    Hey, Dr. William, so I had a gynecomastia almost 18 months ago, and unfortunately, after a couple of months, I was diagnosed with acute pulmonary embolism, and I had to stay in the IC for almost a week. Now, my BMI is 41.5, and I was wondering if I could do a 360 tummy tuck with liposuction on my thighs? Most probably, I have a type 2 lipedema, which is rare in males!

      I would not suggest any cosmetic surgery with a previous pulmonary embolus.

    Can i do chin lipo before getting pregnant. I saw on youtube a doctor saying you might lose results. If you gain. Will i go back to be the same.

    • @DrWilliamMiami
      @DrWilliamMiami  8 месяцев назад +1

      It can't go back to the same because those fat cells are removed.

    Hey Doc! Your day ones know that lipo doesn’t remove skin because you have educated us all very well. We know it was a slip of words, but there are some who have come to the chat thinking they can correct you. 🤭

      Yes I watched the video again and I see where I said lipo removes skin! 🤦🏻‍♂️

  • @queenfree85

    0:34 - But lipo doesn't remove skin though... Just the fat in between the skin and the muscle wall. Only tummy tuck removes skin.

    • @DrWilliamMiami
      @DrWilliamMiami  Год назад

      Yes you are correct! I mis-spoke! Liposuction only removes the fat. The skin will contract and re-drape over the fascia and muscle but it will not be removed by liposuction.

    I feel like some doctors think if you had any children it’s immediately tummy tuck and it’s a non negotiable even if you have very little loose skin ( I know it’s not your case ). Not sure why it varies so much from doctor to doctor. The answer I personally got was it is not going to be “ perfect “

      The reason is because we don't want patients to be unhappy with their skin after having lipo when we know it could look much better (if you have excess skin) with a tummy tuck. Watch this video and it will explain it a little better:

      @@DrWilliamMiami thanks doc yes i have watched all your videos including that one and that is why i am able to make an informed decision, I know that TT might not be necessary for me and run away from surgeons who say its a non negotiable. I even sent a pic to your coordinator and i was told that Lipo would be ok. You mention in the video that the patient is " reasonable I wish more doctors wore also reasonable. Advising us of the possibility of loose skin is reasonable making all patients have TT just because they birthed kids is not in my opinion. Some docs actually get really irritated when you even pose the question. I dont want to have an unnecessary procedure if i dont have to, also loose skin is ok for me vs a large bone to bone scar.

    F you have lipedema it's better to do liposuction before pregnancy because the pregnancy itself causes hormonal change and it most likely will make lipedema worse which is a huge problem

    • @zeynand4039
      @zeynand4039 Год назад

      Huge problem for the body, as in it will be sicker, more pain, more lymphatic problems, just iwvrall being more miserable and less fit which has to do with the entire body just not functioning and moving ad well as it could.

      Thank you. In this video, however, I am not referring to treatment of lipedema. I don't treat patients with lipedema--this liposuction is for removal of normal stores of fat.
