Had mine just a week. My last few cars over the last 5 years... Audi TTS FK8 Civic Type R BMW M140i GR Yaris CP Cupra 290 Then into a i20N. What a cracking little car.....even though I've had it a week. Yeah it's not as powerful as my previous dailys....but its mega and has some theatre, drama and character....and its a quick little thing ! Bang for buck its up there....old skool but bang up to date ! Love it 😀
@Relentless Pursuit I'll tell you something.....and I'm a Toyota employee, that builds the Corolla....so i know what the company philosphy is all about. But back to back....the I20N for me is the better car. The GR was mega when you were 'on it'.....but boring everywhere else.....and it doesn't look or feel like a £35k motor......thats why after 12 months of ownership I got rid. I lost hardly any money on it .....and purchased it as a 'long term' investment to enjoy......but as i got to grips with it.....for me it was lacking in any kind of theatre or drama..... If I had test drove the GR and the I20N back to back before purchase......I'd take the i20N all day long and saved myself £10k in the process. I liked my GR.....it made me smile....but I love this even more......grin factor is off the scale in the i20N.....and it has a lot more theatre, more drama, more of a motorsport 'feel', way more tech and kit as standard and also for me it feels more 'special' and an event to drive. It also gets way more attention in the Performance Blue than the GR in Pearlescent White ever did , even with the attached GA15ZOO private plate i got for it !! I'm not here to shoot the GR down it was great and its an epic car....but it just didn't cut it for me. Its arguably one of the best vehicles my employer' has ever designed and built.....and is the last of dying breed of cars entering the market. I refuse to buy into the 'electric' direction that seems to have overwhelmed 'joe public' with all the adverts on TV etc.....and am I to cars full stop. The BTCC is my favourite motorsport that I avidly follow. I'm happy I had one, and always look back with fondness when I see one out in the wild.....but have no regrets with the route I've took. 😉 If I had to rank my previous cars in order of favourites.....it would be as follows- 1. Audi TTS 2. BMW M140i & FK8 Civic Type R (tied) 3. Cupra290 4. GR Yaris The i20N for me, is up there with the TTS. Bang for buck....its hard to beat !
@Adam Beaver the concept of the GR Yaris is clearly lost on you. You swapped it for a 5 door Hyundai I20 with a few bits stuck on and Blue paint. The GRY is something special, something you could keep and enjoy without really losing a penny. On track the GR wins, on the road the GR wins, infact in any comparison the GR wins, and by some considerable margin! From your list of 6 previous cars, I'd put the I20 at #6, with the TTS at #5. Putting a low powered FWD 5 door city car above some of your previous cars sure does seem odd. Something tells me you won't have the I20 for long!
Great to see another N on the channel! Love the i20N. Must admit I don't know if I like the digital dash more compared to the i30n's analog dials. Cracking car! Did Bloody well for that many miles XD Can't wait to bring my 397 BHP i30N on the channel!
Beginners? I 'downgraded' from a Honda Civic FK8 which is far from a 'beginners' hot hatch and the I20n is a far better car in every aspect apart from straight acceleration and top speed.
I popped off a 130n in my 09 mazda gen1 mps . But let's be honest at least we still have a company who are making manual hatchbacks with abit of power out the box. Hyundai or not still good fun I bet 🤙
Common wisdom seems to be to swap the Pirelli's for Michelin PS4 at first opportunity. Seems Toby has done exactly that! My only gripe with Hyundai - why go with Pirelli??? My i30 n-line came with stock PS4 and they are fantastic.
They are really good but slightly overrated next to the Eagle f1s which are as good but cheaper. Hyundai only use the p zeros as they perform more consistently into a track day or longer thrash but of course most people won't use it to that extent to see the benefit plus they wear crazy quick. 😅
Love the front and side profile of the car, the rear doesn't quite cut it for me.. well atleast we can be happy that there are still some company's who make fun hothatches..
This reminds of the VW Golf GTI I bought at the end of 2016….. Manual mark 7 with the basic 220PS. The Golf was heavier, hence the performance must be quite similar and you don’t need more on our roads. Great car and nice video.
All these folks who want bigger, more powerful hot hatches. Why? 90% of you won’t go near a track. And the i20n is more fun than…well, any of the “big brother” hot hatches.
