I disconnected mine a while back and thought it was better but when I put the fuse back in I enjoyed the extra sound, especially that sweet note just over 4,000rpm. So it's stayed back on.

Im not sure it does make the biggest difference but when its off it does remind me more of my i20n line :D rather than the usual i20N sound.
How i dont know but ive drive both I20N line with manual gear as a rental and mine with DCT and there is difference both in behaviour - how it pull and how it sounds also, the manual one isnt really doing pops when downshifting like DCT can. They arent nowhere near strong or often as real N but quite nice still when they appear once in a while.

I think in i20n is biggest difference with esg and without esg . If you drive without esg you can nice listen clean engine sound / exhaust or sometime is listen turbo blowoff :)

@@melicher_filip ohh yes :D the N line i have in sport and gas to the metal has some seriously noticeable whistle haha. I found btw that with DCT if you drive mid speed 40-45kmh and you are in comfort/sport and you tap gas to the bottom and release very fast it can make really loud pop and bang haha

For test you can remove fuse number 7 ( module 10A ) in interior fuses or you can pernament disconnect connector from sound generator ( you must remove wipers and plastic cover under wipers ) .

Does somebody know how engine sound settings (in N custom options) correlate with flaps and sound generator exaclty? My thinking is:
Normal: flaps openwd from certain rpm, no generator
Sport: flaps opened from certain rpm, generator from 3k rpm
Sport+: flaps opened all time, generator same
I might be wrong, I ask as I HATE generator sound - i dont mind the idea but the way the made it doesnt match vibe of this engine, instead of roaring its kinda all bass...

Remove fuse is not pernament solution . Is good for test if you like drive with generator or without . because it is not only a sound generator, but also a vibrator that transmits vibrations to the interior. A car like the i20N, which only has a hard plastic interior, will 100% make unpleasant noises
