    Nice little walk around tour, a fine balance of having enough tools to do the job and space to add more tools. To the extreme of mass tools and having to unload half of a tool box to get 1 tool you need out. Stay safe out there Steve helping those in need.

    I feel like once I get enough experience with truck driving, I might get into recovery, but I’ll need the CE driver’s license. Since I only got the C.

    Another great tour Steve, nice to see a real world tour of as used equipment and how you rack it away.
    Tours of brand new off the production line trucks with row upon row of pristine never used kit are boring and don't really help anyone.

    Great video and a nice truck Steve. You mention wanting a smaller impact to replace that DeWalt. Ive spent alot of time working in HGV workshops recently with the Milwaukee 1/2 inch mid torque and id definetly reccomend. Has become my go to instead of reaching for the heavy 3/4 and 1 inch guns, even started to wean the older guys off their air guns.

    Another great video Steve, really jealous of your wagon and all the kit!
    When I watch other videos on RUclips of HGV recovery, instead of using forks on the axle or wheel grids, they use a set-up that fixes to the towing eye points. To my untrained eye that way seems alot easier, quicker and safer as you're not having to get under the vehicle. Why is it that this method is used as much?

    • @HeavyRecoverywithSteve
      @HeavyRecoverywithSteve  2 года назад +3

      Hi Billy, think you referring to VDZ Systems yes i seen videos as well not sure be quicker or easier but safer not under truck chaining down.They also allow the front wheels of the casualty vehicle to be towed with the wheels on the road so less weight you lifting so smaller truck could be used but think cost could be main stumbling block they dont come cheap.

  • @lghdg

    Loved this vid Steve, great to see the tools of the trade and how you have to be prepared for any scenario. Is the blue pole underneath kerbside of the truck for towing ?

    • @HeavyRecoverywithSteve
      @HeavyRecoverywithSteve  2 года назад +2

      Hi Paul, yes tow pole used for flat towing when wheels of casualty vehicle needs to be kept on ground.Not used very much but handy maybe to recovery a heavy mobile crane when lifting with underlift not a option due to weight involved.

      Hi Hugh, tennis ball for filling up at fuel pumps keeps lever pressed into handle saves holding it , good spotting it.Soft shackles?
