You hit on a lot. Pretty much all that is my mindset going into every game, but the one that hit most is don't let them get above their average numbers. My goal is always to at least hit my average numbers because they're pretty decent and keep them below theirs, which most times aren't near mine. I pride myself on being a defense first player with a pass first mentality on offense and it's great when I find the same. You channel really need to be seen by more of the community. It would do them so much good lol

Tip i got while playing even though i was beefing with they during the game lol was to not us turbo during defense lol. I was sprinting all over the place. I know barely us it on defence and I’ve definitely improved on that end loll
You can stand out by coming to the ball on an inbound play. The gaurds in this game run from the ball and then get mad when the inbounder throws a turnover🤦🏾♂️

If im honest, it all has to do with match ups, make sure your build isnt a liability at any major thing(shooting, passing, finishing) and youre good. You dont have to be good at those things, just be able to take advantage of your matchup. That with being patient with offense and youll be successful.
Rec randoms just need to stop running all over the court on offense and then blaming the PG for not being able to create offense. Stand the fuck still, if you cut call it out before you're cutting, and if you see the ball handler driving don't fuckin cut and bring an extra defender to the paint. And inside centers, set a damn screen and stop rolling into the paint if your man is playing drop the entire time. You're doing nothing out here

If you are a good defender, be on the lookout for the teams first option/hot hand. If they are frying their match up, switch onto their icon and guard them before they go up by too much. Nothing is more demoralizing than being down 15 in a random rec game and teammates will start to completely give up before attempting adjustments for a comeback.
That be a pride thing. To many folks will wait till after the game to plug in they mic and start making post game adjustments like we running a series out here 🤦🏿♂️
I def get into my court coach bag sometimes and getting dudes to understand that the fast break is over and move the ball through the half court set has started so many fights 😂
One thing that drives me crazy and goes with your on court coaching - not 1. Fouling when needed especially in the 4th and extending the game if down 2. Not slowing up in a close game with the lead. Kill the clock and make them foul you. My heart drops when it’s like. 4-5 point game and we’re not killing the clock. Random rec = bizarro world

Hands up defense is 90% effective. Jumping nonstop to get blocks against anyone with skill in the post will get you a quick foul with potential and one or just remove you from making the stop completely
For me hands up defense is the only way to go in the paint. I’ll hands up till u jump and thn I’ll go for the block. If u get it u get it it’s just 2 points. But most times it’s just one of them funny contest animations n a bad shot.
I literally don’t even invest in steals, i just play body up defense with my 90 strength and hands up contests and 8/10 times we’ll hold my assignments under double figures. It’s less exciting to some but it works
Seems like the quality of players has dropped. Last week I went from Purple to borderline bronze in a matter of 4 days. Started 6-1 then went 3-10 over that time period. I was in and out of the lobbies trying to get paired up with what looked to be solid players by their color, but that didn’t matter. From Blind PGs or high volume low make percentage 3 pt shot hunters to the guys that plays center but once the game starts he’s suddenly becomes an offensive heavy slashing 3 pt shot Hunter hybrid defender smh. Working my way back slowly
Been using a Jokic build just in case I need to score because all the randoms I play with and my brother are ball dominant shot chuckers. All centers need to have at least a 75 pass accuracy with how randoms play.

See the thing about passing the ball is that it’s a two way street, you can pass all you want, you miss one shot and you’re getting iced out no matter what. Some of these cats on the game rather stick it to their own team than try to win the game

Please put defense on your PG. Please. 87 minimum. You don't need 95 steal to play good defense...if you can lock up you man from 15pts to maybe 5pt. That makes it 4 or 5. Easy math.. that goes for all positions
I 1000% agree all you need is an 87 perem to play solid defense in this game. And I find without having the higher steal one plays better defense cuz they are not constantly putting themselves out of position with bad steal attempts.

Well I would say just don’t take contested shots. 84 isn’t all that high of a rating to be hitting contested consistently imo. But if ur set on it I would say ur going to have to practice hitting those types of shots. Start in the city games playing against disco and practice getting ur timing down. You can’t play basketball on 2k it does NOT correlate especially this year.. hands up paint defense works 7% of the time passes get thrown thru players bodies if you go for a steal at the perfect time you’ll get thrown outta the play with an over exaggerating reach animation.. I can agree with you on some of the things you said but some just don’t go with how this game is made or for the skillful players honestly

I wouldn’t even stress that joint to much. For us solo players that joint gone fluctuate regardless. They need to make it less about wins n losses
