    That endgame was beautiful! Great harmony between all of your pieces all time long, getting all of your pieces playing, pawns creating outposts and protecting each other, king helping out in key moments, knight being tricky as usual and all together making that bishop their... well, let's just say they didn't respect that bish.

    There’s a pool of obscure variations in the Bogo Indian to choose from, like the one used in this game. Most of the lines are dead because they aren’t that effective.
    Most notably, the Wade-Wilson variation is part of that dead pool.

    The last couple videos seem to have weird audio. Some compression artifacts or something giving a metallic ring to your voice. Especially notable in the introduction, right after the title screen with the ding. Did you change microphones?

      Hey Jerry, I'm a professional audio/broadcast engineer. I love your channel and hate bad sound, which is sufficient motivation to offer my troubleshooting services free of charge. Like greenkid says, sounds like compression artifacts from your final encode, but it could always be something else in the chain.

    On move 45. c6 was a tricky rock sacrifice, black can't take it, and I thought white could start to have some counterplay but sadly his bishop is running out of squares and by simply taking on c6 black also has Rd3 next move.

    37:34 - I liked the look of Nf3+, king moves, and e4. Nf3+, Kg2, e4, Qc3+, Kg8? If Black can ever get in Qd7 (threatening Qd1 and Qg8#) can't Black just give up the f7 pawn? Nf3+, Kg2, e4, Qc3+, Kg8, Ra1 (protecting back rank), Nd7 forking queen and bishop.

    • @TranscendentalTunes
      @TranscendentalTunes 6 лет назад

      I would like to see the eval on Nf3+ and e4 to see how much worse it was (since the computer like pawn takes instead.

  • @levinies2187
    @levinies2187 6 лет назад +3

    at 42:41 couldn't you do Rd2+ followed by Nf1+ to exchange rooks and then push the b-pawn?

    • @FromTheMountain

      Yes, that would've been winning. Well found!

    • @levinies2187
      @levinies2187 6 лет назад

      thanks, I found that move pretty much instantly even though I'm a 1600 rated player. Granted I am a bit underrated and I'm also pretty good at endgames, but I thought a player as Jerry would have found such a move. of course I understand that it is a high-pressure situation but idk

    • @FromTheMountain
      @FromTheMountain 6 лет назад

      As good a player as Jerry is, I think he sometimes lacks the awareness to check for tactical options and forgets to calculate the most forcing moves. In this case, he really isn't to blame considering he had 16 seconds on the clock! Nevertheless, it's impressive you found the tactic so quickly.

    At roughly the 20:00 mark, is there no way for 13...c5, with an idea of sacrificing the knight on the first recapture to ensure you’re left with a pawn on that square, protected by the queen until you can get b5 in?

    • @TranscendentalTunes
      @TranscendentalTunes 6 лет назад

      What is the variation you're seeing?

    • @Islacrusez
      @Islacrusez 6 лет назад

      Something to the tune of
      13 Rfc1 c5
      14 bxc6 kxc6
      15 dxc6 dxc6
      but that's about as far as I can carry it; I'm a very lowly player and a half decent player can probably analyse out the rest pretty quickly. I was wondering if anyone could see if the resulting position was worth playing (or better, worth the knight), or if it was entirely dead-end.
      You could potentially see about getting the following in, but not sure how it would actually play out
      16 ... b6
      I'll run it through lichess and see where that gets me, but I don't have the same understanding of what's important, and I also suspect that an engine isn't going to give the same analysis of a piece-for-position trade anyway.

    • @Islacrusez
      @Islacrusez 6 лет назад

      Perhaps the question is not "would this work", but "how does this fall down" (dropping a knight notwithstanding)?
      (also this sequence ends on a +4.5 evaluation, so the idea certainly appears to be terminal)
