    This has been around since the minelab 1600 that I know of. We built one back in the 90's. Second nugget found(not by me) was 50 oz's cruising around a salt lake on a three wheeler.

    Yeah there's a company in Oregon that makes gpr for locating utilities that you drag behind a 4hweeler or walk that can detect gold. They were working with drones too.

    Salt lakes are too distant from source rocks and the sediment is too deep for superficial prospecting to pick up gold. Big nuggets don’t travel far and wherever they do land they tend to settle close to or on top of bedrock under any depth of sediment.

    Nothing new about large coils, they have been using large homemade coils out of PVC tubing up to 2 square metres in size for detecting meteorites for 20 years that I know of.
