"You just killed James Bond!"
"Is that who it was?"
Best line ever.
Hello.. felix my old friend
It's so fascinating to see Connery act in this one. He looks at his watch, gets ready for a punch up, but screws it by hitting the window first. The brief look to what fault he has made was soo well acted. Sean is the bond.
Pretty amazing fight considering how tight that space was and the fact that Connery and Robinson are big fellas as well. They pulled it off quite nicely, though. The fight scenes in the Connery Bonds were always harder edged, among the best in the series if not arguably the best period.
Have to say though, a very realistic fight even by today's standards
i dont know..... I dont know as anyone can keep up that level of exertion for that long.
Very underrated scene too
This was considered one of the best fights ever shot on film.
What I love about the older films especially is that there are subtle things that show that Bond isn't perfect and slips up sometimes. Given that Bond is behind Franks at the start, it should be an easy victory, but he accidentally elbows the glass pane at 0:09 when he pulls back to punch (he briefly looks at it in horror), and this immediately alerts Franks.
Something I've never understood: how "famous" is James Bond within the "Bond Universe"? I mean, he's supposed to be a "secret agent", but everyone seems to recognize the name.
yes Yes but for the sake of “suspending disbelief”
The Fire extinguisher can be used in any type of emergency.
"My God, You just killed James Bond"
classic
2:04...Franks' grunt when toppling over the railing always cracks me up!
"UGGHHH-HOOOO!"
amazing fight scene, one of the best in movie history
not 1 of my favourite bond films but this fight is in my top 5 favourite bond fights.
no music at the start but the elevator sounds and the constant sound of breaking glass give it atmosphere!!
RIP sir sean🙏🏻
The best part of the film and one of the best fight scenes of all the bond films
Overlooked 007 fight
Love it! Possibly the finest Bond fight to date. 0:28 is easily the best part of the movie :)
Joe Robinson, the guy who plays Franks, got attacked by some muggers in South Africa in 1998. He was 70 at the time. He was also had a 6th Degree black belt in Judo at the time. Guess how it went down.
A few broken bones and fleeing muggers!
In real life, Robinson would have destroyed Connery. But this isn't real life.
The best part of the film. Brutal fight.
Great fight I must say. The movie itself was pretty silly and just decent. Craig and Connery probarly had the most brutal fights of all bond actors. The fight with Grant is also pretty violent, a little thing that`s abit fake though is that Connery`s bond never got scars and wounds after those fights. Dalton in the end of License To Kill bleed very much after chrashing the trailer, same thing goes for Brosnan`s fight with Trevelyan.
Connery cut his hand open for real in the fight against shaw. You can see his hand in the movie.
@jonnnyharsh Ahh yes, I remember now. It's been a while since I've watched License. I still maintain though, that the best fight in the Dalton era didn't involve Bond at all. I am of course talking about the fight in the kitchen between Necros and Green 4. THAT was awesome!
This fight is the second best fight in the history of bond. (Best fight is, of course, From Russia with love.)
this movie has to be connerys best it never lets up on the action and the villain is really good too
What are they going to do next, have a fight in a telephone box?
a true inspiration in film acting!
2:45 "The Playboy Club"
I've seen this film a couple of times, but now is the first time I notice
Peter Franks reflexes are so good that they're stupid at 00.09..
"OMG You killed James Bond !" :D
2:00 Ha ha! Its Jack Frost!
My name really is Peter Franks !!!
You're quite welcome sir! I'll be uploading pretty much every single Bond fight there is so stay tuned ;).
Sean Connery Vs Joe Robinson
I like how Bond just throws the fire extinguisher at him after he falls over the railing.
ramming the guy through the glass at 0:29 is just PAINFUL!!!
Really good fight. Just noticed that before he empties the extinguisher onto Franks, Franks isn't holding the crowbar. But at 1:59 it shows that he is.
Sean looks hilarious at 1:53 and I like how he says is that who he was
best 007 movie ever!!! (my opinion)
DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER
You can forget all your CGI, slo-mo backflip fake almost-kung fu crap, THIS is how you make a fight scene.
What is the name of the theme that plays?
what film is??
Best part of the movie.
This landmark of hard-violence and comic is very seducing.
Even if this is not one of the bests James Bond movies, I sincerely love this fight scene.
Thanks to Sean! =D
RIP Tiger Joe
"Is that who it was?!"
LMFAO! XD
Gran truco para despistar
0:20 - 0:21: You can easily see that his punch wasn't anywhere near his face. lol XD
what are these wands for?
@MGSFan22
Agreed.
Strange. Daniel charmed Vesper, Fields, and Severine didn't he? He wears stylistic suits, right? Casino Royale and Skyfall had storytelling to it. Quantum, however is one I think you're talking about. With the rapid action, brooding, and shoot-em-up. We'll have to agree to disagree.
Don't know why the enemies always fire their guns when it's guaranteed they won't hit anything. Haven't seen too many fights in elevators, though.
Bond's reaction at the end - hilarious!
athroughz0t9 Most likely reason the bad guys (and sometimes the good guys) fire their guns when they definitely won't hit anything is because the struggle is causing them to involuntarily squeeze the trigger. That, or their guns all have hair triggers.
Shadowkey392
Either reason makes a lot of sense.
bond breaks the glass first catching himself off guard
Yeah eye know Like he has eyes in the back of his head. Great fight I like bonds punch at 21 seconds.
@RonnMosz
Probably because he appears for less than five minutes in only one film.
The guy who played peter franks taught
sean connery JUDO in real life.
slowest elevator ever
Worlds fastest elevator
First one to watch this!! 5/5. Thanks a lot!
@Blueshark2000
Never once has it been said that he is "low-profile" or "secret"
R.I.P. Joe Robinson.
dat kidney shot at 0:34
Nice fight
gustavo urias definitely one of my favourites.
I want to see this fight re-created using Daniel Craig.
in real life joe robinson who plays franks was a british karate champion for years and Connerys karate instructer.
compare this fight seance with that of
From russia with love in the train ...
one sees how heavily bond had aged...
Lazenby and Connery are the best.
Yes he makes out with himself and then ends up killing himself...how ironic.
poor peter franks
Yes
Yes
@@tcvicesquad sometimes I'd like to see Bond lose.
Why Moore?
Lazenby's movements are nowhere near as good as Sean Connery's.
@WelloDaDon I have been in worse...I preferred to take the stairs up/down to a 7th floor.
I realize that my trough love is for Peter Franks. I would make a combat with James Bond if I was on these
elevator.
Connery is the best.
Im sick of this ¨Daniel plays a Bond closer to fleming's character¨ bullshit. No, Bond was never a sombre, pouty, sad-face loser or caveman thug like Craig is (his only two operating modes). Bond was never used by women like Craig is, Bond is supposed to be charming, a connoiseur, a man of style and taste, this is a huge part of his persona in the books, Craig is just a depressing brute. He has killed everything that made Bond movies special, Bond movies are just generic shoot em up movies now.
In the part of you why James Bond Kills Peter Franks ?
Who is the trough espion ?
What is the both of them who is the very bad Man ?
I want to realize my own movie film. Sean Connery in my mind.
I love these secrets that reveal who are in all of the humanities.
I love Sean Connery then i love Stone Cold Austin.
What kind of clothes is Tiffany wearing?
dno about you but swedish house mafia brought me here...
i think not
Why would he attack him out of nowhere...the nanosecond he hears the glass break
Interesting aside is that I once found myself giving this Joe Robinson a lift in my car from Castle Cary train station, not knowing who he was. He was wearing a leopard skin shirt underneath an old suit and combined with the glass eye I thought twice when he asked for lift....during the journey he claimed to have been in a james bond and that he had been British Judo champion- at the time I just nodded and was relieved when I had dropped him off!! Little did I know....
Lol I wanna find the scene before this, where Bond makes out with himself as a disguise, then uses a dutch accent..
hmmm, a key to a hotel ... or motel??? masquerade motel perhaps??? and oh yea... Swedish House Mafia brought me here!
@askskog Definitely right! :)
Lol, he uses his Playboy card.
still think the fight should have lasted longer, and Necros too. Necros raid on MI6 was too cheesy. I would have liked to see more agents engage him.........
iis this diamonds are forver
2:11
The girl's expression.
axwell steve angello sebastian ingrosso
Come on. Connery didn't look that sophisticated, as Fleming himself - he looked like a Scottish truck driver. Craig doesn't look much more rugged than Connery -case in point - this scene.
@tcvicesquad i dunno, Dalton's Bond in Licence to kill headbutts people and kicks them in the balls that's pretty violent and unexpected
Excuse my ignorance, is Franks Irish? English? He reminds me of some quiet dude on my campus that always makes eye contact with me, lol, a brown haired man, he is red. Crazy racism, lol. But I am being serious....this is an interesting meeting of the two, Franks is curious about Bond...
Actually it was eight. After he felled three, he broke the arm of the fourth. They all ran like bitches after that.
Could've done without the foam from fire extinguisher.
Commander Bwarr Eh, I thought it was a nice touch.
Could've done without Tiffany completely jumping poses during the cut at 1:28. That's what's bothering me the most.
@charlieiscool1000 To break open doors in an emergency
what does Swedish House Mafia have to with it? whats the connection?
This film sucks but this fight is awesome
Like I said, it's all a matter of opinion. And me, being a Connery fan and long time Bond fan, I think Daniel Craig is doing a terrific job. But the point I made was that he puts butts in seats. Moore and Brosnan did as well with their "worst Bond movies ever" as you put. But it's your opinion that Craig is awful, and I respect it. Like it's mine, (along with Sean Connery and Roger Moore their selves) that Daniel Craig is doing just fine.
If you like Daniel Craig, you're not a Bond fan. Infact you're probably someone who always hated Bond films in the past
It would be way better.
James bond funny fight scene in the lift with peter Franks
