A year late but just wrap both of the ends of cord around your finder forming a loop in the middle of the cords. Then take the ends of the cords and pull them through that loop creating a knot. Then just tighten the knot as tight as it will get.

The carrier isn't based off waistline, its on chest circumference. If you go on Crye's website, you can find a sizing chart. Measure from around your chest (at nipple level) and see at what size bracket you fit in.
Austin Allen this is old but it’s not even based on chest circumference either, it’s based on plate sizes. Measure for plate sizes and then get a carrier that would fit the plate

the size of the plate carrier refers to the size of the plates you can put in them, not body size
