My tip: As soon as I finish cooking I unplug grill, put a few very moist paper towels over the grill surface, spread it around, CLOSE THE GRILL, go eat. Clean up is a breeze.
Well I had a georgeforman grill in 2002 used it often then another in 2006 used it a lot then I am here in 2024 just got another one at goodwill forgot how much I loved this grill I use it all the time😊saves time food comes out nice. Had a heart attack a couple months ago should be helpful for eating little more healthy.
The George Foreman Grill officially debuted in 1994...big marketing push from 1994-2004 or so...not nearly as much marketing dollars spent since. A bunch of other gadgets that did effectively the same thing came out though like quesadilla makes and panini presses but I think George Foreman is the gold standard. Lots of improvements and they're still around, pretty impressive!
Just got one from Amazon, the smaller model for about $16, there are several other options with interesting features I'd like to check out at some point.
It's good while it lasts Unfortunately it does not last too long maybe a couple of months but after that it starts sticking even when the surface looks good so when I cook chicken or fish it usually sticks to the upper plate Using oil or anything else is useless as it runs off Using alumonum foil it just makesit stick to the foil instead of the plate than I have to peel off the foil off the chicken
I understand and it does work with parchment paper but now you have to buy additional stuff because the product is not good enough It shouldn't be that way I am trying out an air fryer now At least it's easier to clean as you can take out the bottom plate to wash it but even that one I see some spots where the nonstick layer is coming off I think pretty soon I might go back to frying it in the pan with oil that way I can regulate the temp better @@pattyingram9419
I always keep it closed. First for safety, you would not want to touch the hot plate accidently. Second because the closed position will trap the heat in.
Obviously closed will heat faster...but marginally. But as mentioned above, it's a safety issue as well. Newer models have a red/green LED on them to indicate 'Ready' so you'll want it closed to be able to see this. My old model only has a red light to indicate when the heating element is cycling on to maintain temperature, then shuts off with the heating element.
Should I put my hand or any other body parts in the George Foreman grill? It doesn't say in the manual. I need Mashed to tell me how to have a better life. Thanks.
The worst mistake ever made with a George Foreman grill is to buy one they're hard to clean no matter how it takes a long time to clean them cuz you can't throw them in the water and afterwards just get too lazy to throw it out
Don't get one. I meticulously take excellent care of my grill, but after only 2 years, it doesn't work as well as it used to. Heat isn't controlled, and it gets too hot too quickly, and it is ruining the plates
@@njbrx cheap... poorly made... kills the soul outa food.... mostly doesnt work. Can only put thin slice of bread in it. Tried 2 thinking the 1st was defective cuz of how uneqaully it cooks to make sure it not user error.
@@Cinemaphile7783 the main reason is its not meant for thick cuts... only paper thin substances.... thus does not cook evenly and is very dry. Idk how clearer to make. Regardless. This grill sucks.
Have fun grilling in negative degrees weather...everything has it's place, nothing will ever beat the classic charcoal or gas grill but I'm not lighting a grill to cook a single 5 minute item for one person, def not going outside in the freezing winter months to mess around with it either. Little pay off for lots of work.
What tips and tricks do you have for cooking with a George Foreman grill?
My tip: As soon as I finish cooking I unplug grill, put a few very moist paper towels over the grill surface, spread it around, CLOSE THE GRILL, go eat. Clean up is a breeze.
yep i do the same! don't wait for all the crud to dry up!
As a single guy I use the Foreman grill very often. I always use parchment paper or aluminum foil sprayed with Pam for easy clean up
Same here. I use the single sheets of parchment paper or single foil sheets to seal in the moisture and make for easy clean up.
Work smarter, not harder!!@@successalive5
So you wrap your meat in the aluminum foil and then cook it that way
This is the way...parchment and paper helps keep the chemicals from the non stick coating out of your food and make clean up easy.
@@anaihilatorfumes are penetrating your food anyway though…😮
After cooking, I dampen a paper towel and lay it on the grill and close the lid. Then when i come back, nothing is sticking and I can clean it easily.

Satay away from oil, and use ghee. Thats is the most healty way.
Don’t use any vegetable (seed) oil. Use avocado oil instead. That has a very high smoke point.
I accidently stepped on a George Foreman grill.

The best french toast I made was using the George Foreman grill, bar none.
If that's the best than you really don't know what's good!

I love my George Foreman grills!
We loved our GF grill back in the 80's used it a lot. But haven't seen or heard much about them for the past 40 years or so.
you can go to their website
I see them in thrift shop cheap. Some are like new.

80s-90s yeah pretty much same thing

George Foreman + Greaseproof Paper = Win
Useful tip if your foods not cooked put it back in until it is 👍

Parchment paper is the answer to your problem.

They are great at making sandwiches.
Best indoor grille ever, 3 minutes to cook my chicken breast
I always go 4 minutes and it's prefect
Frozen?@@chipsammich2078
I have several of these . You can grill pasties on them as well
Outstanding presentation. Thanks!
I always wondered that when you are preheating foreman type grills, are you supposed to heat it with it closed or open? 7:01
I always keep it closed. First for safety, you would not want to touch the hot plate accidently. Second because the closed position will trap the heat in.

For small dwellings or ultra fast cooking and easy clean up. Bachelor special.😂
Is it best to add oil after heating or before?
Calling it little George.
My best tip is to throw it in the bin and use a pan or griddle.
Yes I have George Forman lean machine grill my sandwich is good

clean while it's still warm ,easy to clean
NEVER had a prob cleaning. You are lazy or stupid
Sounds like a you problem
Have one what a joke it does not get hot no sear just steam and a pain to clean just use a pan.
Using cling film to tenderise meat is bad but otherwise great video
The sibilance is killing my ears please use a de-esser next time.
I think it's a great product for dieters or little girls who want to play BBQ but you can't compare it to a propane powered Grill
It's a normal grill, not one that's made for a bbq
Fights on!
Mine makes perfect cheeseburgers 😊

I Love Mine
I can’t cook on a George foreskin grill. I just tilt my pan to keep the fat draining.
Ironically all the oils they said NOT to use are the only oils that are digestible, absorbable and found naturally in the human ancestral diet.
These grills are garbage, they turn on their own.
Yea no. This grill sucks.
Why?
