- in this video i go over some of the worse types of randoms to play with in nba 2k24 solo rec. When it comes to solo rec in nba 2k24 or 2k in general if you play long enough you will get a list of randoms that are just bad at the game. if you find that you are matched up with one of these randoms well you already know its GGz.

I want to add on a honorable mention called "The defensive highlight".
They will take everyone else's matchup and double team while their man is hitting shot after shot and then when they FINALLY get that one on one they wanted so badly they have a 3 second span of good defense before getting cooked and will swear everything is the games or teammates fault

There is actually nothing wrong with having a 61 pass accuracy on a build. Gets you bronze dimer and relay passer for a reason. Yall think that a high pass accuracy somehow makes you a miraculously better basketball player in this game and that tells me everything I need to know. I have a 61 pass accuracy and average 6 ast per game. Meanwhile players are out here with 80-90 pass acc and dont even get over 3 assists a game.
Lol that means dude doesn't know how to pass. I have 3 pgs 92 pass,84 pass,56 pass. I can make the same passes with all 3 minus alleys with the lowest pass. You run 5 out its not rocket science. Stats don't matter in this game. Its whos controlling it.

Nothing irks me more than a dude who can shoot but chooses to camp paint all game. These guys will play as if they can't shoot the ball and then green some shit when you're down 30 in the 4th already.

Playin as a center, my least favorite player is the no defense cherry picking PF. You'll be left boxing out 3 dudes while some jabroni is under the basket at the opposite end bitching for you to throw it down. This is why i never help if the PF is getting cooked and i only throw it down court if they're actually contributing on D.
I’m def a pass first 3pt shot hunter in the rec cause you gotta have buy in from the entire team. All it takes is one diva to ruin the game. PGs, look at your team during intros and see who can shoot and who prefers the paint. Hit the cutters (not just slasher builds) early cause those be the worst to keep locked in on defense. Once yall run up the score, then put your shots up to let em know you can get it done too, but pass that bih every chance you get. Oh and if you don’t know what icon passing is, just make a PF my boy.
That pre game scouting is super invaluable. Let me see my match up shooting 20% from deep. Guess who’s camping paint till some one makes a shot
#1 if they are over 92 overall and in the black tier, that’s a dash.
#2. 3pt hunter, instant dash.
#3. if I see a guard without “diming” , “playmaking”, or “playmaker” in their build name.. i leave. can’t run with no guard that doesn’t have high pass a as cc
#4. inside bigs.. especially the “interior scorer/inside the arc threats”
#5. players with the park face scans. if I see an ugly old man/chuckie doll/all black tattooed player.. i leave. those are just park players who will spam dribbles, put up bricks, and quit by half time

For #3 especially as a pass-first player not a single one of my PGs have “Diming” or “Playmaking” in the name, not even my Magic build with 91 Pass Acc. However I still get the ball to the open man 9/10 times, sometimes I pass even a little too much

As someone who mainly runs an inside big I genuinely get your point about this playstyle. Lots of them always want to be involved in every way possible and that’s just not what they should be doing man. My build is a break starter. All it’s great for is grabbing boards, outlet passes and bullying in the post. I’ll only set a screen if I’m told to or they run near me. With hof brick wall it’s always an easy bucket after.

I’m curious when you not setting screens what are you doing? Because it’s easy to camp paint knowing the center you are guarding can’t shoot but he’s spotting up at the 3pt lane .
@@chefwudy9385 really depends on the game mode. Could be setting off ball screens playing 5s or pro am or I’ll be looking to get open inside the arc for the touch pass back to the other player.
I wanna add the non cutter. The players that start cutting toward the basket to have your wide open layup/dunk only to take it all the way back to the three point line and start his dribble god life.
Those players are never confident in themselves and take too much time to set up themselves

Is this why I don't get the ball much? lol I don't do the "dribble god" bs, but I'll switch up whether I'm going to drive or not making my guy question what I'm going to do on every play, but I will drive if the pass leads me to the paint and score most of the time. Or if the defense crashes, I'll kick it out. Not everyone is the same, but I feel you on the frustration of people who just don't know what they're doing. Oh....and I do knock down my threes if the ball does come to me at the three lol

One of the annoying things as a big is when I set a screen, I react to how the defense plays the pick. If I roll there’s always a random taking my cut and we got bunched up or I pop and someone runs from corner up to the wing so their defender is guarding both of us. Like people don’t understand you don’t need to always move. I’ll be open on the wing and then the corner guy just runs next to me like bruh gtfo my way

honorable mention in 92 and below rec there are these 70 something ovr players who are not even in a affiliation that make all the other players leave the lobby
70 is generous. Some of these guys come in with 60s. They’re either little kids or brain dead. I used to try and wait u til I was 95+ to leave 92 and under rec, now I leave as soon as I can hit 93.

Agreed 100 percent lmaoo I got a 3pt shot hunter that get busy though 💙over 65 percent from the field and 3pt but I use hella screens it’s like a good inside big, you can win with em, but you gotta sacrifice as a team to help me

Man I love running on my inside big. Diming paint beast. When I run random rec I ask if the guards want screens if they don't I just do my thing and that's chase rebounds and pass the ball and play defense for blocks and rebounds

My Dennis Rodman Build are both “Inside” Builds, they both CAN shoot with 60-65 3 Ball but they are paint oriented for the most part on offense however I don’t just post up or sit in the paint, I understand how to set off-ball & on-ball screens, dexing & just playmaking off the pressure I can put on the defense. But yes your points are valid I always preach to make bigs with AT LEAST a mid range rating
Got to have something to fall back on. I’ve seen some beast of inside bigs kill it with that Tim Duncan, lamarcus aldridge mid range shot. Comes down to iq at that point imo
1 thing everybody should know , a team that’s unpredictable is a team that’s hard to stop. If you keep slashing to the paint and you don’t shoot then it will be easy for the other team to clog up the paint, but once you start shooting it open up the whole court for everyone.

Inside bigs definitely be pissing me off. Getting their own rebound 3x in a row missing each and every dumb close shot meanwhile im wide open for a 3pointer. And its always the same ones standing in paint on defense not guarding their man when they can shoot. Miracle I havent broke my controller yet lmao.

I agree with most of this. But I can say I also have 2 inside bigs that I have over 70% FG and over 65% win all in random Rec. A good inside center can almost always be a bail out move when the teams offense is stagnating. But my inside big has 95 post, 95 strength, 93 O rebound 92 standing dunk 92 block. 7' max wingspan.
I think to fix a lot of these problems 2K could just use the "personality badge" system a little differently, like these things are personality traits so the players should get unique badges for this stuff. Like "blackhole," "loose cannon", "there's no I in team," "overdribbler," "lazy defender," and etc. And these badges should have tiers just like the other ones and what should happen is they unlock unique animations, overdribbler for example sometimes you should just drop the ball while doing dribble combos or if you try to out dribble double teams you fall and turn it over. Or if they don't want to do all of that make it so based on the tier of the badge it drops their ratings in those particular attributes. It should work like if you have lazy defender but a gold workhorse it drops the rating enough that workhorse becomes silver. I personally think it would add an interesting dynamic to the game.
Inside bigs on a video game where a person could easily choose attributes to shoot 3s...is crazy to me. Every inside big in the actual NBA would sell their soul to actually be a knockdown shooter from 3. I would win a greater number of my random rec games if the center could pull the other center outside of the paint.

Playstyles are more a factor than builds. Some ppl just don't know how to play or only one way to play
Totally agree my beef with these builds is mostly based around the users are 9/10 bad at the game. But I have run with good 3hunters slashers and a handful of insides. Just they are so far and few between that I’ve given up on em
I got a sf, paul george type build. Most of the time i just spot up and shoot 3s(60% shooter in the rec) and play defense. If im given the green light, then i can start dribbling, slashing, etc.
I can respect that. Similar way I play. Team ball and if it’s going crazy in our favor ima start letting it rain. But for the most part I’m just looking to feed folk n hit the open shot.
i made a 3 point hunter last week and i’m 6’1 but i have an 88 perimeter defense and i never use screen it’s kinda crazy but i usually end up blowing by people for scoop layups or floaters
The scoops and floaters are OP this year. Havent missed not having driving dunk at all.
As soon as I heard the first 2 it was an immediate like 3 point shot hunters and inside bigs are awful.

Inside bigs are absolutely the worst out of the worst. They have no contribution to the offense at all. Especially since most inside bigs press x as soon as they get the ball in the paint when there are plenty other moves to do. They don’t drop step, post spin, pump fake, post fade, post hook, nothing. Just shoot every layup as soon as they get the ball hoping for a foul or dunk and can’t shoot free throws😂

I agree to this if we are talking about someone with no skills. But both my inside bigs average over 70% FG and my best build is my defensive anchor that averages 18 points 20 rebounds 2.6 blocks and 4 assists.
Honestly, the builds can be the problem but people just have no IQ. Like the simple concept of switching defensive matchups and floor spacing be tearing people up. Not to mention people don’t look at their matchup to see what they can exploit. It really be like tears of joy when you find a random five who knows what they are doing.

Bruh my favorite is the 2 guards who insist on running the 1 but won’t pass, can’t cook, can’t shoot, don’t have a mic, and have 60 perimeter defense. Meanwhile im sitting there with a gold/purple nameplate shooting 6 for 6 at the half with an 89 pass acc just confused as hell. Like honestly I don’t have a problem sitting hash and shooting, but at know ball a little if you want to run the 1

As a 2 way inside the arc finisher big, you really do just have to find the right ones, i myself, start with a screen and roll, if it’s not helping, I get my butt on the post or spread to the middy wings for a mid range jumper, inside bigs are good if you have some good post scoring
I kinda had to stop playing rec after I realized that most people who play these online modes don't know ball and are often selfish players who have no business telling me I suck when all they do is shoot threes at an inefficient clip. Meanwhile I'm trying just to be a good teammate and make plays because I'm a point guard and not an SG and it's usually these SG or forward builds that try to freeze me out of the play and bring the ball up or dribble when the don't got it like that and when we lose it's always my fault for some reason even tho the SG and the forwards are the ones who poop the bed by ball hogging, turning over the ball and missing open shots smh.

Just any build that can’t shoot. It literally destroys any chance of spacing or allowing other players to cut or rim run because their matchup will always know their man is covered on the outside. Its so painful and an uphill battle every game
I got a a purple Diming Interior Threat. I can only play with certain ppl do to IQ. And if you can’t hit middy’s or floaters it’s going to be a long day against a good team. I usually only pull him out in proam. I have to have a PG with iQ and a team that isn’t cutting every second.
•The Hack (Damn Near Fouls Out Every Game & WILL put the opposing team in the bonus)
•Mr Black Hole (a.k.a Possession Ends Here/MPJ Jr.)
•Guards/Forwards that want to be bigs (setting screens with no strength)
•Mr. Pick & Stop (NOT POP, usually an inside center who sets a successful screen then does not roll/slip)
•”I don’t shoot those type of shots” MAKES A SHOOTING BUILD & does NOT shoot open shots (and usually force in the paint)
•The Guys Who CANNOT get stops whatsoever & then act like they aren’t the ones who made the build
•Flopper (Self Explanatory, Stop It.)
Also if you are this type of player you better not miss

As a pick and stop... We do that so low IQ guards don't throw interceptions on obvious pick and rolls.
Also when rolling at full speed sometimes you'd get animations then lose the ball by going out of bounds or some shit.
Obviously if it's WIDE open we will roll full speed. Not if it LOOKS wide open but if it IS wide open.
If you want a two pointer fuc a pick and roll. Just give me the ball already instead of dribbling out the clock.

Sometimes I set screens with the little ones because nobody does it , big waiting in the paint so does nobody can cut , sometimes all cuts and stand together on one place like bambini football, spacing at the greatest.
I average 20 ppg on 70% avg with my inside big. Every other inside big I play against has no idea what they’re doing down there lol. Im the perfect fit for the squad I play with because we have years of experience together but when I hop into solo rec everyone is pissed off that I can’t shoot 😂

Played with a PG today who was 6’1 and didn’t have an attribute in middy or 3, he just ran into the paint and played like a centre every possession. Somehow won by 3
One thing I always did was know what I needed for the position I played still you gotta know how to play but I knew if I was playing PG my pass had to be at least an 80 and dribble moves 90 and layup an 80 and middy to a mid 80 and up my 3 ball would be low almost close to mid 80 and my dunking kind of higher just cause I need to get easy buckets. Speed would be in the high 80’s especially with this new build system and have a defense of 80 at least and steal in the 80’s so he can at least be more all around. I haven’t played park but I seen how this is and refused to stress out

The worst archetype for me is any inside big scoring or defensive, doesn’t matter the inside scorers just swear up and down they should be able to yam on their man all game pr hit 99% or 100% heavily smothered standing layups all game. Not proud of myself but I got into a nasty argument the other day with an inside big where he basically told me to dunk on his man to score instead of taking open layups and dunks he just said dunk on his man to score. The IQ at this point is just not even attempted to be had on this game I’m just backing out of everything tbh at has a black name plate and interior what ever it’s a wrap.
Yeah man. Like the build itself don’t be the issue most time. But the person using them. For me I usually will only run with a golf or HOF inside player. But I’ll usually start the nite out running with whoever n the inside bigs all try to be shaq but don’t drop step which was shaqs go to move so I don’t be getting it 🤷♂️
Everyone should just tweet Ronnie and Mike about how bad the randoms are. Force them to implement a system where if someone's purposely selling, they get booted from the game. It takes too long for these dudes to grade out so they know how to sell and cheat the system. There's no reason why someone should be able to go 2/15 and stay in the game.
They def do have to do something. Even if it’s like giving folks a thumbs up option after the game. And trying to match up up perferably with pplz uve thumbs up before. N if ya thumbs down em thn u should never play with that person again unless u invite em or you been waiting 20+ minutes.
But I done started a running list of the bad PlayStation players just so I can back out n not waste 20 minutes of my life

I hate floor spacing slasher with a passion, every single one i get on my team... Has no 3 or middy. They always try to rim run and dunk over 3 people and get swatted every single time. While im on my sharpshooter than can do it all and still dunk on 4 people lmao

Me and my folks have a playstyle we run into that we call the Triple B Aka Butt Buddy Ball and that’s just when two or more players just swing the ball between themselves no matter if we up 10 or down 20 they see nobody but that other person even if they double or triple teamed
And ima the diva but I’m not for that reason I’ll put up 25 in the first half lead very secured and then won’t touch the ball at all til there’s 19 seconds left in the 4th and we down egregiously and my man is sitting at 6 points and everyone else man be sittin at 20+

The diva is worst. Had one not long ago with 70% 3pt rating. Didn’t get ball 1st possession so complained on coms and shot every shot from then on from wherever he was 1/2 court included. Had to just stop giving him the ball.
The wild part is I already know that fool stayed for damn near the whole game. Just to sell ya shit. Super lame n shows he just isn’t good at the game.

I just had a game last night where I went 4/4 with 4 assists in the first quarter and ima sf 3 lvl threat they refused to give the ball up but can go 4/12 and then come on the mike calling me trash when I was 9/10 at the end with 15 assists
as someone who uses a inside big in rec i dont score it’s more of a last option if im butt booty naked wide , it’s a break starter build and i get 10 oreb a game and pass out or throw full court fast breaks with a 92 pass acc but it works for me in random rec 80 w%
I was a mycareer only player up until this year, I used to never play park, rec or anything, just grind mycareer and enjoy the stories. But this year bro... It's soooo fucking trash, the whole goat story is absolutely sad and I'm so upset that they won't actually put effort and make it a real story, but that doesn't have nothing to do with the video.
I started playing Rec this year, started as a PF, Moved to Center, and now im a SF.
I play my best when I'm at Center but it got really boring quick so I made the switch and now im a SF with 84 three, 90 defense and 94 dunk.
My absolute favorite things to do is to play D and pass the ball and make my open shots, and it's just not like that with every other random that I played with bro.. Literally insane, people wanna dribble all day and just get their own.. Doesn't even feel like they wanna win, they just wanna see some cool numbers while shooting 4-22
I totally hear ya on the mycareer beef. At first I thought it was going to be decent but it’s def the worse story in a while.
Glad to hear ur finding success online tho. That sf sounds like a beast of a build and it sounds like it works well with ya playstyle. Hopefully we get teamed up one day in solos

I play a class cleaning interior threat.. I can't shoot but my pass accuracy is high. Idk if that makes up for it though I pass out of the post alot when I get collapsed on. And I do use post moves
So long as u not setting up directly in the paint. And u know how to work the post and play smart bball u should be good money.
My floor spacing slasher shoots 60% from 3 and 65% overall and I average 26 ppg , it’s my favorite build

Well I do have two of those builds specially for rec. And I don’t agree. It’s the way your team plays that matters more. Random rec is generally a 50-50 chance of winning or losing to start with but if you got a good squad and have chemistry the builds don’t matter that much (ofcourse not saying that you make a crap build). For example, my 3pt shot hunter is not a slouch, I focus on assisting teammates, and shooting when open or even slashing when needed and have got a decent defence (except for inside defence, let’s say) and it works if I have the right teammates/squad. Randoms are pretty whacky and they would spoil everything running everywhere continuously even if you ask them not to 😅
Not using those builds will really helps to swing that 50/50 your way.
@@whateverman23 don’t fully agree bro, I think it depends on how you have made the build. If you really know what you need to focus on then you can make the right build with the required attributes to play that role perfectly well. Random recs is just 50/50, you can’t win a game solo all the time, the other players need to function as a team.

Inside bigs are my nemesis. If the other team’s center has good inside defense it’s over for your squad. If those 🤡s could at least hit a middy it will help. But they turn everyone into 3 point shooters meanwhile the defense can bail out on the perimeter cuz even if you blow by they have inside help. 🚮. They turn into tho only one that can score but then you’re trading 2s for 3s & 2s.

Na slashers in general be decent to good builds. It’s usually the user that makes me end up not wanting to run with them
The problem is a lot of slashers think because they have a 90+ dunk they should get a contact over a 7 footer ever possession.
