I have alopecia (hair loss) and as a result the hair on the top of my head is quite short. I wanted a hairstyle that would sort of disguise this so I tried following this, and although it was a bit tricky with the shorter hair on the top it worked really well because of adding in the longer hair gradually. it's possible! it takes A LOT OF PRACTICE but you can do it. I've been single-french braiding my hair for years so that helped a lot when I decided to double it. But even when I started doing a single French braid, it took me a while. It also depends on your hair texture. I have fine hair. and it's somewhat long.

So I’ve been doing it wrong all my life! I’m able to french braid but I’ve always added the extra hair into the section and then crossing the middle, rather than crossing into the middle and then adding a section from the same side into the middle! Can’t wait to try this.

Try just doing a tight regular braid and slowly bring more hair into it as you go down. That’s what I did !
