I theorize Sans deltarune is from Undertale and I believe he’ll eventually need to leave deltarune permanently and we’ll have to draw something for him as a gift. That might explain everything I guess

He used the machine against Gaster or to escape from him at the end of Deltarune. The machine is Gaster's because the plans are written in handwriting.
