Thank you very much, slow stitching is so relaxing, I love it! Oh, I subscribed to your channel yesterday and I have saved some of your videos to watch, I particularly like the look of the mushroom one! 💗😊
Yes please, more slow stitching 😊 Really loved what you did today. I go to a crafting group and a couple of us have both of Tilly Rose's books. I used one of her designs as inspiration for a slow stitch journal cover. Had a lot of fun making it. Can't wait to see what you make 💗
Thanks so much Karen, I will do more as I have a million ideas in my head (I really need more than 24 hours in a day) and I will show them on the channel. I don't have the other Tilly Rose book, I think I will have to get it as I love the one I mentioned a lot. 💗😊💗
Lovely! It is small and harder to work on but it turned out so well. I love all the tags and cuties. I like to do the slow stitching in winter when I'm stuck indoors anyway. Beautiful! I would love to see more!!!
I so wish I had the patience for slow-stitching. (I don't have the patience for "slow" anything, lol) I love fabric in my journals, but usually only as tabs or page edging or in clusters. These are beautiful 🪡🧵
Yes love the stitched tags. Please do/show more. What about just outlining the rose petals with running stitch in pinks, maybe this would still allow the beauty of the fabric to be seen.
Loved this, Kari! This was fun to watch. I've only recently been watching more and more slow stitching on YT. As you know, we are both fans of Janet and our Arty Farty Annie. Both of them enormously talented and a joy to watch. Sadly, I am no longer able to slow stitch as my arthritis has gotten quite bad in recent years. I so love to see it done, though! Thank you for sharing your skills with us. I'm definitely keen to see what other projects you have in mind. I'm sure they'll be wonderful! Much love and bless, dear Kari xoxo
Thanks so much dear Lindsey, yes we seem to enjoy the same subjects and RUclipsrs, all I can say is we have excellent taste! Yes, arthritis makes it very difficult for such work, I shall enjoy it while I can. There are so many other ways we can express our creativity, thankfully (although I always want to do all of them)! Love and bless💗😊💗
Oh my goodness, I love needlework so much and this will be right up my alley. I’ve been forcing myself to throw away my tiny snippets of fabric and I should have listened to my hoarding tendencies. The sari silk is gorgeous and love how you incorporate it with so many different materials. You also mentioned your hexi quilt is almost finished. I do hope you will share that with us. A wonderful episode (and beautiful manicure) ❤️
Thanks so much Kate, I know, I am really enjoying a bit of stitchery lately and oh, tell me about the hoarding tendencies. Yes, of course I will show the hexi quilt when it is done, then I will be onto my next project - very excited to do a "quilt as you go" one! 💗💗
I LOVE this! I have been wanting to make something with fabric, and still have writing. You NAILED IT!! Love these, and I can't wait to make some,,,,welllll,, try anyway, not very good with a needle and thread lol I usually end up hurt!
Hi Kari, I’ve just started some wool felt embroidery so I found this video very interesting. Thinking of adding a personalised tag similar to the one you showed us to the fabric Christmas bonbons I’m making. So sick of the cheap paper bonbons. I think that rose fabric would look nice with a curved pale piece of fabric around the bottom and right of the roses, then embellish on that piece so the roses are left. Love those books you have too. I’m thinking of making a slow stitched, embroidered Midori cover soon. Thanks for the video, once again, so inspiring.
Glad you do some stitching by hand you can’t beat hand stitching, I make all my quilts by hand it takes a little longer but very satisfying and peaceful. Regards from New Zealand.
Thank you for showing these fabric slow-stitched journal cards! I would love for you to make a journal cover as well. I've tried and my fabric always shrinks as I work on it. I have yet to figure out how to get the end product to be the size I want for my journal cover (to cover a 9 in. x 12 in. base). If you have any ideas, please let us know. I also ordered the lovely book you showed to help me with this, as well. Thank you again.
I think it's a bit of trial and error to get it to fit perfectly. What I would do is have a separate base cover and attach my stitched fabric to that. I shall experiment and record it in a future video. Enjoy the book, it's lovely! 🩷🩷
These are so pretty , i love stitching by hand, I'd love to do this but i don't have a lot of interesting pieces of fabrics 😢 I do look out for them when I get the chance though. I enjoyed watching you play Kari 😊, thank you for sharing ❤
I just found you and I'm so glad I did !! I've been wanting to do this for a long time, and you have inspired me to go ahead with it. Thank you. PS: I also ordered the Tilly Rose book. It looks so very yummy. Carolyn
Thanks so much Carolyn, I am so glad you are going to give slow stitching a go as well and yes, that Tilly Rose book is delightful, you will love it! 💗💗
I love slow stitching and watching different processes. ❤️ The slow stitching on the tags and journal cards, are so beautiful. And how you detailed different parts with stitching or the beautiful sari!! You have beautiful fabrics also. You have great ideas can’t wait to see them!!❤ I would love to get some of the beautiful sari pieces…can I get her Etsy shop and link please and thank you. ❤😊
Thank you so much, slow stitching is so freeing, I love it. Here is the link to the Etsy seller who I purchased the sari fabrics from: www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Createcraftmadclaire
Beautiful pieces Kari, and if I've helped to entice you down the slow-stitching rabbit hole then that makes me very happy! I will look forward to seeing how you use stitching in your journals. If you would like a couple of ideas for slow-stitching into that gorgeous floral print - you coudl do lots of seed stitching into just the background, in a similar colour, so it just adds lovely texture and makes the flowers stand out. You could also "thread paint" just one or two blooms/leaves as a focal point, or do a small whipped backstitch outlining the shapes, or maybe stitch in a couple of extra sprays of foliage :)
These are so beautiful! 😍 I tried slow stitching for the 1st time this year & I have a whole new appreciation for it!
Thank you very much, slow stitching is so relaxing, I love it! Oh, I subscribed to your channel yesterday and I have saved some of your videos to watch, I particularly like the look of the mushroom one! 💗😊

This is all so lovely! Less lovely is that it didn't pop up on my Subscription page but YT can be annoying at times.........
Thanks Jane, yes YT seems to have it in for me at the moment, LOL! 💗💗
Dress-making pins are quite small and perfect for little pieces.
They are, I have some antique ones - thanks for the reminder! 😀🩷
This is fantastic! Besides felt, what else can you use as a backing?
Thanks Dianne, another piece of fabric works well too, especially if it is firm, like a heavyweight piece of canvas or linen. 🩷🩷
