As a owner of a S1 07 Mazda Rx8 for two years now it finally failed on me going uphill on a red light. After getting it towed to my house I'm still waiting on ignition coils to see if that was the problem. As a 23 year old i absolutely love this car. Alot of pure pressure from family and friends to sell it. I've grown attached to the 8 as this was the first car I really loved when I was younger playing Midnight Club LA when I first started getting into cars. I bought the car without even knowing it was from the game! One day I looked at my 8 saying "This car looks really familiar". So I played Midnight Club LA again and found it was the car I really enjoyed when I was younger playing the game. I have a strong crush to this car as it was almost meant to be for me. :)
Update! After receiving my ignition coils the other day I replaced them yesterday and now my 8 is up and running. Made my day test driving it on the highway :)
I got an 2006 Rx8, I've own it for 11yrs now. If your not willing to put the work in to maintain it, don't bother, but man it's worth the work. If you find a well maintained one, pick it up, put a cat back on it, and you'll be smiling.
I've owned my RX8 for 1.5 years now, yes it is a car you fall in love with as it is a car with actual personality and a rev happy engine and insane handling! It's worth it for real car guys who know how to maintain vehicles, for everyone else stick to your mum's camry.
I have an FB RX-7 as a weekend and summer car. It's SO fun to drive but I'm looking at getting an FD (if I can afford one some day) or an RX-8 (more affordable). The FB was a cheap classic and now I'm in LOVE with rotarys!
Only 1 thing id like to question... why use synthetic oil instead conventional oil? Ot wpuld save half the problem with the engine not heating properly.
@@AutoMotivate Emission is the main reason but I believe they''ll find ways to solve it... at least for some time. The RX-9 would likely be the last of their rotaries if they ever came true now that carmakers are getting on the EV trend (also part of government pressures).
Can u increase the life of the coils by placing fans on their heatsinks ? Although the engine bay is often baking hot anyway. Mostly due to the angle of the radiator and fans directing the heat upwards. Shame the heat isn't directed through both wings to literally reduce the heat
I found a 2007 rx-8 with 48k miles. Anything I should be looking for or should do when I do get it? Never owned a Mazda or a rotary before. Sorry for the noob comment
ok great video so from 2009 to 2012 its the series 2? does anyone know which years are the best to buy now? im thinking the newer the better far as the engine with the newer seals. 2009 and up would be better? thanks guys
Hello I put a new battery in my 2008 and now the steering is stiff turning right…..iv cleaned grey ports below air box….reset steering with ignition on an turn right then left and still no luck do you have any ideas…..thanks
So I bought a 2005 RX-8 Shinka edition because I absolutely LOVED my RX-7, unfortunately, not only have I had issues, my husband is too tall to be in it comfortably. I don't mind wrenching, but it seems like a money pit....fun to drive, but expensive
How $$$ are your issues? I found a 2004 & it's gorgeous,like my first boyfriend,lol! I can't believe all the negative reviews, positive!🕵️ This car is baby blue & pristine!
Wait, so you thrashed the 7th gen Celica because of a couple of minor issues, but the RX-8 is somehow a "great, stellar car" even though it needs an engine rebuild every 100k or less? lol
These videos talk about common issues within a particular car. I’m not trash talking any of the cars. The Celica is great. I might actually get one. Stating common issues isn’t trash talking. Have a better day!

yes, have a rx-8 expert look it over. or join the RX owners club for advice BEFORE YOU BUY.
Always get a car put on a lift, and inspected before you buy it. Either find a rotary engine specialist, or take it to a Mazda dealership.
