I played the PS2 version as a kid. Had a lot of fun with friends backtracking through levels to find all crystals and hilts. I still remember a blue crystal and a hilt in Raxus Prime where you had to essentially perform some trick jumps near an ATST to get to the items.
A few years ago I played the xbox 360 version, fully believeing it would be like the PS2 one, but with better graphics. The later gen version was good, but it was a major let down for me when I realized it wasn't the same game

I went back to the 360 version recently (the one I played as a kid) and it still holds up as a simple "character action" game with great controls, a few interesting combos that do different things to enemies, and physics that are genuinely impressive to this day. And the story, while not being that great or anything, has its charm in how much it leaned into the "edgy action game" trend. It has its issues, but I'm pleasantly surprised that a licensed game from my childhood didn't turn out to be borderline unplayable upon a revisit.
I'll have to check out the PSP version sometime.

I had the PS2 version as a kid and absolutely loved it.
Something interesting to note tho is how one of the big reasons the story has differences is because the last gen versions are all an earlier draft of the story (with the main console versions being the finalized story) and this is especially evident with how a lot of the voice acting in these versions sound like first takes compared to the takes in the final version

Force Unleashed Wii was my first experience with the game, and I'm not ashamed to admit that. Force Unleashed 360 is damn fine as well, but the amount of extra content in this version makes it the OTHER version to play. It's a shame that it only got reported to Nintendo Switch, because this version deserves more players.
Also, funny thing for Force Unleashed in general: our protagonist Galen Marek's nickname of "Starkiller" is a reference to the original Star Wars/A New Hope script, where Luke's last name is Starkiller. In the context of the old EU, this actually creates a nice dichotomy between Luke _Skywalker_ being the redeemer, and Galen aka. _Starkiller_ being the redeemed if you're familiar with the canonical ending. Even the evolution of Galen's uniforms fit this with his initial combat jumpsuit being tattered and in a state of decay, and the designs becoming more and more heroic overtime culminating in the white robes.

    I played the PSP versionm
Growing Up with that console always felt like being the last moniey, getting mostly inferior ports and whatnot. But this game felt amazing to play, PsP does indeed have some gems.

The fact you could actually use the Darth Vader skin in these but not in the newer gen ones always had me choose the psp version to replay

I played this on Wii and didn't realize their were different versions (other than dlc alternate ending etc) until years later. I actually like how the opening level has you fighting alongside the clones as it ties into battlefront II as the clones are still in Vader's legion and it makes the final levels difficulty make more sense (they've fought Jedi before) also Mandalorians need I say more

Something I think should had been mentioned is that the Nintendo Switch port of The Force Unleashed is actually an upgraded port of the Wii version, so technically there are four different versions of this game.

I notice that while the 360/PS3 version is more reminiscent of the original trilogy, the PSP/PS2/Wii version feels more like the prequels. The soundtrack, shot composition, and overall feel just reminds me more of the prequels than the main version. Take the opening level for example. In the next gen version, it takes place during the day and has OT music. In the old gen version, it takes place at night and has prequel music which reminds us more of Order 66.
And this is an unpopular opinion but I prefer the standard forward-facing saber stance of the old gen version. The reverse grip always looked funny to me.
Great game no matter the system but the PSP version is just awesome. I still play it on the same system to this day.

A friend introduced me to this game with the PS2 version. As the Wii was my only console at the time I got the Wii version and played through it about 10 times. It really was my favorite game back then. Unfortunately I sold my Wii with all the games a couple of years later. And when I wanted to play the game again I got the Ultimate Sith edition for PC. And boy was I disappointed! The cutscenes looked weird (I think they aged worse than the ingame ones from the old gen version), level design was inferior and it lacked a lot of levels I loved from the Wii version. I really miss that old gen Version and wish I had still had my Wii solely for this gem. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a love for this version!

If anyone wants to try this themselves, the Wii version has actually been ported onto the Switch.
Everything's present and accounted for, motion controls are optional, the game runs at a smooth 60 fps, the only let down is they didn't add the stuff from the PSP version.

I played the PS2 version as a kid and got the PS3 version later when I no longer had a PS2. I was shocked at how different they were, and I continue to insist that the PS2 version is better. It has more characters and more levels.

The best part of the old gen version is that the pulling down the Star Destroyer segment is a cutscene.

I had the Wii version (as that was my primary gaming platform at the time), and I remember being very surprised that the PS3 & Xbox 360 versions were different when I finally got my hands on them. I still prefer the Wii version to this day. I was pretty happy when it was revealed that the Switch version was a port of the Wii version.

The Force Unleashed for the PS3 was my childhood.
This and Lego TCS were my first big "things", the Rogue Shadow was even the first Lego Set I remember getting.
I'd spend hours just playing with the force mechanics in the Tie Fighter Factory.
Ripping the Star Destroyer outta the sky is iconic, I want them to bring Starkiller back entirely just so he can do that in canon again, I wouldn't care if he didn't do anything else

So I got the Wii version back in like 2010 after the game had been out for a while. I had played a level or two on a friends 360 when I would go over but I didn’t buy a 360 till after I discovered Skyrim in 2013. I was stubborn 😅. Anyway yeah 360 version looks and feels TOUGH 😤😤. But the Wii version had a more complete narrative, I always felt like the Jedi temple missions were meant to be a part of the 360 version but got scrapped. The force power customization was also more thorough on the Wii. The way you could hold the C button and fan your lightning arc to the left and right was always insane. I still have both versions. My sister and I spent a lot of times in the multiplayer, good times.
