Hi I love this watch, the size is perfect, I love the textured face and I think everyone who had input with the design and getting it made etc. should be very happy with the result, it was just a pity I didn't have the funds to order one at the time, maybe next time, cheers stay safe.
I won’t buy a watch without a bracelet option......but...this looks pretty sweet. I appreciate the simplistic style. I’ll come around one of these days, I keep filling my drawers with straps thinking I’ll throw one on one day....one day🤷🏼♂️.
I’m the proud owner of #57 and extremely pleased with the final product! Love the provided strap but hoping James comes up with a bracelet. Looking forward to the next design. Love seeing your response and open review, great job!
I followed the development and gestation of this on ILW. Almost, almost got one. Perhaps should have, as it’s a neat little number. My only observations, and as these are subjective they couldn’t be classed as criticisms, I would have preferred a no date, I would like an engraved rehault, and lumed indeces, like an Oris 65. Great price for a Minotaur 9015 movement, too. I am delighted it all worked out.
Nice first impressions. Love mine. Size and bezzel is perfect. Lume impressive to me. Just to confirm movement is miyota 9000 series not nh35. Can't believe your mate lent it straight away. Top bloke.
Great first impressions. I’d never normally buy a watch of this size as I have 8”ish wrists but to me it doesn’t look small on my wrist which is amazing. The build quality and finishing is superb and that bezel😍😍
Thanks Aaron, 7¾" for me, so you just answered a question that I've been thinking for weeks. So kicking myself for not getting in the first 100. I bet the second run will be a lot more than $200. 😕
We haven’t settled on the price because we don’t actually know the costs but I would imagine it will be well under $300. James is designing the bracelet and making a bespoke tapering bracelet is not cheap.....especially when you spread the development costs over a low number of production units but we will endeavour to keep the costs as low as we can.
Great video - you picked up on many of the same things I did when I first saw this watch. You really focused in on some of the key design elements-well done.
Love the size but have to agree with the purple writing on the face its a distracting also is there much point in having a high polish on the case back? I mean is it going to be visible?
Nice unboxing of this stunning little watch. I myself am the proud owner of #24! In general I agree with your conclusion, but you were wrong about the movement. It's got a Miyota 9015. Another fun-to-use gadget by Weishi would have told you that! 😆 Cheers Dan!
A nice review of a lovely watch. I held off as it was advertised as a 38mm, but 40mm is my sweet spot, but in retrospect, I think I made a mistake not picking one up...
its a great looking watch I like a slightly bigger watch this looks fantastic so when they do another run ill bite as the work that's gone into this is great great review
Did anyone mention that you got the movement wrong? No? 😉. Anyway, I own #88, and I agree with virtually every aspect of your assessment. That tells me that the build quality is consistent across all watches. By the way, Gary and James (the designer) sold the watch at cost for $200 rather than £200. Look forward to the full review. Thanks!
@@watchmewithwatches I am enjoying it indeed. It arrived on Dec 31, and I decided to make it my daily watch throughout Jan. Then, it’s on to my next watch for Feb, the Nodus Sector Pilot, which should arrive by the end of this month. I’ve decided to wear one watch per month this year. My collection’s pretty small, so I should be able to wear each one for multiple complete months this year. I’m hoping I will enjoy and appreciate each watch more by EOY. Being a YT watch reviewer, I imagine you can’t spend so much time one a single watch.
Maybe in your full review show a few of your straps we could buy for it? It’s my first watch not on a steel bracelet as I just love the steel😂 Lookin at your tropic strap would that suit it do you think?
It's a great looking little watch , nice you got to experience one Dan .......... P.S. not sure what it does in terms of damage etc , but you changed the date while at midnight or 1am , which i understand is a big no no
Beautiful watch, but why not use something like Pi or some constant that is used in science and engineering with 20 digits or so, like the Boltzmann or Planck or put the units in a table.
Looks very nice for a first attempt. The bezel looks very brushed, is that definitely ceramic? Either way lovely to see a smaller proportioned diver, not too many of them about which is a bit of a shame if you ask me.
Must point out a schoolboy error, I love your videos.. so thanks and keep them coming.. but never do a date change on any watch at 1 o clock, you risk damaging the date change mechanism.. I know you were still in the pm position so it was fine, just best practice to always do it between a 4 and 8...
@@watchmewithwatches no problem, in fact I have quite a few watches you can review.. also have a timegrapher I am willing to donate to you.. will help you massively with reviews.. don’t know how to contact you privately to give you details
@@dylanglyn hi Dylan, do you have Instagram? Thank you for the very kind offer of a timegrapher, but I have one on the way! My email is also in the about section of the channel. Thanks again.
It was a limited 100 piece run, all sold at production cost ($200). The designer is going to come up with a new model with Cronos sometime, according to Gary at I Like Watches. Stay tuned to his channel for updates!
Miyota has several “grades” of movements, some of which don’t hack and beat at lower rates (21,600 for eg.). This has the 9000 series, which hacks, hand-winds, and beats at 28,800 bph. Gives it (to my eye) a much smoother sweep. Also much slimmer than other movts hence the sub-11mm thickness.
It's a great size and obviously well made, but the looks are just, meh. As for the name Exciton, well I'd rather have a Phylida, and I really don't like the name Phylida!
Couple of points : don't expect 316 stainless from a benyar watch under £60, and moan when it's not. U get what u pay for. It's Ali Express ! Secondly, do research on the watch u are reviewing, saying it's a nh35 makes you look like an amateur who couldn't bother to find out about it. Thirdly, this is the 3rd vid in a row you are overtly pushing your straps. If l wanted a strap vid fine , but l don't. And yes, l bought an exciton and concur with most of the your comments.
I'm sorry, but am I the only one who thinks this watch is, at best, meh? The design looks uninspired and, frankly, boring. Plus the white date wheel and questionable back don't do it any favors. I'm sure it's well built, and the specs and price are great, but still... Btw, I'm a fan of Gary's channel so nothing personal.
That is very kind of Brian. I don't think I'll be lending mine out.
Miyota 9015 sold at cost for $200 which was the total cost per unit. Thanks for the shout out! lol!
You beat me to it😂
Thanks, I added the correction to my description 😀
I regret not getting one now! Its lovely. Exciting to see a new product with fresh design. As a first watch, it shows what great things will come.

It's a great watch, still wearing mine!!! Nice to see someone review it that hasn't purchased one. Truly unbiased is the way to go!!!
Nice watch, perfect size 38-40mm. Reminds of an Oris 65 and a 62 MAS. Also, the notation on the back is a basic conversion table.

I can't wait for the opportunity to purchase one from a future run. Thank you for your first impressions Dan.
A pleasure

I've got mine. It's very well made, as you'd expect from Chronos (Lugyou). Most of their offerings have drilled lugs.
It's definitely a looker! I've said it before and will probably say it again, Brian is a top guy!

@@oldmantime5541 I agree, it seems to be a fine balancing act to sell a product with the fit and finish etc people like at an affordable price.
Thanks Gary,. That's a relief. I was a bit worried it would go a bit San Martin with the price!
My small wrist is screaming in high pitch because it has found a watch that finally fits him.

Super nice watch, with A+ dimensions!! =)
Think they should have lumed the date numerals instead of/as well as the date window outline.

Doesn't the Myota movement not hack,? This watch has a hacking movement which means its either a NH35 or a DG2813
The 9015 is a posh miyota. High beat, hack and hand wind
