    I love how wonderful this sounds with headphones on! What devices and cables did you use to record your live creation directly from you volca? The sound quality is remarkable.

      Yea, I recorded it straight to a DAW (Reaper) and added reverb etc effects there. I also aplit the signal into two channels by panning in order to process different sounds separately.

    Excellent use of the Sample. How did you trigger the ping-pong effect?

    • @flakcannon

      It's just an added effect on DAW.

      Thanks! Yes it is the original Sample. It is not currently possible to do these things on Sample v2.

    I really love this. It evolves beautifully and is very meditative. Did you create your own samples for this or use a Sample pack?

    • @flakcannon
      @flakcannon  3 года назад

      It was mixed samples from a different sample packs.

      Most of the samples were from the "Dr Sample From Mars" collection by Samples From Mars.
