quick question. If you requested help from the council what do you do with all those cards? are they then discarded? just tried to play it tonight and we were either too drunk or too tired to figure out whats going on
Good question. All of those ally cards are added to your hand when you request support from the council. Those cards can be used to recruit lords. Sorry it took so long to get back to you! Thanks for watching!
what if while exploring the depths the last card is bought by an opponent does the active player get to pick the card before or is he just out of luck?
From the rulebook on page 4, "If all the spaces on the Exploration Track are filled with Allies, and none of your opponents wants to buy the last Ally you revealed, you must add that Ally to your hand. You then gain one Pearl (as shown on the board). So if an opponent purchases the Ally card that would go in the last spot it does not trigger the pearl. Instead you will draw another card and if it's an Ally offer it to any opponents who have not yet purchased a card that round. If no one purchases it then that's the card that must go into your hand and you'll get the pearl at that point.
Bored Online? Board Offline! thanks for your reply but my question was if you haven't taken one into your hand yet and someone buys the last one that comes out do I get the card before that or do I not get a card?
+Union_Yagow you would draw an additional card, offer it to any players who haven't purchased one yet, and if they all pass on it then you would take it into your hand and gain a pearl. If one of those players purchased it from you then you would repeat this process until you finally took a card yourself.
+Matafer thanks for the question and the subscription! On page 8 under Paying the Lord Cost the rulebook says, "You must play the exact number of different races required (no more and no less)." The example at the bottom of that page goes on to give two examples of that rule in play.
In another video they say you only refill the third lord space (when someone took the third lord card) and do not refill all six lord spaces. Which rule is correct?
i got a question. my friend said that a player is only allowed to hold 10 cards at once is that true. also, if you receive 3 keys from killing monsters, no lords will be put under the locations correct? thanks! i liked the video
There is no limit to the number of ally cards you can have in your hand. If you wanted to collect the whole deck you would be welcome to try! Though I wouldn't recommend that strategy of course haha. And yes you are correct. Each location requires 3 keys and if all 3 keys come from fighting monsters then you gain control of that location without the use of any lords. Keep in mind that when you gain your third key you must immediately take control of a location. This prevents someone from being able to pick and choose which keys to use.
GREAT video. Very clear, well-explained, and good job bringing cards closer to the camera when talking about specific information.
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching!
I bought this a while back, playing it tonight! Thank you very much for this video!

Very clear and easy explanation. Thanks a lot!!
Glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching!
Am I correct in assuming that if you recruit a lord that does not have a key, that lord would never be used to control a location?
That's absolutely correct. Thanks for the question and for watching!

@@BoredOnlineBoardOffline that's great. But once the lord is recruited are they then returned to the discard pile?
Any used to recruit the lord are discarded. The rest remain in your hand.
Great explanation. Thank you.

Where does it say you have to have use only one type of ally for the peddler or single faction cost?

+Keindzjim good question. Page 8 of the rulebook under Refill the Court states that you fill all empty spaces.
