      I just found it today! Lol. Then I realized that this method is only good for those of us that want to keep higher fat content in the food we are 'grilling' because of the *foil placement overrides the groved design of the Foreman Grill. That said, one could form-fit the foil to the grill surfaces and that might work better.🤷🏼 Idk. I only came here to learn about cleaning it since mine was in storage for a long time. Thanks to anyone reading this. Take care.

    Great tip Brandon Campbell Another great alternative to using your method is whenever you are done grilling, place a wet towel in the grill and let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe off the steam from the griddle.

    I started doing this earlier this year and it's been so convenient. I like to use heavy duty foil just so I don't accidentally tear the foil and get all the juices everywhere

  • @SpankyBurrito
    @SpankyBurrito 12 лет назад +2

    I just used this method and it was much much more convenient than cleaning it after every use. I used to clean it right after cooking before the stuff dries up. Now I can go straight to eating after cooking, so happy.

  • @BasementBrandon
    @BasementBrandon  12 лет назад

    It doesn't remove any more fat really than conventional cooking, it just looks that way as You have a tray to show you what's left over. It'd be the same as taking what's left in the pan and putting it in a cup after.

  • @BasementBrandon
    @BasementBrandon  12 лет назад

    Considering you can get 75 feet of foil for around $4, you'll be able to do this around 50 times. Or, $0.08 each time. Well worth it IMO.

  • @nyterpfan

    So help me I will never understand why people have such angst over cleaning this grill. It isn't rocket science!! I have the very model displayed here in this video and have been using it for several years with no issues about the cleanup at all. These are the key points: 1) Use a non-stick olive oil spray on the plates before cooking---(yes, it does help). 2) After cooking while the plates are still WARM, NOT HOT, take a couple of damp paper towels and wipe the grill plates of all excess grease. 3) Get yourself some specially designed George Foreman grill sponges--(you can buy them at Bed, Bath and Beyond or online at Amazon) and use the sponge to gently scrub between the grooves of the top and bottom plates. You should first dampen the sponge with warm water and add just a touch of detergent. 4) Wipe plates clean and dry with a handy-wipe. This process takes about 5-7 minutes--trust me it won't kill you LOL!!

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  9 лет назад +1

      The process you outline above is what we all do already, but the thing is we don't want to take 5-7 minutes to clean it, hence the point of this video.

    • @nyterpfan
      @nyterpfan 9 лет назад +1

      I suppose it comes down to a matter of preference--but I would much rather take a few minutes to clean the grill than to use tinfoil. (I'm not too cool on using tinfoil when cooking on this machine---not sure that's a healthy practice in the long run.)

    Fair enough! I will just say be careful as fast weight loss can result in diminished strength, muscle and even leave you with loose skin (depending on how much you have to lose).

  • @BasementBrandon
    @BasementBrandon  12 лет назад

    I don't think that's a fair point. It's not necessarily unhealthy either. There hasn't been any research to show a cause and effect relationship between grilling and cancer. If someone is worried about it that much they can just trim off portions that are over cooked/burnt.

  • @BasementBrandon

    I still like to stick to 3 sets of deadlifts, typically 3 sets of 5 reps. With DL's they tax your central nervous system very heavily and people also tend to slip up on form when going high reps.

    How do you go about tracking macros in terms of cooking chicken for example on the grill?

  • @zippyman818
    @zippyman818 12 лет назад

    *HINT*
    Bash the chicken inside a plastic bag with something heavy like a mallet or a can of yams, so that the chicken is an even thickness. This ensures complete cooking throughout. For more stress relief bash the hell out of it until it's a thin cutlet, that'll cook even faster. When the juices go from pink to clear, then it's cooked!
