I think that one’s totaled…. Camping gone wrong.

- I got a call from a lady who slid down an icy hill while pull her camp trailer behind her Chevy Suburban and jackknifed it into the gate. Unfortunately the front corner if the trailer did major damage to the Suburban, but luckily the trailer was unharmed. I headed up with the 4x4 wrecker to see what I could do, and luckily there were some good trees to work with, since the road was blocked and I couldn’t get to the other side. I was able to pull the trailer off the suburban, then the suburban off the gate, and then get everything straightened out to point down the hill. A sheriffs deputy and forest service officer both stopped by and stayed until everyone was out of there safe to make sure we didn’t need anymore assistance, and the forest service officer followed the lady back out of the woods to make sure she made it safe. Overall the job went good, but the Suburban is damaged enough that it is probably totaled, and I took a fall that broke some of my camera gear and left me with a sore back. But the important part is that everyone made it out safe, and no further damage was done to the vehicles.

Good thing the gate stopped it. Now, does she have to pay for gate?
Didn’t hurt the gate. No ticket, no fine, no tow bill. She had a bad enough day already and we were all there to make her day better, not worse.
Must be great satisfaction for saying no charge! Great job!
@@gpw203 That’s not true. But you know that. One of us especially country people rule area help other people all the time. That’s what you do. Even small towns 30,000 is what you do at least in the Midwest.
@@paulprigge1209 I help everyone for free if anyone wants to tip I won’t say no 😊
@@DerricksTowing-Recovery it is rude to not take the tip, they feel you have earned it and want to acknowledge it. Something someone smart told me.
If clicking the Like button and leaving a comment means that lady gets a free tow, then I'll gladly do my part. Thanks, Casey, for all your work, and especially, for being a Good Samaritan.
I like the way you think!
I think we just saw the true essence of Casey. The customer was so scared and stressed by the situation and the possibility of angry law enforcement and land owner you could hear it in her voice. The next time we heard her speak while you were telling us the plan, she almost sounded like she was enjoying it. Incredible bad luck loosing it on the ice. Incredible to meet Casey and have him fix the situation. Casey really is the nicest person you could possibly meet.
The reaction when you said “free of charge “ put a lump in MY throat. Thank you I help people I’d rather have the reaction than the money
Actually that log truck does belong on that road and hauls out of there every day.
@@spymaine89They were out just joy riding around in the snow. What were the thinking. Probably I need to get home safe and not die.
You are a good man Casey.
@@CaseyLaDelle 👍
What do you mean the log truck doesn't belong on that road? That truck driver has to make a living somehow a little snow certainly won't stop them from doing it. Awesome job on that Casey, love the channel keep them coming.
Alot of people are homeless in Oregon and live in Rvs exclusively. That RV and suburban may be all she has in the world. I'm glad she wasnt hurt, but hopefully the suburban was salvageable.
Thank you for being you, Casey. You're a good man. I could listen to you describe a Job or just talk about life in General. You have a wonderful attitude and a enlightening outlook on life in general.
The relief in her voice when you told her no charge was so heart warming!
I am a 76 yr old Canadain lady and I am hooked on your show. LOVE your attitude!
Well done, Casey. I have to say, your videos are surpassed only by your genuine kindness, empathy, and integrity. The Bend, OR area is lucky to have you. Keep up the fantastic work!
You better be careful, people are going to start thinking you know what your doing 😂. All that work done without Grumpy to supervise 😮
You’re one hell of a good human Casey
Nice work Casey, if only more people had your work ethic. Take care, keep safe as always.
Casey, great job as usual! Don’t worry about the filming when you’re solo, you’re there to do a job which is more important then getting the perfect video shot. Stay safe out there.
The world need more people like you!
Definitely not the logging truck driver's first day! Well done!💪
I enjoy the physics and problem solving, amazed at what you can do with that rig, even the door buzzer of your truck and that red interior takes me back to riding around with my grandfather who owned Ford trucks in the 80s but also your friend who is an International enthusiast, my grandfather ran a couple of those in the 70s. Not only do I enjoy your videos but it’s nice that by simply watching I’m helping you make it possible to do this at no charge to those stranded off-road and need your help.
Casey, you are a true hero. Mad respect for everything you do.
You are amazing, your community is blessed to have you. That log truck is chained up, he knows how this weather works.
The work he does for his community too, really appreciate his efforts
A lot of people in this channel are facing dangerous situations, along with the fear of injury and/or loss. And then when you come to help them, you make easy work out of something a lot of people would find just impossible -- and THEN because of all of us, you are able to tell them they do not have to pay for it as well! You Casey are a Godsend and I for one am happy to tell you that 🙂
Hope you enjoyed your victory snack, you certainly deserved it, as for the filming can't complain, glad everyone was safe miner damage, compared to what could have happened, well executed, all the best to you and your loved ones
As a fellow RVer, It's heartwarming to know there's people like Casey who can get us out of a jam. #GreatJob
You're a good man Casey 👍👍
Not all heroes wear capes. You did good, and the filming was perfect. 👍
Casey that lady was happy when you gave her the bill. She's going to spend more than that to fix the suburban. 😉🤔
Despite what you say, Casey, you're really good at what you do! And you're a really good man too! Thanks you for all you do!
Casey, this stuff is remarkable what you can do alone. I know there’s tools and experience, but dang you do good work!
Another satisfied customer! Awesome job getting them out on those treacherous roads. 👍 Maybe invest in a few set of ice cleats for your boots Casey? Have some in each vehicle.
It is very interesting to watch you work with weight, balance, tension, etc. in the middle of snow, ice and darkness. My compliments from BC westcoast. ❄
Awesome job Casey as usual. I think the video went great, especially under the circumstances. I can imagine the relief from people when you tell them no charge after everything they have been through. Can certainly hear it in their voice.
Well done young man Well done 👍
You say that "it was filmed horribly", but no, you did a good job. You captured the meat of it without extraneous chatter.
You are an amazing young man you figure every scenario out and you save that Woman and her vehicle And trailer kudos to you you are awesome
I just can't say it enough.. Casey you are the nicest most awesome person.. the world needs so many more like you.. you sure know what you are doing out there.. yes you are good at it.. stay real Casey
Thank you for being able to help this lady. She was having a rough enough night. That you were there, polite and very helpful was awesome...... That you were able to not charge her about got you a big hug. She and her family will remember you for a long time.😇
In situations like that, especially at night, it's such a relief to just have another person there especially someone as skilled and knowledgeable as Casey. Well done and that's why comprehensive costs so much.
Casey you are the man👍🏻
Very few people are willing to go out on those type recoveries for pay, even less for free.
You always find a way to get everyone and their vehicles out and very likely have saved lives from dying from exposure.
As I’ve said before, you are the only one with these type channels that I’ll watch.
Your humbleness, honesty, modesty and taking time to explain the whys and how’s of everything you’re doing is appreciated.
Please always just keep being you and doing you’re own thing.
Take care and stay safe out there.🙏🏻
Definitely no apologies needed about the filming Casey! I thought it was great and you still managed to include an explanation on the set up of the rigging etc 👍 Glad everyone was ok, including you when you took a tumble!
Casey, I suspect you had fun with this one. Having the right tools+the right skills+the right experience and the right opportunity to put them all on display. For all humanity, I am happy that you were the one to rescue her tonight.
12.1.22 Very good Casey. Good for you Ben bought that wrecker for you until you could get it from him. Thanks for helping out.
I love how you keep filming the logger - paying him tremendous respect, by doing that!
Love seeing the old Ford, reminds me of the one my grandfather had when I was a young kid. Obviously his was not a wrecker, but the interior is the same and it really took me back seeing the inside of your rig. I've commented a few times before, but I'll say it again what you do with providing your services for free is amazing. I know I've heard you speak to it being easier for you that way, but lets not overlook the kindness it spreads to those in need. Keep up the awesome videos Casey.
Pretty decent video, given the conditions. I could see enough, and you showed the rigging nicely. Good job, I say.
Dual lines worked by one guy while filming. Impressive work.
Mad respect Casey! The universe needs more humans like you. We’re going to the Wrecker Games. Can’t wait to meet you!
Once again red truck has proven itself to be the. "tool" to do those jobs for you.
Excellent purchase you made plus superior explanation of what you do on the jobs.
This guy is amazing for what he does!! 😢.
BLESS THIS MAN WITH SPONSORS FOR HIS EQUIPMENT !!
That was Awesome. She was so relieved and happy to be rescued for free. Thank you Casey, your Awesome.
You definitely know how to rescue.
This is so very generous of you your a great person
Awesome that you are helping people out and not charging for the tow recovery! Sometimes a tow can add up cost wise! Nice job and done well!
Good job Casy! Back in the day up here in northern Canada I'd use the " cardboard heater" along with the special order propane vehicle 210F thermostat in my GM bush work trucks. More heat is good heat when the temp is in the -40s.
No need to apologise, another job well done Casey. Thank goodness after your fall it was only the light that got damaged Casey. 👍🙂
Casey, great recovery, enjoyed watching, I’m a rollback driver and enjoy watching other drivers doing there thing. It’s helps to learn and build my data base of knowledge. Thanks.
The sound in the voice when you said it was free...that speaks volumes as to how you make a solid difference Casey...seriously good stuff. It has to warm your heart when you recover someone having bad day then get them out of the bind then not give them a bill, probably brings a smile in most cases.
Good morning Casey!
Really awesome of you to help them without charging. Much respect.
Thanks for the video
GREAT JOB CASEY! THANK YOU for helping people! Glad your light was the only broken piece from the fall.
You are not supposed to get caught sitting down on the job.😉
I bet you felt that fall the next few days. Hope you didnt becasuse I felt it for you.
Be Safe!! 👍
I have been binge watching your channel all day. 😅.
I have never watched these kind of videos ever before and now I think I’m addicted. Great channel and the work you do and I feel like I’m right there with you, just warmer, lol.
I've only recently subscribed and also watched lots of videos myself, I don't think I'm addicted I know I am😁😁 😂😂😂😂 😂😂
When I worked for the USFS in Montana I learned two things. People get themselves in the worst jams going places they shouldn't be, and log truck drivers are the gods of off-road ice and snow driving.
Great job Casey !! 👏 Hope I never get stuck….but won’t hesitate to give you a call. Our community is a better place because of you and your hard work. Thank you !!
If a broken light was the only issue at the tow site...then it was a good job. Well done Casey!
The camera work was just fine, Casey. That was a well-choreographed extraction. 👍
This is why I love the Casey LaDelle channel. Does not disappoint and always enjoy the content. Thanks Casey!
To use an old Aussie expression, you really are a clever little Vegemite. Well done Sir.
Casey you are an amazing man ...where would all these people be with out you ...a knight in shining armour!
Hey Casey, I sent you a gift so you can stay 0n your feet during these ice-covered rescues. Thank you for helping those in need.
Great recovery and a happy customer. I want to suggest you get a pair of Yak Tracks for your shoes they are great for Ice and slick snow and you can walk on any hard surface, concrete blacktop with out damage or slipping and driving is no issue really worth a try!
You made that woman's day. She was terrified that she wouldn't be able to pay for you. And you did your usual outstanding job pulling the rig straight so she could just drive off.
Yes, the video was not your usual high quality but by yourself it was good.
Thanks and you be safe out there.
You are a really good person. Thank You for being You and don't change a bit
Why you don’t have several million followers is beyond me. Your values as to how to treat others is something more people need to follow. Working hard to provide for yourself and family, and you are willing and able to help others is much more important than the quality of the video. You can see what you are doing, there is no need to have fancy video (drone shots, transitions, etc.).
I learn a lot watching your videos. I also love the scenery when you go on your trips
Just because you say "I never said I was good at this" doesn't mean you aren't. Great recovery and filming in those conditions. Time for some boot chains/spikes 👍
At least you had good trees around to rig to. It sure looked like a mess when you first got there, amazing it could still drive.
Since you have to deal with so much ice, I would suggest keeping some of the slip on Ice Crampons for you and a helper. I have a pair of the "Yaktrax XTR Extreme Outdoor Traction Cleats for Snow and Ice " and they make a huge difference when even glaze ice conditions. They are a little rough on decks and porches, but they have rubber straps and slip on over boots easily.
Interesting watching you with all the different types of rigging.
We stop at that gas station every time on our way to Medford. Love the full service attendants.
Nicely done have a good day
Where were you at when you were pulling out the truck and camper. I was sure you just put the camera on the truck and weren't there but over where you could see what was moving and where. The planning of where to put the pulling action shows you are good at this. I hope you didn't damage yourself with that fall. I don't take a fall well anymore, just hurts too much.
Accidents happen , main thing is no one was hurt and after your excellent recovery work all were able to drive away .
Good job Casey, I'm an Australian and very rarely see snow, if ever. Could only imagine how dangerous it is.
Hope your staying warm brother. Keep up the great work!
Great job. Happy there are people like you still out in this world.
Super job sorry about you falling. I’m glad you didn’t get really hurt and everybody got out of their safe your fantastic be careful bless you.💜🦋
That lady is so worried glad you helped them out!!!
The world needs more people like you!
Another fantastic video ! It is / was extremely enjoyable to watch someone, (YOU) who
expertly and very proficiently knows how to use multiple winches ( with snatch blocks) safely and most efficiently recover a jack-knifed suburban and camp trailer all the while on an icy, snow covered road oh!, and at night and by yourself ! Freaking impressive !
Warmest Regards from Arizona.
The sound of the buzzer in the old ford reminds me of my old man’s truck when I was a little gaffer! Can’t explain it but it just hit a spot lol.
Notification bell!it's Casey YESSS!brew made, video watched life's just sweet and people saved could be a busy winter?from BIGMICK IN THE UK 🇬🇧 🤜🤛👍
free comment to feed the beast! Glad you had a couple Holmes trees installed before the crash.
Filming was perfect. I did these kinds of recoveries for many years both in military and civilian worlds. Very thought out and understand why was trying to be quick to free up the road. Good Job. I have an old 70s powerwagon I am putting a plow on and will fab a hyd boom in the back to maybe help some others here in New Mexico. The towing services out here are stupid expensive and many of us just cannot afford them. Keep up the good work and her excitement over not being charged is payment in my world. I had the exact same truck you have last year but the 5 speed was bad and I cannot change them anymore so sold it to a father and son start up company to help them out. cannot afford another one yet my wife and 17yr old daughter weld and will help me build one in my old dodge forest w200.
Casey you did good no apologies needed like another comment said, subscribing to your channel, hitting the like👍and writing Stupid comments keeps you going to help people for free. Come on people it don’t cost you a cent, let’s put Casey up 200,000, then 500,000,
heck let’s go for a MILLION. This is one of the best channels on Ytube, don’t cost a cent.
This is one of your BEST ones Casey. Good Job.
what a predicament! I can only imagine how freaked out the lady was. AND you fell and hurt yourself and broke equipment. Hope your back feels better! What an awesome rigging plan and execution Casey! Absolutely stellar!
Always good when things go smooth.
I hauled double flatbed’s and that wagon in the back can get a mind of it’s own.
Awesome video!👍😎 Thank you for your kindness to everyone you help😊 Stay safe out there!❤️🙏
Having a camera man does have advantages but even though you didn't it was still a great video. Glad you was able to help them & do it for free. It made a bad situation not as bad.
And this is why you have a following! Another job well done by the " I never said I was good at this" person!
You did a good job. It was nice that everyone stuck around to see it through.
Nicely done Casey The filming was adequate for the night.
Case, there a LOT of moving parts on this recovery, so many potential ways things can turn out. You’ve been working hard lately, I hope you’re able to catch your breath. Back in 1989 I got my HMMWV so stuck in a bog (not my fault, my driver failed to punch the fuel pedal when I told him to, it was his first time driving in rough terrain) they called in a Chinook to sling load my ass out but, the HMMWV was hydro-locked to the mud and it wouldn’t budge an inch. We tried everything known, finally it was a HMMWV with a winch on the front that nosed up to a tree and slowly pulled us out. The Army even has a small pocket sized manual for recovery techniques that shows how to set up block and tackle, set up a dead man’s anchor, etc. when I got back to the unit, all my buddies gave me one of those manuals with all their signatures in the cover, I cherish it today. I grew up in K-Falls so I know what you’re dealing with.
Thanks Case, you make us proud.
Chains on the logging trailer - never noticed that before - great idea. That's very slippery, Casey. Well done
Thanks for all your kindness Casey
