- In this tutorial, you will learn how to pass Transcribeme test in 2020. At Transcribeme test format and audio-test is changed frequently. but the method you will learn in this tutorial will remain the same and will be applicable for a future test. I do not encourage anyone to cheat in the exam, I am just making the entire process easy and quick by using the available tools and resources. first, read the guidelines carefully and then attempt the exam. The guidelines is changing timely, if you're going to check the recent guidelines and pass the exam, reread it once again. I've seen plenty of errors from the comments itself. Even audio downloading is prohibited.

I've been a professional medical transcriptionist for 10 years and I failed their test. I followed every style rule to the letter on the audio portion. Can't figure out what I did wrong. They are very nit-picky.
I'm kinda frustrated. I spent like 7-8 hours doing all 3 parts and I got a 94%+ on all 3 audio sections and the rest 100%, yet I still failed. And now that I think about it- if 3-4 minutes of audio is going to take that long, I'm barely going to make 5 dollars in half a day. I suppose it's not worth what I thought.

Found this after my first attempt. Spent 2 days preping, and failed with a 91%. Then I used your tips and still failed with a 96.5%😣. I really put in effort. Thanks for your help though. It's just sad I didn't make it.

OMG, I passed the test on my first try. I got a 97.8% on the first audio, 98.2% on the second, and 97.5% on the third. It took probably around 5.5 hours including the research involved in finishing some of the guys' names and the names of some of the stuff they mentioned. I didn't end up watching the video but instead looked at the very useful comments. I'm not sure if it would have been possible without your guys' help with all that you've discussed. If anyone has any questions on what should be different, I can try to help to the best of my abilities. GOOD LUCK WITH THE EXAM!!!!

Papama Mtambeka that’s the women’s health one, right? For that one, I separated when the guy and girl spoke. Even when the guy says one word like, “Wow.” Separate them like the style guide says. The only other thing is to make sure your spelling out the unique words they used. Other than that, most everything they said should be pretty straight forward since their audio was the most clear out of all of them.
Papama Mtambeka Also, look in the comments for other people’s complete transcriptions and compare your to theirs. Remember that people’s transcriptions in the comments likely failed, but it is a good reference point for what to look for and make sure you have.
Marcus Hankido I believe there is a comment in this video’s comment section that has a person’s nearly complete transcription of that audio. Some things I can advise are to not use tags (I didn’t and I passed), only hit enter once on the transcriptions (instead of twice to space them out more, at least this is what I did), to spell the two guys’ names right (Charles rozaire and George Kritzman, I think), use quotations when they’re needed, look up all the plant names and other weird words (I eventually found each of them after some hours of research). Just spend however long you need to take it and do as much research as possible on words you’re not sure about. They chose audio where missing most of the tough words will make you lose just enough accuracy to fail. You gotta spend the time researching.

According to the English-Entrance-Exam-Instructions pdf file, it said you must score 100% for each question in order to pass that section.
But at the same time it says in the guidelines that your score should be at high 90s, i also got confused at that part

Hi Let’t Learn, thank you for your turtorial. I have a question that need your help: Do you use tags in TranscribeMe audio test? I find some words that I am not sure which words are exactly. I consider between typing these words, just my guess, or use tags “inaudible”.
Did you get accepted? I'm still in my 2nd audio and it redirected me to the retry page. I'm pretty sure my transcript is accurate, yet I used [inaudible] tag for a portion that was completely unintelligent. Is that the reason I failed?

lol I followed the exact thing still failed! hahaha, I don't think it's really valid to just copy paste it from external source.
don't copy from external sources, even from MS Word because there will be outside formatting which will invalidate all your work. even notepad has outside formatting depending on the settings. for a safer route, just retype it to the work hub.
In your video, u mention that at the place of typing text of audio we should try another website which means we copying a text from an external source and paste it on the Transcribeme page but in the English Exam guide there is a point in which they say don't paste text from an external link. what is your opinion on this?

Transcribeme has now changed. It's not giving the marks. The first time i passed the first audio test, then i failed the 2nd audio. Now when i am doing the attempt, i failed he first, and i literally did the same thing. I don't know if they are cheating or something :(
It's because you must be using vpn to register or to give exam. Same happened with me twice nd after passing the exam they banned my account. So don't waste ur time in this.

Yeah, they have updated their exams guidelines. If you can clear the exam without using any trick, go ahead and do it. However if you fail consider using some tricks to make the job easier in your next attempt.

If you do copy paste you will get rejected when they review your application manually. So you should type out everything. I made this video for demonstration purpose only so I am okay if they turn down my application for using copy paste. That's what I meant

Hoping someone can help me with a question. I've heard that the hours are quite low with transcribe me so I'm considering getting multiple transcription jobs, I've already googled some options, but the one I wanted only hires people in the states, (I'm American but moved to the Philippines about 6 years ago.) So I guess my main question is what is the best company or companies to apply to that can get me enough hours to have a decent income and also hire Americans living abroad to work at home? Well, I have seen your video time and again. It is clear that for every new speaker there will be a new line. Now suppose if there is only one speaker and that particular speaker is speaking for non-stop and the duration is more than 2 minutes or approximately 2 minutes then as per TranscribeMe guideline there should be a new paragraph (if I have understood the guideline correctly). Could you please let me know how many time shall I need to press the ENTER key in order to create a new paragraph?

Hi. I was able to finish my first audio test in TranscribeMe, although I totally forgot to start the transcript in a lowercase letter and finish it without the use of punctuation. I followed this in my second and third audio test. Would I still be able to pass even though I failed the first audio test regarding that instruction? Hope to hear from you. :)

hey bro, thanks for the video. I think transcription is hard sometimes because of the noise in the background of the audio file they give you. Sometimes the voice is not clear and the speaker's speech is unclear. Do you have any idea of whether or not it is legal to guess the word you don't hear clearly?
Never guess any word. If you are not at all able to perceive that word, then put an inaudible tag.

in this new capacity programming ecology and one of the things that I know comes to mind very quickly when people hear ecology is this move to sort of equate ecology and environmentalism. Could you say something about what the similarities and differences? Where does ecology and environmentalism begin?
Well I tell my students-- I teach general ecology to undergraduates. And I think a lot of students don't really know what ecology is until they take this sort of class. And I emphasize to them in the first lecture that ecology is not environmentalism. And ecology is the science to understand how the natural world works, and environmentalism is a sort of a moral and an ethical view as to how we humans ought to interact with this world. I want them to understand the science, the science of ecology, because it's only with that science that you could then use it to help make decisions later. And so ecology is just one of the environmental sciences that we can use to better manage how we do that is to, I think a large degree, a political decision. And so I think we then as citizens, as students who are going to take my class, and then as scientists like you and me, we should be spending our time thinking about how we can make sure that the best science is in the hand of the people who are going to be making these decisions.
Okay. So one of the things that we as a society would want out of ecology, right, is answers, right, answers to what's going to happen if, what's going to happen when. So ecologist tell us what the consequences of climate change are, tell us what the consequences of the arrival of a new weed or new species is, tell us what are the consequences of an oil spill is. But from what I can tell, ecologists oftentimes struggle, right, to make these sort of predictions to make these sorts of forecasts. Is that asking too much of ecology, or?
I don't think it's having too much of ecology at all. I think it's the holy grail, but we should also be recognizing at what point we can and what time we can't predict. And so for example, we cannot predict how the economic system is going to change over sometime short and long timescales, yet we humans developed this economic system. Now that doesn't mean we just are nihilists, just raise our hands and walk away from being predictive. We try to figure out the scope of which our predictions are going to be able to work, why they don't work, and then design our next studies to get them to be a little bit more predictive than they were before.
Well, another issue that kind of revolves around all of this is the relationship between science and society. And, and let's face it, some science is just plain esoteric. It's hard to figure out what was done, why it was done and who cared. And political pundits and critics of science, especially in these times of tight budgets, looking at various titles and grant proposals and whatnot, and they say, "Well, that can't possibly be a good use of, of public funding." So they might look through a journal and find a title like this one, "Linking calcification by exotic snails to stream carbon dioxide cycling." And at that point the naysayer sneers and says something like, "So the scientists are telling us that it's the snails that are responsible for s-- carbon dioxide in the atmosphere" or something snarky like that. Why would the public care about snails and carbon dioxide?
So we found a stream in Grand Teton National Park Kelly Warm Springs that has a tremendous population of exotic snails from aquarium releases. And the bottom of this is just covered with snails. And we thought, well, this is a perfect place to test this. And so the finding is that there's that yes, these things can make these flexes, but it's small relative to other ones. So no, the answers are not contributing to global climate change. But we need to know these things so that we can check it off our list as things to worry about, at the very least. We believe they've altered the native invertebrate assemblage in that stream too, just because there's so many of them.
