    Americans never address the problem of addiction on their part, that has gone so out of control that it’s funding multiple paramilitary cartels and keeping their lights on, and also the weapons brought into Mexico is never mentioned. What is being done about keeping people off drugs and stopping the illegal trade of firearms?

      Since a lot of this involves things crossing the border illegally, I'd think the first step would be for both sides to vigorously enforce the law along the border. If only there was some way to prevent things going across except at specific points where law enforcement can regulate it- like, I dunno, a wall?

    Mexico has EVERYTHING to become not only a regional power next to the US, but also a world wide power. It has cheap labor, a young educated labor force, natural resources, land size, access to Pacific & Atlantic Ocean, no regional enemies or threats, friends with the US & Canada (no one other than the US would dare attack them, attacking Mexico would result in direct Us involvement) ever growing foreign direct investment from all over the world, a growing tourism sector, among the richest culture. Producing drugs in Mexico and South America and selling them in North America and in other parts of the world has basically become an international business with enablers in all levels of governments and at the executive levels in many multinational corporations.
    I think there is an equal duty and responsibility on both sides of the supply and demand sides of this business to try and control it and try to make it legal and legitimate.
    I am sure there is some illegal and criminal activity that goes on in the production and selling of liquor, beer, wine, tobacco and pharmaceutical drugs but governments and the businesses that produce and sell them for the most part compete and operate according to rules and laws that have been agreed to.
    If the countries that produce and consume drugs recognize that they are both equally responsible to produce and enforce legislation that can transformer the drug trade into a legal business, there will probably be a significant reduction in the gang violence that presently controls this business.

    • @mecha1gold
      @mecha1gold 16 дней назад

      I agree with you. I have to say the main issue is that the countries that produce are poor and the country that consumes is the largest economy in history and they do nothing on their side, in fact you can still see how they allow the "party culture" and TV shows and movies to promote drug consumtion. In Latin America this has been an issue of decades that has concluded in narcos having more money and military equipment than our states and they are now the ones that run the show. In fact there is people from FBI and CIA that are in the drug selling business and even people from all over the world there are even cartels financed by China. The US let this problem grow too big but it never seemed that they cared it even seems like they promote the drug cartels... Drug cartels go arrouns with US american military equipment and pay with USD while even using ex US military guys as body guards and having shareholders from important US institutions.

  • @BlueDirt_ProAggressive

    AMLO keeps a "live and let live" woth the cartels. They keep the violence out the street, the govt wont directly interfere. The lead lady candidate has a similar mind set.
    Obviously they want to expell the cartels but with their vash membership, wealth and willingness to commit public violence against anybody, it's easier said than done. The US could help but it would cost citizens their lives and property.

      Bukele's strategy was the one followed in the past in Mexico and the one that caused all this violence. I'm glad that it worked there in El Salvador but you must take into account that this country has less population than Mexico City alone. Without forgetting that Bukele faced gangs and not paramilitary groups that take entire communities hostage when they feel threatened.

    • @darthjarjar5309
      @darthjarjar5309 26 дней назад +11

      It’s impossible to do because El Salvador is a tiny country, it easy to target the criminal gangs and where they are concentrated. Mexico is 30x the size and mountainous - it’s akin to the US going into Afghanistan and expecting to win.
      Mexico could ask the US for real military aid and intel, as well as special forces from Western Europe where cartels have also made a mark. Basically, a coalition would be needed, and Mexico would need to be divided into various smaller sectors with closed borders and basically have special forces conduct raids until they dismantle them.
      An international tribunal would also need to audit every Mexican federal official to start, and go down all the way to state level audits.
      But sadly, the US has zero REAL interest in actually helping out, apparently the status quo is fine. And Mexicans are too fcking nationalistic to ask for help from other countries. I think Mexico can solve the problem, but with foreign help, but we won’t see the country rid itself from Organized Crime and the widespread corruption that it is infested with.

    Narcotraficantés would be financially hobbled if the Mexicans had legalized drugs, yet Mexico is blindly bound to the failed policy of criminalization creating multimillionaire drug cartels easily able to buy, intimidate or simply disallow voting. Weak governments like these are essentially narco-states cloaked in a false venir of democracy. Legalized drugs would sufficiently weaken the drug cartels to the point of being brought to heel, or greatly diminished.

    The Mexican people have voted and it’s clear they’re much happier with this new party - by a landslide. They talk about things getting better for Mexico, but all I hear is Americans and Europeans talking smack. Maybe a little humility is in order: it’s easy to have armchair opinions when you don’t live there. Personally, I think Mexico has a bright future as it comes into its own on the word stage and I hope the next 6 years are the best yet.

    AMLO still loved by most of Mexican people due to his charisma and skill to easily connect with the most poor sectors of the people (which is not exactly small), something that most of politicians in mexico and abroad cant.
    The fact that Mexicans dont believe there is a real alternative is real, the other main candidate for this elections is basically a joke, representing the PRI that ruled the country for 70 years that produced that huge level of corruption in the government and that gave us one of the most corrupt regimes leaded by Peña Nieto and also representing PAN, they held power from 2000-2012, they declared the ''war on drugs'' policies that only started the bloodshed that the country still suffers, (btw the fast and furious scandal happened during this administration, allowing those military type guns to cross the border and given to cartels).
    I think that AMLO deserves lots of criticism, for example during his campaign for elections he promised legalize marihuana and other soft drugs (something that the US had to do with alcohol when they faced those problems with mafias during the 20's). But when he reached power he quickly forgot about that possibility.
    Other big mistake is allowing former politicians from the most corrupt parties to join MORENA but well, in the US both democrats and republicans are not corrupt because lobbying is legal, nice trick to keep the corruption low, talking about self criticism!

Rescued PEMEX, Nationalized it's Lithium, rescued it's electrical grid CFE, which is mostly government ran, increased minimun wage by 200% which was super low bcuz obviously USA wanted to make huge profit from sending all it's major companies over there, aka near shoring once they got hostile with China.. AMLO is popular bcuz he defended Mexico's national interests, not USA's interests.. He shrunk extreme poverty, brought millions of Mexicans into the middle class..
